  • Recently the Model Rail Network Facebook group hosted a virtual model railway exhibition in which members submitted a short running session of their layouts. This video was my contribution to the event.
    The loco featured in the video is a work in progress Hunslet Class 101 of which three were used to haul the Enterprise service between Belfast and Dublin. More on this build will follow in due course.

    Hey, Paul! What a grand video. I really get a feel for what you have done and intend to do. Such videos really show the depth and work it takes even to get a small section done on a layout, especially seeing scenes and kits you built a year or so ago. Of course, it's also cool to see a train looping it all! Brilliant video all around!

      Thank you Anthony, it is nice just to get that overview once in a while. I get the same thoughts when I see your layout, the expanse of it, what you’ve done and what you still need to tackle. Paul

    Really very nice and all the more timely as Chadwick has gone fortnightly. BTW I came to appreciate just how skilled you are when I tried to emulate your signal box steps making process. I just couldn’t get them level and so ended up 3D printing them. My birthday was most timely!😅

    • @GalgormHall
      @GalgormHall  Před 4 lety

      You’re too kind. How did the 3D printing work out? Did you do a print version of my box or another one? Paul

    • @1952TonyC
      @1952TonyC Před 4 lety

      Paul, I was using your method but to create the flights on my station footbridge. Luckily for me the signal box for the station that I am modelling had internal stairs. 😅 I found that trying to get each tread level, square and at a consistent rise was beyond my ability and I was getting glue everywhere! 3D printing has been a revelation. If you can create the design you can’t go wrong. Tony

    • @GalgormHall
      @GalgormHall  Před 3 lety

      Thank you so much Michael. I’ve tried to show the materials as I’ve gone along, particularly the girder sections and their codes. These have all come from Plastruct and can be purchased from many of the online railway modelling sites. My own personal preference if buying in bulk would be Squires. The plain plasticard in various thicknesses is by Slaters and can be bought directly from their site although alternative suppliers are available. I hope that helps a little. Paul

    Paul, your loco is in the “buff” 😱😂😂😂😂 Can I expect to see this in NIR Blue🤔😍 you can use it as practice for repainting the CIE one 😱🤭😉😂😂😂 Lovely spin around the layout and calming music, what not to love😍 Very best wishes from County Wicklow ☘️

    • @GalgormHall
      @GalgormHall  Před 3 lety +1

      I’ve been working on a number of scratch builds for the last three months so work has paused temporarily on my own layout. One was a build for Hornby Magazine that can be found on their Key Publishing website and also featured in the September issue of the magazine. The other is a shed for Cottesmore and that project is drawing to a close. A couple of videos on this build will be on the channel shortly. I’ve also been working on a NIR Hunslet kit with assistance from Harefield Road and again a video will be coming very soon. Thank you for taking time to enquire though, rest assured all is good here at Galgorm Hall. Paul
