- Episode #202 : A wonderful spot on the Front Side of Catalina Island.
Hello Friends,
On this episode we depart the very rolly Rippers Cove and make way for a smoother berths. We enjoyed a slow sailing down passing Goat Harbor as the same swell marched into the anchorage.
Consulting our cruising guide we pointed for Moonstone Cove at Whites Landing. Dropping the hook in 30ft of water surrounded by beautiful cliffs and protection from both the wind and the swells. Moonstone Cove ended up being easily in my top two favorite anchorages on Catalina Island.

Glad you're still posting Bro. I went back and re-watched the episode where you purchased Triteia. You've come so far. You should be extremely proud of what you've done. Keep at it and realize your dream.
what an amazing snorkel. Those moray eels Totally looked like they were mating hahah
Heading there this week, gonna check it out. Great vid, keep up the good work.
ty for all these great videos, i just signed up for asa 101 lesson, super excited
We anchored there recently per your recommendation. It truly didn’t disappoint. What a magical place indeed!
When I was a kid in the '60s we sailed our Lapworth 32 wood sloop from Newport to Moonstone every summer. Memories.....
Love the background music James!
Great viz, and cute pair of moray eels. That’s living large.
Always enjoy your videos. Makes me want a sailboat even more. Fair winds
Moonstone is one of my favorites. A little jealous of the eel sightings.
Awesome underwater footage. You're living the dream, bro.
Great drone and under water footage!!! Was great seeing you and Steady out at Moonstone. Hope you are doing well.
Enjoying the peaceful sail and your narrative of your thoughts on it. I made up an acyrnon from the first line of Simon and Garfunkuls "59th Street Bridge song. S.D.Y.M.T.F. or Slow Down You're Moving To Fast" .. enjoy the ride, aa you explained as well. If you say the word STYMTF with the emphasis on the MT.. it sounds a bit Hebrew and I hope might be translated as something to do with Peace or Quiet..
What a great little spot to drop the hook and relax! Hope you are doing well.
Sorry, must be an age thing but i can't come to term with the ear things.
@@pellerenhodges6654 Do you have anything to say in regards to the sailing content?
@@pellerenhodges6654Personally, I'm not a big fan of them either, but they're not in my ears. It does not change how I view James as a person or sailor. He likes it, that's good enough for me. To be honest, I noticed them a long time ago when I started watching his channel, but I don't even see them anymore. But I also got along with The Cat Man too,(rest in peace) when he lived near me on whidbey Island. His body mods are about as extreme as you can get.
James- digging all the Cali coast content. Would you mind sharing the cruising guide info you referred to?
Beautiful spot and well filmed and presented. A true 'sailing' channel. OMG! I thought they were all swamped with boobs, bikinis and even babies! I decided to start here and work my way through up to the present day. Really looking forward to it. 😎
I think you have to clean/rebuild the outboard carb.
how many watts is each one of your solar panels?
When this video was shot they were 100w per side, now I have 200w preside because I have an electric galley
so what happen you were of to Hawaii and now it is catalina did i miss somthing
