I've been using leather luster on my duty belt and pouches for years. I didn't need to use sand paper, but I can see how that can help. Also I've found that it takes at minimum 24 hours to dry, but even longer to fully cure and harden. I laid my stuff out in direct sunlight for a whole day and it really let it finish curing. I've only had to do my gear twice in four years.
I'll be doing my boots the same way this week.
Yes. During the winter time, it doesn’t dry. It was sticky for a month. Hahaha

Yes. Really light. This Nike or Danner Tachyons. But the real difference is the insoles. Try aetrex. So comfortable.

Danner Tachyons are the most comfortable lightweight boot ive ever worn. 12/hr a day FL LEO. Make sure you buy the gore-tex ones as well.
They renewed them and don't have the stitching anymore at the front
can we see the after product? I tried this on these same boots and the leather luster wouldn't stop being sticky even after a week of drying.
Real thin coat. You have to remove almost all the me paint from the sponge brush. Thin coats. 2 coats.

What is that pre-cleaner? Is it just acetone or something else?
It’s kinda like acetone or paint thinner. It takes the previous leather luster off.
Hey I got these from Ross, model number AQ1199-001 the Goretex model. But mine doesn't have the stiches in the front like yours. Could they be fakes? This is the first time I'm buying these type of boots so I'm not sure.

Little wider than the Nike first gen SFB. Only thing I don’t like is that the ankle area is very bulky. I’m going to try Danner Tachyons next. 👍🏼

And I got a question , you know LAPD use Aker as their duty gear supplier and when they are distributed they actually are plain but not hi gloss .When on the graduation ceremony and daily patrols some of they are hi gloss(maybe have been painted ?)and do you actually use leather luster on your duty belt and duty gear if not how it those shine come?

To find that out, it would be best for you to go into LAPD station and ask the officers there. I’m not sure.
For me, I use leather luster and sometimes I use the leather shining guy at my station. Hopefully I answered your question.

Buy it
Step 1. throw that crap in the trash. Step 2. learn how to properly polish a boot. That crap will crack and look like trash in no time. Get some polish, use a lighter to get a small flame, wait for it to turn to liquid, blow it out, apply polish and polish with a cloth. Make layers and that will outlast that crap.
Hahaha. Leather luster is great for boots that’s not real leather. My Danner boot is spit shined. 👍🏼

@Kade Cooper I guess certain boots because my old boots cracked with leather luster and went to shit but my 3rd pair that I got I use leather luster and honestly it has actually lasted longer and is looking decent but idk I’m just saying what I see, I might do research on it more 🤔
