As someone who's alreeady seen this episode of Next, I will NOT be drinking along 😂
As a former autistic kid, I can unfortunately confirm that Evan’s characterization is accurate to majority of people who work with autistic kids. They took pride in appearing like our saviors yet mistreated and degraded us when our parents weren’t around. I still have C-PTSD from my experiences in a special education school. Two examples of kids’ being put directly in danger are as follows:
1. One of the non-verbal kids ran away. The staff didn’t call the police or even the kid’s parents because they didn’t want to take responsibility for their actions. Instead, they formed their own search party so they wouldn’t have to tell anyone he was missing to begin with. When his mom came to pick him up a few hours later and he was still missing, she finally called the police and they found him by a lake next to the highway, where he could’ve drowned, been hit by a car, or gotten kidnapped.
2. One of my classmates kept getting out of his seat to use the hand sanitizer due to his OCD. The teacher eventually lost his patience and broke the student‘s foot. Again, they told nobody until his mom arrived and she was the one to call the police. This time, CPS investigated our school, but the security camera footage had been conveniently lost in a power outage.
Unfortunately, it is very common for such incidents to occur in special ed environments. I guess the teachers think we’re stupid and that they can get away with anything. Thankfully, my former school closed down at the end of the 2022 school year.
Ugh, that's disgusting. I'm so sorry those people were allowed to work in that field. But I do know there's a lot of mistreatment of special needs kids or just kids in general, because some grown ass person wants to take a power trip. It ends in horrible, horrible consequences - for the child. I hate that they often get away with it too.
Luckily that kid was unharmed when they found him. The adult breaking the child's foot due to annoyance?? Absolutely foul, if you can't deal with mental health issues don't work with people who are mentally ill. Or physically, seriously, stick to what you *can* do, don't hurt children because **you're** upset with your life choices.
Ah, sorry for the longish reply, I just get heated when people are treated unfairly.

Im currently in grade 9 and im in special education and personally ive been getting treated right i think.... But i hope its the same for the other children in the other classes because no child deserves to be mistreated:( i rlly hope the people who did that were punished

I swear that in this era of MTV, they made a couple of gay episodes of this show... and they were INSANE!! In one case the home dog used the body fat of the skillet biscuit to determine if they were ideal candidates...And in another case, the boys on the bus were about to date a complete narcissist who offered to marry him or walk away with the money... AND don't make me start with the kissing on the bus!!!
