I hated Miranda sings in primary school. While I wasn’t abused, I was wrapped up in some very sexually inappropriate things and all around me people were imitating her talking about porn and her uncle grooming her was awful. The videos of her calling certain outfits porn or whxrish really affected me in a negative way and she genuinely scared me and makde me extremely uncomfortable
I didn’t really know anyone who liked her or quoted her or anything, and I wasn’t a fan of hers either, but I had seen enough clips and collabs with creators I DID watch, she always made me uncomfortable. I just never found her funny? It was equally a horribly uncomfortable characature, but it also made fun of certain types of people in the process, and there was like.. a lot of racism? I don’t know, it doesn’t surprise me she’s a shitty person, but I could never have guessed how crazy she is until I saw the apology and heard why she was apologizing-

Even if her content wasn’t aimed at kids she s knew she had many child fans as there are videos of her interacting with them. Frankly, this is the 1st video of yours I’ve ever watched. I’m a 66 year old woman who’s best friend has been Television. Due to various circumstances, while growing up, I literally watched 1000’s of hours of T.V., and I was lucky. The State of Oregon had one local Station, so I had 4 channels to choose from, not just the major 3 & PBS. It has always been the only constant in my life. I love the internet, wondering how I ever lived my life without Google? So of course I now am literally addicted to CZcams.
I heard about this controversy from a different CZcamsr, kyeluh. I didn’t have a clue who Colleen was, but I learned about the allegations through her video. I have to admit, I was intrigued to hear the “apology” song, and I realized I did see it about a month ago. I then noticed that there were other versions of the song, and when I saw this reaction video was available, I clicked on it.
What an opportune time to be introduced to your channel. It was funny, fast moving, and creative. I was delighted 😊.

Colleen is one of those instances where its absolutely malice not stupidity. The problem is she intimately understands the power imbalance between her and her fans and she was deliberately taking advantage of it. She wanted a vulnerable little army she could control completely. She pushed their boundaries to deeply uncomfortable places, insulted them, encourage disordered eating in these 13 year olds and it gave her a sense of total control

I really hope this situation raises awareness for victims of grooming. Anyone could be groomed, not just children, and even if it doesn't go to an extreme like SA, it's still abuse. All it takes is an irresponsible, scarred person with an upperhand.
i was kinda worried about that and i think i was groomed in my mid 20s
tysm ur awesome for saying this i was groomed at 19 by my 30 40 year old “god father” and i have delt with csa my whole childhood so i was vulnerable bc he already knew that so he sa me to damage me more and i don’t think ill ever be the same the phycological effects already effects me to this day and i’m 22 now i just hope children and people of all ages get educated from this like you said bc that kind of damage is something that stays with you sending blessing’s ❤

I really appreciated your talk at the end about parasocial relationships and setting healthy boundaries with fans. The term "groomer" gets thrown around a lot, sometimes inaccurately, so I think some people have a misunderstanding of what exactly people are upset at Colleen for.
