  • Sorry guys. I did not notice the shadow that is looming due to bad lighting. I just upgraded the sound system and mic, and lighting will be next. Please bear with me. I am unsure if anyone will find this interesting, but Suga is good at interviewing. He found common ground and drew out some heartwarming conversations.

I enjoy re-watching these with you, because you're very good at giving additional information in a calming, interesting manner. Suga is like this too, I think. Even though his rapping is hard-hitting, fast, & amped up, his personality & speaking voice is chill & soothing. His interviewing style is entertaining & calming at the same time. He has interesting things to say, but is also such a sincere, respectful listener.

Thank you so much. I was so sure people would be bored out their mind when I did the first one. It is a great feeling there are people enjoying the content🫶

I enjoyed listening to your comments and observations about Korean culture, especially your comment about the development of even the smaller character arcs in Korean dramas. Thank you for reacting to Suchwita and other BTS content. My daughter introduced me to Korean variety shows (starting with We Gott Married in 2012 or 2013). Seeing how ultra modern and how ancient Korea was really intrigued me. The natural beauty of the hills, rivers and valleys reminded me of where I grew up, but my home state is not nearly as developed as Seoul. It is always a pleasure watching your videos.

My favorite WGM couple of all time was YongSeo Couple. Yongwha from CNBlue and SeoHyun of SNSD. It was more romantic than thousand Rom. Com. movies. There were many great couples but that couple felt more real than real. Perhaps I will revisit the show. You brought back the memories. Thank you.

I've only recently started watching Korean dramas and it's such a breath of fresh air. The storylines are engaging, the acting is strong, it's easy to get emotionally invested in characters and they never feel like they're dragging along just for the sake of getting more seasons for money. You know that you're getting a complete story that was planned out instead of the writers trying to squeeze as much story out until the audience gets bored and they have to cancel it. I'm kind of glad that I'm late to the party though. It makes me appreciate it more and I have more than enough things to watch. Crash Landing on You is on my Netflix list so I'm excited to finally get around to it.

Very good point. What they did to Walking dead, heroes, etc.broke my heart and soul. And the quality is just not getting better. There is a limit to watching repeating episodes of someone dying and solving it, over and over again. There have been really good ones over the years. I want to include them in my reactions, but I am wondering how I will go about it. Please 😉 enjoy.

I don’t mind long reactions at all, as long as the content requires it, which these do. I love rewatching these Suchwita episodes, while getting your take & giving us little tidbits about what you know. John, you gave away your age-you’re not an old guy at all ! - you’re an Original-😂😂. I like hearing your perspective on things Korean , knowing you’ve seen it all there as an adult since the ‘90s (btw, Suga was born in 1993). Hope you will react to all the other Suchwita episodes you haven’t seen yet (there’s only 2 more from the past, but there’s a new episode with two members from TXT, coming up in a week from now-this is not a spoiler since the Teaser mentions their fandom). Thanks for this video. 👍🏼

I will pass for old ...very old in any other kpop fandoms. Just not here with Army. Not even close. Lol. It was a play on OG but now it is stuck.

I’m so glad to have re-watched this with you! Suchwita has other funnier episodes but I think this one is actually my favorite. There’s a strong sense of nostalgia between both of them that evokes so much emotion from me even if I live a completely different life. I don’t necessarily have a strong dream that I followed (which is why I LOVE bts’ song Paradise) but both times I’ve watched it, Sungmin’s answer about wanting to go back to his 20s so he can work harder and appreciate his life more made me feel nostalgic and regretful, even if I’m still in my 20s and it’s still my present? Like nostalgia for the present and for things that hasn’t even happened yet

Oh and since you mentioned wanting to listen to Tomorrow, I would also like to recommend Paradise along with it! I think they’re on the same vein of defiant hope

I think you will enjoy Suchwita's second episode as well. His guest is Shin Dong Yeob. It's a enjoyable twist, as usually he is the one interviewing people, but now the table is turned.

Hi John, thanks to you I am up to date on Suchwita. And thanks for your insights. I need to find a good map of Korea so I can get an idea of where places are. I visited Korea in 2016 and it was a week of hotels and buses and place names. My goal is to figure out where I was and maybe some day go back and really learn about these places. The thing about this episode is doing what you love. They both struggled and grew as people but they would not have lasted if they did not have a passion for their craft.

So much respect and some.......... jealousy for these guys. Welcome to Korea 🇰🇷. Please visit. It can be a great place where you can put your guard down and explore. It has been 5 years or more where I have been leaving my car keys... in the car. No chance of losing the keys. Perhaps the car, though... one of these days.

Hi! I just found your channel. I really appreciate that you break down parts of the conversation that non Korean speakers wouldn’t understand. Like how their language towards each other hints at the kind of relationship they have, helping us to understand how mountains in Korea helped shape dialect, and even talking about the kind of bbq food they ate. Love your reactions!!

I totally get the thing with dialects. Some Indian languages have local dialects as well and it can be quite funny at times because your brain is like 'this sounds familiar so I know what this word might mean' but then the actual meaning will be completely unexpected. I can't understand about 60% of elders in my father's childhood village.

    • @komerican-og
      @komerican-og  Před rokem +2

India is a HUGE country with many many languages so local dialects and inflections must be countless. It adds much personality though. Thank you fro visiting~

It was great sharing this episode with you John...!! Your input on dialect/speech differences and Kdramas was fascinating...thank you for always taking the time to 'educate/illuminate' us non-Koreans...!!🙏👍
And yes, Suga is a natural at interviewing guests of various ages/backgrounds...next you will have to watch/react to his young guests...he is definitely a respected Sunbae...!👏✌

I live about 2 hours away from Atlanta and went there to visit a friend. While I was there, our dinner reservations got cancelled so we decided to stop and have Korean bbq. We all enjoy Korean bbq but we're really confused by the entrees and asked what they recommended. We got a 4 person set of Gopchang, Daechang, and Makchang and IT CHANGED MY LIFE 😂 Now I'm back in South Carolina where I can't get it and have driven to Atlanta at least once a month to eat there. It's absolutely delicious!!

Oh my! It was gutsy to recommend it to you guys but more so to accept it. It is so shunned in US. But God it is good drinking soju with it with your friend while it's smoking on the fire. Hear that sizzle? 😜

@@komerican-og I'm from South Carolina so I'm used to unusually fatty meats and foods others consider "weird". I fell in love with the daechang because it reminded me of unsalted fatback that I grew up eating. Oh, and there was plenty of soju to go around. We enjoyed the soju with it so much we had to Uber home 😂
