- Melissa McCarthy told Ellen about how her parents rescued cats, and at one point had over 30 living in the barn at their home. She gave an example of how to properly call the cats in for dinner, and recalled the time her mom hilariously mistook a skunk for a cat! The actress also chatted about how all her 10-year-old daughter wanted for her birthday was a stunt harness.

LOL! That's awesome. we've been rescuing for 18 years. I'd put food out about 4 times a day in the yard. one day, I heard noise behind me and I assumed one of the cats was coming. I turned around to a mama and three baby skunks. it was the cutest thing. they came near me but didn't spray.

My parents set a live trap years ago. They caught a skunk. My son had to have been 5 at the time. He thought it was a kitten and got really close. Needless to say, my mom called and told me my son just got a tomato sauce bath. Yep he tried to pet the "kitten" and got sprayed😀
