- In this video we compare two revolvers, the Kimber K6S and the (new) Colt Cobra. Although different calibers, both are considered "high end" wheel guns. Which do YOU prefer?

The colt is my favorite between the two but the Kimber looks more refined.
I put a set of Altamont wood grips on my K6s and it makes a lot of difference. I get a full three finger grip and gain a little more control. With the original rubber boot grip I found I was shooting to the left consistently despite the three dot sights while I was shooting straight with my S&W Airweight with three finger grips. This despite the S&W only weighing 13 ounces and having a gutter rear sight and a front fiber optic sight.
No, I've not shot the Kimber, but I bought a Cobra. I lucked into a used one and couldn't not buy it. I'm very happy with it. The sights work for me despite the gutter sight in the rear. The fiber optic front really pops and my aging eyes appreciate that. I'm not fond of three dots for carry, anyway. For a snubby, this revolver handles really well, even with the stock grips and .38+P ammo is no problem. It's heavier than the original Cobra but it seems built to last. I love having six rounds compared to the five in my SP101 or LCR. I made the right decision for me. You gave us another fine video, by the way. Thanks.
Thank you. You made a good choice and I hope it serves you well!
Very nice comparison 👍
i like the Cobra personally; although, I'd own either! I also like the three inch variant of the King Cobra.... The Colt triggers win me over every time! I'm really interested in the new Kimber XL pocket snub nose in six shot version.
Agree small revolvers including the Ruger LCR in .357 can shoot .357, however you are most likely going to limit it to 38 Spl or 38 Spl+P in most cases. Still believe it is good to shoot .357 if capable periodically like the Kimber here just to remind one what it takes to use that load accurately if you had to. Thanks for the comparison.
"Which do YOU prefer?"
I prefer both~~~
I like the Colt.
I bought the King Cobra 2in .357 magnum but I intend to mainly shoot .38 only. I got it for the extra solid build over the regular cobra.
I own the Kimber K6 it’s a fabulous revolver with a superb trigger. Don’t know much about the Colt, but the Colt is more of a traditional revolver and not as refined as the Kimber K6.
FYI: There's a new Colt King Cobra Target which has the standard adjustable rear sights and fiber optic front sights
Another informative video. I owned the original Kimber K6s and sold it. Didn't enjoy it at all. It beat my hand up - even shooting .38 though it. They are beautiful revolvers though. Thank you and cheers!
Thank you. That is not unusual with the small revolvers, if it doesn't fit your hand perfectly, it will usually beat you up a bit. Another similar one that fits will be a joy to shoot.

I’m very interested in the Kimber I really wish I could shoot it before I tried it, just because I hate selling guns , so I’m asking the same question to all K6 owners.
What are the things you do not like about it ?
Guys that have sold them usually tell me I got a great offer or a great trade in but that isn’t a negative for me, also one or two guys said that they just don’t carry it which again isn’t a real negative that is just personal preference.
On a list of things I never ever thought I would say, I prefer the kimber K6 over the colt cobra. 1911 wise I still prefer the colts.
Have the Cobra but my bedside goto still my Glock 26 extended mag w/light and laser
I had trouble deciding which small frame revolver I wanted. So, I ended up buying a S&W 640, Ruger LCR, Colt Cobra, and a Kimber K6S. I tend to carry the S&W 640 more than any of the others, but I think the Kimber is my favorite of the four. Unfortunately for me, the dark version of the Kimber wasn't available until AFTER I bought my stainless version.
I have the Cobra, the first revolver I've had in years. It will be my carry gun as soon as i find a decent holster for it. I think I may buy a King Cobra next. would like to have a Kimber 1911 but don't like their revolver.
What about the revolver is not to your taste? Aesthetic?
I sort of want a Night Cobra. These are a little pricey but the Cobra is a little more possible.
Part of me wants to buy a colt because of their history and the quality they used to be known for. The other part of me feels like the company sold out a long time ago and doesnt make the same quality firearms the used to. Kimber might be the new rising star
Good review. Really Look forward to your Sp101 vs K6 H2H. Colt revealed a 2" hammerless King Cobra .357 at NRA. Tween Kimbers new DASA, Colts snake revival and Rugers new Wrangler series plus a 8 shot Super GP100 .357...Things are getting interesting. Again, good review.
Thank you. Happy to see revolvers making a comeback in the mainstream calibers.
Both are so beautiful!
I love my colt cobra talo edition but man those that kimber look pretty. 😍🤑
RIA is importing some nice revolvers from Europe with hand polishing , hand fitted , recessed cylinder at about 2/3rds the price of either of these. I see quality and Kimber is ahead of colt. But to each their own. I’m looking seriously at the RIA offering, hope to handle one asasp
The boot grips on the Kimber are aesthetically pleasing and aid in concealment, but they are just too small for my hands. Altamont makes some very nice wooden replacement grips that are larger. Did you notice that the edges of the trigger guard on the Colt seem to be somewhat sharp and unfinished? That's unacceptable for a gun that says Colt on it.
Swapping sights is a must for me so there is only one option here. The colt would be nice to try but I’m done with gutter rears.
The Kimber kicks ass!
Love my K6.
Colt, without a doubt. If I can't stop an aggressor with 6 rds of .38 Special, especially + p hollow point, I'm in way over my head anyway. And $400.00 will buy a lot of ammo.
No anymore as of 10/2020 No 38 +P to be found and if you find a box it $50.00 or more
The Kimber looks more refined and well made.
Feels that way too
Wow that cameras super expensive holy crap I can't even believe that for that gun that's crazy
You didn't put the caliper on the widest part of the cylinder
The thought of firing ANY firearm in a self defense situation is an absolute last resort for me because I already have hearing loss. It would be bad enough with 38's. Carrying with 357's would be out of the question. Btw, both guns are gorgeous.
Kimber k6s = to Colt shown Selling @ $700 to $800 in stores $ Web sellers. ... So price is not an issue.
Boy those VZ grips on the Colt look very wide. It would probably make it easier to shoot but harder to conceal.
Kimber is a next level engineering
All I could think is I'd want both 😉 ..
Too bad you couldn't use the Night Cobra for this review. I've never seen one in our local gun stores
Kimber DASA are around $800 now so go get one
I love how you stroked the guns in the beginning of the video! Talk about gun porn!
It's a shame that the Kimber is shown in black. K6s in the brushed stainless is beautiful.
Add a longer grip to the Kimber like you did to the colt and wallah,,, the Kimber wins.
But I want short , thin, of wood grips 😭😭
The Kimber is an all around better revolver. I do like the cobra though.
Both serve a purpose, but a 686 is more comfortable and has 7 rounds.
KIMBER K6S VS S&W M36
The Colt King Cobra is a .357
That is correct, we used a Cobra because the King Cobra had not yet been released when we made this video.
Of course the K6! It's .357mag. How can a .38SPL comparable to .357mag?
We fired both guns with .38SPL for our test.
@@HammerStriker It's the same then for both .38SPL specifically. I prefer K6, you can shoot either 357 or 38.
So is Kimber using MIM parts for this revolver? If so, That is a deal breaker for me. I USED to like their 1911 before the use MIM parts became widespread. No more.
The only thing that detracts from the Kimber is the extremely ugly 'hump' of the hammer shroud. Makes the whole thing look ugly and glockish despite everything else being beautifully detailed. I hope they release a 'traditional' version with an exposed hammer.
Kimber.
You love that G 10 shit huh?
OK... This gun is like the iphone ten .I said I NEVER pay $1000.00 for a cell phone..I did and it is great. Kimber K6 ..I said I never pay a $1000.00 for a pocket gun. I did and it is great.....WHO use a hammer in a defensive situation. Most of the time when pulling a gun you are HOLDING a person. Pull a hammer back and you are more dangerous than the crook. IE the police will always have a heavy first pull trigger.....
The only thing that the 357 hits is my wallet.
I 've shot the Kimber and agree the DA pull is practically perfect. You admit the Colt stacks in DA then declare Colt the winner based on the SA pull. Silly.
No, he didn't. Pay attention, dumbass. He declared it easier to shoot because the DOUBLE-Action trigger is a couple of pounds lighter. Do you understand the spoken English Language?
Esteban Kozak : You need to put your listening ears on and stop bad mouthing others for your own shortcomings. Watch again at 8:03 he clearly states the Colt stacks - however slight it may be, he says it stacks. You owe MrLangDog an apology - if you are man enough!
Easy to shoot 😂 yeahhh you put different grips , smh
Digital calipers...... 🤮🤮
