- herra is the ambush king and so nice to play. from start on you can mess around and have fun all over the map. we tried to ambush at many places, but, the south plains are still one of the best areas around. we tried even big prey, with less success tho XD

Just a quick tip. Most people think the further up you go the further out you can jump. That's not the case. There's a sweet spot that if you go higher or lower it decreases your range. Also, you don't fall over when you land at that height so you can hit and run immediately. I love herrera. I think it's the best dino to just travel the map. One AI will fill you up and nothing can kill you because you can just climb a hill or cliff. Nice video.
I died in the same spot as you lol. I'm not sure but I don't think you get a leg break symbol if you're going to die and not just break a leg. I didn't get a symbol either.
thx mate, but doesn't height play a part in the amount of damage you do? I thought I heard a dev mentioning something like that in a video before they even released it. wasn't there a kind of multiplier with weight and height or so?
anyway, yeah, I also very much enjoy herra gameplay. no constant need to hunt. time to wait patiently until somebody arrives at almost every place on the map makes herra the ambush king in my opinion
if you look closer, then there are 3 symbols. the one where I died was with the top of the toes (of the foot symbol) leaning to the left. normally it's straight upwards. so, upwards means fine, the bone means break and the top of the toes to the left seems to mean death oh, and if you died at the same spot, jeez, we were close to the water tho, weren't we?
@@da.mombie You're correct there is a multiplier for how high you are. However, there's a maximum. I never have issues killing juvies with the height I'm talking about. You may do a tad more damage, but I thought they meant more like jumping from a few feet to about 25 feet. Sorry, you'll have to do the conversion lol. I don't know if you know the "safe" drinking spot by the waterfall just west of East Plains in the cave, but it's not very high and I always hunt there and kill mostly juvie tenos.
So this is how I look at it. If I'm killing a juvie I'll be fine not going as high. If I'm just bugging a big dino for fun, I'm definitely not going higher because I will flop over and they will kill me. However, they said they changed that in the new patch. So as long as you hit the dino you won't fall over.

Herrera is so much fun. I'm looking forward to the increased bleed damage from the ambush/pounce in the next patch. It'd be nice if they made the full grown adult slightly bigger though. Because they're so small even when full grown, every dino I come across, including herbivores, seem to have me on kill on sight. In real life, the largest skeleton was bigger than the Omniraptor so even if they made it slightly smaller than that, it would allow you to at least fight back some of the mid sized dinos. Oh well, at least they're the best spectator dino species and are easy to grow.
yes it is. I very much enjoy that you aren't in constant need for food (a boar is enough for half an hour). so, you can patiently ambush. I really love that you can ambush all over the map. unlike deino you aren't tied to rivers. you can go to any busy place you know. to pounce off the trees is so fun, I don't even mind that herra is weak to almost anything on the ground. I also don't care if I can't kill a cera or anything big/medium. just to knock them down is so fun honestly, I don't even know the damage. what can you onehit from a good height? an omni? even a pachy? or "just" a dryo? can't say
@da.mombie My guess would be it's weight based like other mechanics, which limits us to the rarest of the rare dinos and juveniles. Looking forward to more of your Herrera shenanigans.
I don't know if I read correctly on the Official DC Theisle ( I still bad at English and there are words I don't understand in English ), but the developers will fix the jumping from heights problem so as not to punish the player for correct roleplay

yeah I know. I am bad when it comes to thumbnails :/ I should put more effort in them. they even say you should put as much time in the thumbnail as in the video. but, I am the kind of guy who thinks the video is more important. I am no sales man at all ^^

thx mate ♥ nice to hear. herra is awesome, even if it's not the biggest killer around can't wait for dibble, too. I loved dibble in legacy. trike was also nice, but, they were so slow. dibble is (or at least was) quite mobile on the map. so many nice dinos still to come

yeah, herra is so fun to play you can do that by your own. hold F and press left mouse button. as soon as it glows you have to hold just one of them. males are yellow, females green

thx ♥ tough to say, but, I would go for omni. the only reason you don't see them that often now, is because they are rather weak as solo dino. but, I think it has the biggest main player base. probably deino tho. tough to say. herra gets played a lot right now, but, it's new and features an amazing new horizon (trees). but, we have to see if it will be played as much on the long run. omni (or utah) on the other hand, has a long and rich history of main players. but, that's the same for rex, so, I don't know

A bit silly that when you pounce on something, you're stunned longer than the thing you pounced i think you tend to aim too much for the head, so if they move even a little you miss. Try more for the body!
somebody told me they will change that in the next update. as soon as you hit you won't get stunned anymore and yeah, I dunno why I always aim for the head. I guess, I played too many shooter in the past

srsly, when I watch my footage I often start to question my self so badly. did you see where I even aimed to? that's ridiculous. it looks like I aimed for the head while it was down at the prey. yeah, I often aim for the head (too many shooters in the past), but, what on earth was I thinking? the head will keep down there for the next 5 seconds? embarrassing

honestly, I would love to. I enjoy herra so much at the moment. but, I also feel responsible to all the others who prefer to see other dinos. so, I try to mix up as much as possible

Hello, I am playing on the EU server, but my ping values constantly rise and fall from 30 to 150 to 200. Why is this happening?
sry mate, I don't know. could be their servers or somewhere on the way from your PC to the server. I also have issues and wanted to track my data transfer with winMTR. but, you need the server address to check it and I couldn't figure it out so far. I asked them on discord, but, didn't get an answer

@@thomasneedison3885 can't say for sure, but, 0.59 is pretty low. I just checked mine and it is about 22.5. that said, it must not be the issue. sry mate, I am no expert in this at all
Thank you for your help. Strangely, when I plug in my old computer, I do not have a ping problem, but on the new computer I bought, there is ping and this only happens in The Isle. In other games, my ping value is normal, sorry for my English, I use the translation, thank you again :)@@da.mombie
