      @Canadian-Asian-dude Před rokem +2

      The main goals of the program is to instill fitness, good citizenship, responsibilities, discipline, and leadership.
      We’d have training night every week with parades, lessons of either drill, info, or leadership, as well as uniform inspection. We have ranks and levels to rise through which differs between branches, as well as awards and medals you would strive for at the end of year. We have teams and activities such as marksmanship, drill, band, FTXs, just to name a few common ones. We’d have camps in the summer, great chance to make friends across the nation. And lastly, we’d have an ACR to end of the year with a big parade.
      Depending on what you’re trying to get out of the program, you could join the Army, Air, or Sea Cadets.
      - Army: mainly focuses on fitness and survival skills such as survival equipment usage and shelter building in the wilderness as well as camps like parachuting which could benefit you in the real army if you choose to enlist later on.
      - Air: mainly focuses on drill and aviation skills like gliding and power pilot. These aren’t mandatory, and we also cover survival, just not as in depth as the army cadets.
      - Sea: mainly focuses on boating (sail boating, etc) and seamanship skills. Unique branch in that it’s parades are unlike any other. It has masts, messengers, and guards on parade instead of flag party. Not quite sure about what they do about survival though.

    What do cadets do?

      @DorkerOrNot  Před rokem +1

      Depending on the regiment, but the main goals are to help you gain leadership experience, help you interact with others, help you gain experience in military stuff (like going camping and eating MRE’s), cadets also teach you a variety of things like (maps, how to tie different knots, how to set up a tent from scrap, how to do military drill), my favourite thing about cadets is the summer training cuz you can possibly go out of country for it or to another state/province depending on your country.

      @@DorkerOrNot Yes, historically, HPE Regt wore scarlet berets BEFORE unification. This was before each trade had a beret colour assigned to them. Now, HPE has a little nit of red underneath their beret badge that is attached to their green beret. Army cadet regimental affiliation should be exact with the CAF, meaning all regimental symbols and accoutrements should match. In the CJCR dress instructions, it specifically states which trades wear which colour of beret, and it's made very clear that ONLY Military Police regiments are to have scarlet berets, and it's also made clear that infantry must have army green berets.
