    This video worked for me. I didn't completely remove the front dash part, though. I just popped up the front piece and applied the velcro. My interior is black, so, I used black velcro. Thank You !!!

    thumbs up because it worked for you. We are PO'd ! Spent $44k for a Yukon Delani and the dash does this junk. 2 dealerships - TWO said they can't guarantee the dash won't squeak even after a new dash install (which we are fine with - if it fixes it!) they say they tell everyone the same thing...it was a 'bad design' GM fixed it now....let's get you in a newer one.... yeah right.
    My wife is thinking BMW suv...I'm thinking I'll never buy another GM product anyway after this mess!
    oh...and I'm not gonna tear into our 44k vehicle like this - that should be a CS dept thing.....this is nuts. But I'm glad you fixed yours.

    Great video. This really helped. Part of my dash in the corner is cracked, so I was able to lift the whole thing up without removing the side panels. I’m one of the unlucky Tahoe 2009 owners that had the dash crack in the same two places as everyone else, but luckily they replaced it the first time free ( after a lot of hassle). It was a year or so later that the same thing happened and since I was out of warranty, I was stuck with it. I love my Tahoe and spent a crazy amount of money on it, but the materials they use are so cheap. At 82,000 miles, I’ve not had any major mechanical issues ( knock on wood), but the cosmetic stuff is ridiculous. Tabs wearing of on a/c controls, ugly rust looking side moldings ( even though it’s not metal, chrome like handles peeling. I could go on and on. It’s a shame that a $44k vehicle had this many cosmetic issues. I had my Toyota Highlander for 8 years and the only thing I ever had to fix was an O2 sensor. The suv looked brand new inside and out. I wish I could say the same about my Tahoe. I love the look of the new Tahoe’s , but sadly I won’t be buying another GM product.
    Sorry to go on and on, but I wanted to share the information in case others are having the same issues with their Tahoe’s. There are lots of posts about this and other issues on the service bulletin on NHTSA ( they’ve changed their site menu and it is so hard to navigate now. This isn’t a “safety issue “ ,but they used to have a complaint page.

      Shannon Lindsey I have the same complaint with my GMC Yukon Denali package that cost me multiple thousands of dollars to purchase brand new to only get cheap wood grain trims and rattling noises from all over the interior when rolling over bumps sad to say but I will not be buying a newer model whenever it comes time to replace it

    You should start the video with driving the car. That way we can hear if it's the same sound/symptom that we're dealing with. Thank you, though. I'll figure it out.

    Nice video. How can I stop the rattling from my rear ac controls up in the headliner on my tahoe? My subwoofers have loosened it quite a bit

    • @YourCarGuyDR
      @YourCarGuyDR  Před 3 lety +1

      Jon Valera you will likely need to pull the controls and possibly the headliner in order to get them reattached properly

      Just turn the subs up louder until you can't hear the rattle anymore. Simple fix.

  • @darladunn875
    @darladunn875 Před 4 lety +2

    Would be great if we could hear what the rattling sounds like before doing all that so we would know if that's what we need to do.

    You didn't have to remove the vent cover. You could have lifted it up since the tab was broken anyway and applied the velcro. Also why not use black velcro strips so the velcro isn't as noticeable?

  • @bilspivey1816
    @bilspivey1816 Před 6 lety +1

    Why can't you apply the strips without removing the dash?

    • @YourCarGuyDR
      @YourCarGuyDR  Před 6 lety +1

      Bil Spivey it could be done without removing the dash. But I like having room to work.

      agreed, but its fixed, and his dash is cracked, like so many, chances are he will be getting a dash cover.
