- I got my Freedom Shields Windscreen in the mail. This time it's the 7" touring style windscreen in medium grey tint. A quick install a long ride at all speeds including highway speeds to check if the windshield solves my wind buffeting problems. I also test the sound improvement thanks to the wide design.
After 4 attempts to try and solve my wind buffet problems on my 2020 Harley Electra Glide Standard and replacing the windscreen with the Freedom Shields windscreen - did I finally succeed? Watch the end to see my thoughts and conclusions .

I just installed exact same windshield 7” Medium Gray Touring width. It works very well, before the wind was hitting my ear’s really bad making me death at high speed with 9” wave windshield I had. Now I can go 80-90mph even without glasses wearing half helmet and very comfortable. Not much wind noise and minim buffering from wind. I’m 5.7 and that size worked perfect for me. If there is less buffeting on and around your head, then there is much less noise. If there is less noise, it makes the audio easier to hear clearly. It will not make the audio sound like a high end home stereo, because the system is incapable of that. But less buffeting means less noise which means clearer audio. Not better, but clearer. I appreciate your efforts in providing us with honest, your experienced information. A regular guy, just like most of us. Keep it up if you can.
Got a Freedom windshield myself.... the wider one like yours... but the gray tint... i absolutely love it... the biggest supprise i got ftom it..... i could hear everything better... including my music via Harley stero... the fellow at Freedom Sheilds was very helpful.... i have it on my FHLXS.... Ride safe...

Windshield looks good. Doesn't even look distorted as you eluded to even if you do look through it. I'm going to check one out for my Road glide. Now I'm looking right at the top edge of the stock windshield
I've seen a few reviews by you and I have to say you really seem exuberant and almost giddy while reviewing this windshield. I have been trying to find a way to reduce the buffeting effect while on my 2022 tri glide ultra. I have looked at several brands and designs but this great review has convinced me to try the Freedom Shield. Now I just have to get the measurement figured out so I can get the correct height.
I am on my second Freedom Shield windshield. Rode over 24,000 miles with it on my 2017 SGS 8” light grey tint. Just putting one on my brand new 2020 SGS. 8” light grey tint. Best product on the market. Highly recommend.

I agree . I just ordered a 8” wide and the shipping is the downsize . As light as these are , I don’t get the 37.00 shipping . They are stating about a 4 week shipping time .

Have a 2018 ultra limited.. same screen same tint, same height!!! Love it.. love the extra wide as well .. the touring edition I believe they call it!!

Hey Sandy do you have your windshield vent open? That completely stops the buffeting on my road glide. Harley actually designed something that works.

Any windscreen that does the job is great
as much as i'd like to have the touring width, i just can't get past that gap on the side tabs.
just looks off... like it doesn't fit quite right.
regardless, a solid review. i'll probably be getting the standard width one.
How’s the medium grey at night? Can you see through it good? Or do you wish you went with the light grey?

Is your buffeting coming up from the tank. That's what I found on mine. I put on fork deflectors and now gone.

What antenna did you use i cant find one that will receive stations

How is the windshield? I have a 14 Harley street glide and can’t seem to find a windshield that doesn’t create a crazy amount of wind buffet on my helmet. I’m 6ft 2
Windshield is great - reduced the noise wind and buffering significantly! 👍🏻
@@HOLYSHIFT mine is aftermarket when I bought it just a straight up windshield 10” but the Buffet is horable. Even got a Amazon 7” wave windshield and was just as bad
