@Crazyi1993 - Conor has never been taken down by somebody who is 30 pounds heavier than him, nor the greatest grappler in MMA history. It's possible for Conor to get up, but it will require a lot of effort and energy.

Dom is missing one big thing. Conor being a southpaw means that Conor's lead leg will be exposed to Khabib single leg takedowns this is a major disadvantage for Conor. Conor will have to switch stances to avoid this otherwise that right leg is right there for the taking.
No matter which stance he decides to fight in he's getting taken down. He uses his stance for kicking and getting in range, neither of which he can do with his wide base. I feel sorry for him to be honest

@@nathanmitchell7961 If Chad Mendes can do double leg takedowns which are the most difficult but also the most explosive and energy sapping action, I doubt the best wrestler and grappler in the Lightweight division is going to struggle to get his bread and butter single leg takedowns which are easier to get but harder to get opponents to ground from. Conor will definitely throw leg kicks or at the very least kicks for distance control.

Conors strikiing is designed for MMA. There is a constant mind set for blocking take downs and clenching and striking. To switch over to straight boxing is hard. Maybe switching back is even harder.

Although I’m not a fan or Conor, I think he will somewhat school Khabib. I feel as if Khabib will “forget everything he knows” due to the emotions and enticipation of the fight. Khabib *wants* to maul Conor, and I think that’s where he loses. If Khabib had no personal attachment to this fight, I think he would have a higher chance of winning.
Just look at all of Conors major fights. He won against Aldo because Aldo was emotional, rushed in and didn’t stick to his game plan. He also won against what’shisname because what’shisname abandoned his game plan, due to emotions once again. Conor has said he doesn’t care about mental warfare, whether it’s true or not. His shit talking makes his fights personal, something Conor can deal with. Conor is that guy who talks shit to you and doesn’t think about the intent of his words, but you take it offensively so you start to hate the guy. That’s why Conor can stay so calm, it’s a regular fight at the end of the day. But his opponents go in wanting to rip his head off because they’ve taken his words deeply. Conor will win and make Khabib look like a lost amature, just like he did against what’shisname because Khabib will be full of emotions and enticipation just wanting to get a takedown.
If Khabib and Conor were facing eachother without the trash talking, bus incident, family/camp history and hadn’t really known much of eachother, Khabib would win. Khabib will lose via mental warfare.
