- A continuation of the Bill Haley Brazil Tour 1975-Part 2. Note: Video footage is copied "as is" from the news crew footage, which accounts for the songs selected and the abrupt cut-offs, particularly on the ending of "Rock Around The Clock". The actual concert was 45 minutes. Haley was brought to Brazil by promoter Manuel Poladian, as there was increased demand for his music among the young, due to "Happy Days" being aired on TV throughout Brazil!
Thanks for posting.
Poor old Rudy was gone a year later.
He was Bill`s best friend.
Only 4 to 5 months later. He still put on a serious show, though. He was the greatest sax man down to the end. May he continue to sleep in peace and Bill Haley as well.
What does that mean?
The great Bill Haley and his Comets did a show in a amusement park called Playcenter in Sao Paulo Brazil in 1975 and I was there..I loved the show and I love Bill Haley!
Muito obrigado!
Bill Haley looks so great nice fantastic guy, man when we will see somebody like him this days?
@snooperx Hi Snoop--I'm the guitar player in this video, and on some of the other concerts on this tour, Bill Haley actually did play private youth sports clubs--and the audience really was young school-age children! This was probably the last time he had ever played to audiences of pre-teens. The TV show "Happy Days" was shown throughout Brazil, so that's how even the youngest children knew who he was!
Awesome performance. Even though Rudy Pompilli obviously was seriously ill he still gave his all. Been seeing this footage for years here on CZcams. Please keep it. It's music history.
Believe it or not I was there that day, I was 14 years old I will never forget

What does that mean?
On that 1975 Brasil tour, there was only one other filmed concert--it took place the very next night after this--in Piracicaba at the Guaira Teatro, which would be October 27 1975. It was probably the local TV station that filmed it--and they filmed the entire concert as I remember it.
By the way--the promoter of this entire tour was Manuel Poladian of Sao Paulo!
Thanks for your post.
I just can't believe that Bill Halley made a gig in Brazil... in 1975... that's unbelieveble...
He did an earlier tour of Brazil in the early1960s as well. on this 1975 tour--it was the last time Bill had audiences actually consisting of young children--as a number of the performance venues were at private youth clubs! This was due to the popularity of "Happy Days" on TV plus "American Grafitti" in the movies...
Sad the see Rudy ill, trying to reach the highest notes. RIP Rudy.
See you later Bill in sky, R.I.P.
wonderful stuff bill still at the top of his game
There were not actually children, mostly seemed to be teenagers and older people. Nice to know that Bill played here! Great footage!

I think they did the best RIP IT UP rendition of the history!
@RockabillyBlues85 Well, it was great up until Rudy Pompilli succumbed to cancer. He was dying in this video....He passed away in February 1976, and after that happened everything just went downhill fast with this whole band.
muito obrigado!
Sorry to hear that, but you have to know this was a great band, man! You are sounding OK here!!!
Thanks crisnich!
Sorry, no comprende...en Ingles, por favor.
Muchos gracias/Muito obrigado
Concordo...
Hi crisnich!
Can you translate those two replies at the top for me?
Thanks!
