On the other, it's perplexing how the man you met clearly stated his intentions for a green card, and every move thereafter was to achieve that goal. While I respect his determination, considering your family's well-being, my advice is to separate, forget, and move on, as you mentioned he has nothing more to offer. No need for gratitude; his sole objective was reaching America. The sooner you realize this, the better off you'll be. I went the extra mile to learn the Twi language, which helps me catch onto what they're saying when they think I don't. My close friends there are aware of my Twi proficiency, but others who don't know me always try to pull a fast one until I switch to Twi; then, their whole attitude changes. By the way, I'm not African. I'm just a regular black dude born and raised in Philly. But I got mad respect in ghana.

My take - date yourself. Spend the money on you and your children but date yourself because you’re worthy and worth it. Also it’s ok to be single. You can further connect with family, friends and community and still have a full life. It may be harder to meet someone when you’re in a higher income range of similar income, so it may take some time. It’s better to remain single until you meet someone who genuinely loves, cares about you and treats you well. And maybe when you meet him, y’all can travel the world and share your experiences with us.

I do have self esteem issues and the men I was with didn’t make it any better. I remember Kevin use to say I was mediocre at best. And that every woman he was with looked better then me. Neither one of them complimented me or wanted to tell me how good I was in anything. I felt like they needed me. I cared too much so I continued to do for them. They had no one but me. It’s like I’m attracted to broken men, cause all my life everyone was broken. The more I loved them the more They pushed them away and the more ungrateful they became.
