  • Should I dig it? I was asked if someone should avoid all signals with grunts, and not dig them. UMMMM, that is a very tough question, and the answer is- It depends! Hopefully I can help you out on ways to decide if you should dig, using slag as an example. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Link to Simplex + Owners Group- / 286630469068377

What a great video! Really informative.
Just found your channel today and the first video I watch you've mentioned my videos! Thanks for that. It was my first Charles II so wasn't aware it was an unusual signal. I find 2ps can be anywhere from 80 to 90 in the fields I'm in here.
Have subscribed and look forward to watching your previous and future videos!
    Happy hunting! 😃😎👍🏻

Such an informative video Guru, watched it yet again as I’m so new. I understood everything you were saying about iron grunts in field mode bashing grass stumps and the like. I dig so much iron on my first organised dig last Sunday, I’m going to try park 1&2 tomo on mates permission and adjust sensitivity and back up with other mode checks. Thanks for your great work and vids 👍🏻👍🏻

circle the target and see which tone dominates--especially with a shortened sweep. even chains can be recognized that way--a good conductor amongst bad ones. I like your enthusiasm--keep digging --clive!

Great job covering the famous 4 signal we Simplex users trust is iron. I've never dug any 4 signals so I can't say for sure that they are in fact iron. However I've dug numerous 97 98 and sometimes 91 signals that were huge iron and yet gave no grunt. I'm thinking I should notch out the high 90's signals to avoid this dilemma. 95 and up, what are your thoughts? Have you ever had a 95 or up signal that was something other than large iron ? Thanks for another video, Garnet.

Hi Garnet, thank you for your comments and question. I’ve dug 04 as part of a bouncy signal, and as a solid signal to check, back when I was starting out. It’s always been iron for me. Re notching out 95+. I wouldn’t, UNTIL you know a field. This is because I have a field that has coal/ slag/ charcoal, some sort of burnt waste in it, and the identifier for the bouncy signals there is 95/96! It’s not a 19-20 or grunty with the bright sounds, it is 95/96 with the bright sounds. If I had it always notched out, I wouldn’t know this. Once you know your field, and know it’s not needed, then it wouldn’t hurt, but I wouldn’t do it until then. Hope that makes sense, any more questions, please ask :)

Here in Canada I’ve dug coppers that rang in at 85-90. only happened a couple times. most ring in at 65-75. I blamed it on the soil 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sounds beautiful doesn't it? Even with the sweet background noise targets should still stick out like dogs ball's lol 😊👍🏻

I just received the SP24 coil for my Simplex went to the Library to use their computer to update my Simplex as I don't have a computer.
Unfortunately the Library Computer won't allow the PDF download..Can I use my SP24 coil without any updates until I can figure out away to the use of a computer??
I trust you since you are to me the most versed with the Simplex+.
Thank you so much for all you do for us Simplex+ owners/users.

Hi Lori, Would it not be simpler for Nokta to add a menu item for selecting coils? If "SP24" is selected then the software would use the "sp24" sub-code and if I choose SP28 then it uses SP28 code; this way there would be no mucking around with various update selections for different coils. better yet, with an ID in the coil, the soft auto-select the routine to use...no user intervention.
