Looking for help with your new Nokta Makro Simplex+? Lori (from 3 Tones and the Truth) has started this channel to assist new owners. I aim to show you how to get the best from your hot rod detector, when to use what mode, how to interpret what your machine is telling you, and how to minimise chatter.
Despite the name, I do not know everything about this machine, but I have spent 100s of hours with the Nokta Makro Simplex+, on all types of ground and in the water. I have studied 100s of hours of video by worldwide Simplex users. I have a personal understanding of what it is like to be brand new to detecting, but with a thoroughbred racehorse detector.

HUGE APOLOGIES for the wind noise in the video, I have dropped the volume and put on subtitles in an attempt to lessen the effect. It does come and go, but the tones of the machines ARE audible. My aspects are a bit so over the place, it's been a while, and I forgot about keeping the camera in landscape. A reasonably scientific test explores the performance of 4 machines to see how each interprets a selection of signals in a field. A member of the Simplex owners group was having difficulties with his new SP24 coil, and reverted to using the stock coil when the smaller one could not locate 3/4 inch buried coins on a hunt. I was curious about the performance of both coils. It has been a while since I tested them against one another, so headed out to my local (trashy) park, and filmed a test of the two coils.

I took the two detectors out for a short spin on an old pathway. How do they compare? What does the Legend sound like, compared to the Simplex in the same mode? Do they find the same things, are the signals comparable? We want to know!! Caveat- I forgot the stock coil for the Simplex, so she has the Detekt 13" on, I dropped her sensitivity to counter this. The long delayed part three of my 1 March 2022 detecting trips. Would you consider the Simplex Ultra an upgrade from the original Simplex? Do you know how applicable the videos about the Simplex are to the Simplex Ultra?

Hello, I just came across your channel while watching your video on the importance of ground balancing the simplex. I thought that "Pub" metaphor was pretty good. I just bought the Simplex Ultra 3 weeks ago and have been having an issue with a lack of depth and to many signals. I will be applying what i learned from your video about ground balancing later today and i really hope it improves my experience with the simplex ultra. I was wondering if you have used the simplex ultra, from just a quick look at your videos I do see you also use the Legend.

*Hello Lori, if you have a moment... please can you give your opinion what it means when the numbers are constantly jumping and then going to "_ _" .* The depth bars show at the deepest. The beeps are strong and there is only one or two beeps per number flash. There's none of the 'iron grunting" / whining sort of bleeps.... The whole area I am practicing on is doing this. At this rate I'll have the entire garden dug up. [KIT: Nokta Makro Simplex+ on v 2.78]

Hi my simplex plus started chattering on all modes after i for the first time used it in the beach like two minutes after the coil being wet it started to chatter even if its far from the ground it chatters what can i do help please

Great video. Both good machines. Id say the simplex was spot on with th jumpy numbers as you had a few different grades of metals in one hole making her go mad 😂

Yes, I believe you will, as you have to factory reset after you update the machines. I can't be certain, but I think that will wipe all of your custom settings. It wiped my regular settings. I don't use custom profiles, but I think they would go too. Sorry 😔
@@thesimplexguru1263 thank you for the nice reply. I’ve uploaded 1.15 now and put my profiles back in. Plus made a profile for beast mode and saved it. Did do a field test the other day and wasn’t sure if it was any deeper tbh. How you getting on with deep target which obviously can be used with your original park cultivated etc. I’m having issues with depth as it’s not making any difference on 6in down targets on my test bed and won’t pick out anything 8in down re coins. Anyway I’m out today on fresh ploughed so will flick between profiles and do a proper assessment. Happy hunting🙌🏻👍🏻

Tuning is key and least gain is often most, if you can get away with it; you know it.. My eldest maid has married into a big local farming family since last we spoke, so I'm still swingin' my t'ings alone and free in the big wide open, and getting away with it; thus far. These names tags eh: Beast, Thor, Odin, Zeus, Atilla; even God . Whatever next? The Escobar mode for coke ridden ground? 👍

If your not going near the beach the Simplex+ and new ultra are great machines and you probably wont need to upgrade. If you plan on going to the beach often a Multi Frequency machine will be far better. The new Nokta Score series or Minelab Vanquish series are good beginner beach detectors.
Hi Mr Jackson, couldn't agree more, the original Simplex + can certainly be a sparky girl on the beach. I have had success hunting with it, but if there is sea coal or hot rocks... Yikes. Multi frequency absolutely works better for that. Thanks for your comment!
A little confused. Both 1.14 v1 and v2 are beta. The v2 was done to when you went to beast mode it automatically changed it to A mode. As it only works on gold settings in M beast mode A. So if you're running 1.14 and he is running 1.14 you running the same. Unless you have switched it DT off or not using beast mode
Hi Steve, sorry for the confusion. Nokta themselves used the term beta for the 1.14 version 2. I think it was meant to be beta (V2), as opposed to the 1.14 alpha (version 1). A Vs B. Dilek with Nokta was specific that they didn't consider the first 1.14 a "beta" version, they considered it a finished version that they would only tweak if required. It was not beta (test) in their eyes. Perhaps, that is why they said beta for version 2, they thought of version 1 as the alpha one. I used the term Nokta did, to differentiate between Nevyn's update, he is on version 2, and myself, still on version 1. Our machines are on different incarnations of 1.14. Apologies for the confusion! 🫤👩🏻🦰
@thesimplexguru1263 if you watch yhe video on thir page Dilek says it was a Beta version 1 8th April (just watched it again) she said it many times and also stated that once all bugs are sorted they will release a final version. It's all good just that there is no difference in v1 to v2 apart from v2 makes when gping beast mode it goes straight to A mode. Where as v1 it didn't and beast mode only works on A mode
@thesimplexguru1263 and they have no confirmed that Beta 1 and 2 have been removed from their website and after a few tweaks they will release another version 😁

Yeah, mine too, unfortunately. I've had a friend look at it, but it's an integral unit with no user maintenance option. I will contact nm about getting a new speaker unit, but until then, it's headphones only. There were no loose wires. 😔

My question is there a reason to turn on Beast Mode and on hunting with it? I have yet to see a benefit of it...
I have not had a positive difference that I can see, yet. If I find a reason, I'll advise. Thank you for asking!
Also, see Michael Williams comment below, he has found that it has less chatter in deep target (NOT beast) mode, in single frequency use.
Hi. Love you videos. Learning a great deal as a result. I've got sp24 coil. Just wondering if it is also worth buying the sp22 coil? Advantages/disadvantages of sp22 vs sp24? Seen sp22 for sale for £40. Should I buy? Thanks.
Hi Neill, I did do a video ages ago about this, in depth, but in short, possibly. That's a great price and will always be useful to have multiple options for your machine. You can also use it as an almost sniper type coil. I can't say if they are as good as the sp24, having never had one. But I believe they should be. So, if you've got the £40, yeah, options. If it's a stretch, you don't NEED it. Hope this helps!

Hi Ian, I haven't tried that one. I think it will perform as well as the 24, but do you need it? If you have the money, options are always good to have. But if you have the sp24, it will be a perfect all in one, if budget is tighter. Hope this helps. 👩🏻🦰

I have been testing and and working closely communicating with dilek and the engineers working out many problems, one of them is what you mention in this video plus high averaging on targets, and many other places the version can be improved, especially in BM program, before the alpha release. Keep them coming, have missed your content. 👨🦯
