The World Rose: richardbrittain.wordpress.com/... Tchaikovsky's famous piece, from the Nutcracker suite. (Picture: "The Fairies' Dance", c. 1870, by Richard Doyle)
It has such a mysterious, spooky, almost ominous feeling to it, but at the same time is calming and beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite classical pieces and ballet dances.
It was, like many of its kind, used as a soundtrack in our cartoons when we were kids; we had no idea it was classical music. Sadly, it's a different world now.
Honestly listening to the classical music in cartoons is what introduced me to and ultimately made me to fall in love with classical music. Little Einsteins did a great job at including a variety of songs and teaching it to the audience.
Listening to this music, I like to picture myself walking around a well-decorated house on Christmas Day. There's a good meter of snow outside and someone's lit a fire in the fireplace I discovered this song watching Barbie & the Nutcracker when I was little, it's been one of my favourite pieces of classical music ever since.
Snow is beautiful until March and April when you can no longer get to the birdfeeders because you have snowplowed mountains of snow to keep your driveway somewhat open. Northwest Wisconsin.
I remember distinctly hearing this when I was incredibly young because it's been living in my head since I was around two and I associated it with pink streamers all my life but had no clue where it came from, and I finally found it. Nostalgia for a play I have never seen in my life.
There’s a thin veil hiding Truth. Thin, but impossible to penetrate. Listening to this is like looking through the keyhole, knowing that what’s behind the door could destroy us in an heartbeat.
This music seems so dark yet so mysterious. I have never heard anything like it and it gives me such a mysterious vibe that i am very terrified of, but everyone just calls me a little girl because i'm kind of scared of this music.
One of my favorite Christmas songs! I saw the Nutcracker Ballet in Chicago as a little girl, and I fell in ❤ with it! The song is enchanting and brings me back to my childhood!
I really love the Romantic approach to music, I love how mysterious and magical this sounds. I could use a ton of buzz words, but I think those two sum up my feeling toward this piece really well :D
What a splendid melody! My Grannie would listen to this on Christmas morning, and it has found a special place in my heart. Now that she's departed, I ensure it's played every Christmas morning without fail. My heart smiles each time I hear it now. Simply lovely, absolutely lovely.
Definition of artist: “when you are capable of improvising by achieving the full knowledge of your craft” which I’m sure Tchaikovsky was capable of, since he definitely achieved the full knowledge of music. He can most probably create a melody without even thinking, it’s as though he created music.
I don’t know if anyone agrees but this song sound exactly like the early hours to me lol. Like midnight to like 4AM. I have no idea how but it sounds just like the dead of night
This type of music brings healing to ones soul, we need to play this type of music in Congress, and in prisons and in hospitals all over this nation of ours.
I sincerely believe this timeless piece was elevated to it's height when it was brilliantly used within the scenes of the classic presentation known as The Ren and Stimpy show. lol. Seriously though, beautiful piece of music.
I first heard this piece when i was watching courage the cowardly dog.. that episode with the nutcracker i think.. i was so young that time but i really liked the music
Tchaikovsky can tell fairytales without saying any word :>>

That's what a celesta does to a human. One of my favorite instruments.

does anyone ever have a distinctive thought of wanting to go back to classical music like this just to hear how good it really is?
Classical music is the REAL music on earth.
This planet is ill nowadays..

i agree, its quite sad isnt it? often times these new composers just dont capture the magic that the classic ones did.
