There was no wet foot mat! Loads of people I know have a welcome mat or rug to clean shoes when going indoors. The kid/child was extremely respectful in trying to ensure he removed as much dirty from his shoes before going indoors. It's NOT his fault the hotel had no provisions for children or flat shoes. Even tho her kid was misbehaving all she asked for was her suite and they didnt even try to look just asked her to leave so technically she is in the right.
You're supposed to take away from this scene that she's obscenely wealthy and willing to buy a hotel to put someone in their place. Nobody said she's nice.
Respect is earned not given if you let your brat children do that then don't expect the people taking care of the place to respect you specially if you're supposed to be taking care of the place it's disrespectful to the staff and I wouldn't have acted any different minus the China town comment
The point of this scene is to show that she doesn't care about being "nice" or w/e. She is used to getting what she wants and is "crazy rich" to back it up. She's not a good guy and was never portrayed as such.
There was no reservation in the name she gave, and her husband DID refer to her as the NEW lady of the house. Was there a reason the hotel staff should have known who she was?
The hotel staff is just being racist. She called her husband to buy the whole hotel and became the new lady of the house. Lord Calthorpe just sold the hotel to them.
There was a reservation. They are insanely wealthy. When they weren't letting her take the room, she called her husband in China who then bought the entire hotel from Lord Calthorpe who showed up at the end. He wasn't her husband. He came down to tell the managers that she now owned the hotel.
That's not at all accurate to what was shown in this clip. That's not her husband, that's Mr. Calthorpe. She did have a reservation and they wouldn't take her seriously because of irritation from the behavior of her children and a touch of racism. Then she bought the hotel to put them in their place.
@@TheAzarak "touch of racism" in same sentence as "in their place" Did nobody mention that you're not in 19th century anymore? Are you still wondering why the serfs refuse to work your lawn for free and call police?😂
The woman is in the wrong, I wouldn't expect them to be wealthy/important when the child isn't trained in basic manners, He's literally marking his territory like an animal.
She wasn't in the wrong. She was a guest that had a reservation and the managers denied her room because they were racist. The kids were being a bit wild and making a mess but better there in the lobby than tracking it through the whole hotel, and still that doesn't warrant being turned back out in the rain when they had a reservation. The manager wouldn't even let her use the phone inside, made her walk to a payphone in the rain. So, she had her insanely wealthy husband buy the entire hotel building from Lord Calthorpe to prove a point.
@@SteveShanks Doesn't make any sense, no one is racist towards Asians anyway. I get the race war between black and whites but these people are trying to create something that's not there and trying to be victims.

Imagine showing racism to Asians by White when in reality racism comes from another group. Obviously this is a movie written by Non-Asians or Asians that did not grow up in the West.
It was a screen adaptation of a book by the sane name written by an Asian-American. Asians in the West experience racism from whites and other PoCs. Anti-Asian sentiment is found in white, Black, and Hispanic communities.
