My Ali Story. 1980 I’m in Kindergarten. Philly kid, we fight for fun. I lost a fight. Had a black eye. Old man says what happened to your face. I say I was in a fight. He says. “Did you win?” I looked at him ashamed, and said no. He says that’s ok even Ali lost, but he kept fighting. Ali was my hero. That old man made me walk proud with my black eye. Shout out to him. Sure he’s in a better place, but he changed a kids day, maybe a kids life.

I was a child in great Ormond Street hospital in London back in the 70's when Muhammad Ali visited the children's hospital and he sent up American ice cream cake to the wards, he made my day I will never forget meeting him, bless you Muhammad Ali ❤ your a legend, he took time out of his busy schedule to visit the sick children and staff at great Ormond Street hospital and really lifted our spirits that day ❤

How is it possible that one of the greatest athletes that ever lived is also one of the greatest men who ever lived? Ali was a hero for the ages. Strong, compassionate and powerful. The sacrifice he made to give up three of the best years of his athletic life to stand up for his beliefs is just about incomprehensible for this generation. He was truly "The People's Champion". Saving suicide jumpers from high rise buildings, negotiating the release of political prisoners... he was a remarkable man. Later in life his plane would touch down at an airport somewhere in the world and hundreds of thousands of people would gather just to see him. He has a trademark for "The Greatest of All Time", and that couldn't be more apt.
