ジウジアーロがデザインしたモダンでエレガントな4ドアセダンのテーマ。
1988年に登場した8気筒32バルブを意味する8.32は、フェラーリ308クアトロヴァルヴォーレ用のエンジンを搭載。
星型ホイールや格子状フロントグリルなどフェラーリのデザインを踏襲し、運転席のスイッチで任意に上下出来る電動のリヤウイングが備えられた。
内装は、高級家具メーカー、ポルトローナ・フラウがデザイン・製作した本革トリムとアルカンターラを天井に用いたり、アフリカン・ローズウッドのパネルを用いるなど、豪華に仕立てられていた。
1990年にはフェーズ2と呼ばれるフェイスリフトが行われ、細長の4灯式ヘッドライトや太いサイドモールとスカート等に変更され、搭載される水冷V型8気筒DOHC32バルブエンジンは、2926ccの排気量から、最高出力200ps(147kW)/6750rpm、最大トルク26.8kg・m(262.8N・m)/5000rpmを発揮した。
★Lancia Theme 8.32 (Phase 2)
A modern and elegant 4-door sedan theme designed by Giugiaro.
The 8.32, which means an 8-cylinder 32 valve that appeared in 1988, is equipped with an engine for the Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole.
Following the Ferrari's design, such as star-shaped wheels and a grid-shaped front grille, it was equipped with an electric rear wing that could be moved up and down arbitrarily with a switch on the driver's seat.
The interior was luxuriously furnished, with genuine leather trim and Alcantara designed and manufactured by luxury furniture maker Portorona Frau on the ceiling, and African rosewood panels.
In 1990, a phase lift called Phase 2 was carried out, which was changed to slender four-light headlights, thick side moldings and skirts, etc. The maximum output was 200ps (147kW) at 6750rpm, and the maximum torque was 26.8kgm (262.8Nm) at 5000rpm.

Great Italian car and Thema was a leader on the way in that period. Now Lancia is almost dead because Fiat decided to use its energy for Alfa Romeo
