At least using it on subdivide gets him more dice.
@@DarkRaen666 I'd actually argue that on some of those turns, using it on subdivide granted him way more damage than furying anything else
The worst part is it wasn't always a bad choice - just an unintentional one

NL actually flooded his deck so he couldn't use the 2 ways he had to get fury? very often and even when he triggered fury? he'd rarely draw a disabled card on the next turn. He also never removed bloat. His deck was more built around cheap high damage and getting more dice. That is by no means a bad way to play, but it did mean he wasn't relying on fury? to any degree. In fact, he only ever used his fury? synergy 4 times in the entire run (although that was in part due to repeated misplays and one correct use killing on his first fury? play).
@@strifera I mean, Fury Subdivide is still 4 dice for the price of 1 which translated to 3-4 cards played minimum each time since NL always Fury Subdivided a 6 so I'd even say that outside the times where he could've sustained Fury and Subdivided at the same time, NL Furying Subdivide is a pretty ridiculous play.
Fury Subdivide is a good play, but Fury Ruff Ruff Ruff -> Fury Subdivide is arguably a better one since it deals 10 damage as well
@@jackeea_ Oh, yeah, defo, there were times like when he used Witch or one of the times he Subdivided where he could've gotten free damage first but it wasn't horrendous play and NL noticed his misplays for once.
You'd think he'd be mindful of the ? status effects given that he's been knocking out episode 5s back to back for a few episodes now
Ryan says he has the strongest run he's ever had in the game and yet he totally didn't get the synergy he had in his hands. Imagine how much stronger it would be if he'd planned it out properly
I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Eggy can't actually read and it's just an elaborate farce.
NL Using Fury on The Witch card by accident was the ultimate yell at my screen moment
i just realized i was screaming at my screen, lol
It wasnt totally bad though, because it caused the witch to be activated for the first round of each fight afterwards it seemed, and continued to do so if he played witch again that same turn (which he did often). It seemed like playing 2x of witch caused the effect to roll over to the next battle.
No, it was absolutely a misplay - Witch? doesn't wear off if you beat the enemy with it active, because of how the code works. Absolutely a bug though

@@guywhocomments1393 usually some of them can be a little tricky but the second you use it if you pay attention you should learn almost immediately

Him not using the dog cards in the correct order bothered me all video because Egg just kept complaining about them without using them properly but still good vid Egg.

Sometimes I worry about him. Like it's so obvious what the right move is, but he just kind of randomly decides to not do it? Galaxy brain has nothing on egg brain.
Maybe it would have helped if woof woof read "gain fury" instead of just describing fury's effect.
@@Gorm169 The thing that makes it Egg Brain is the fact that he knew EXACTLY what it did. From the beginning he knew how he was supposed to play it, but the Egg Brain prevented him from ever doing it right.

Jester rarely punishes misplays. That character should be rated at 2 difficulty.

I gotta say, watching this episode was like watching someone receive a rocket launcher and use it as a war hammer ^^'
Yes, it was powerful but think about how much more powerful it could have been had you tailored it correctly
I mean, you used to be the thin deck daddy in slay the spire and yet, with the jester, you keep on adding cards that have restrictions and/or no synergies simply because "they return the dice".
While you did show it was more powerful then I'd ever give it credit to, I found it much more enjoyable (and powerful) to keep the deck to a minimum (especially when using Fury) so that once you gain Fury, you can play the rest of the turn in Fury (which usually ends the fight in the opponents early demise ^^)
Anyway, thanks for the videos as always, hope you see all the comments here so that you can further improve your quality plays ;)
Just because you prefer a style of play doesn't make your way the Only Correct Way, though. Misplays aside, stacking cards that return dice IS good to fill your deck with since on snap you get free dice, and there's no real detriment to filling your deck with them as long as you maintain a lot of duplicate cards for snap synergy. ";) ^^"
Having a thin deck of only fury cards isn't exactly better since you're still limited to the amount of dice you have, like. what you're gonna spend 2 dice on fury and then just have one leftover dice for like 10 dmg at most? and besides, you can't exactly just swap out cards on a whim. If you're gonna backseat you should probably know how the game works first, especially since you admit his build was more powerful than you thought
@@DjAirsurfer you need two dices only until you upgrade woof, then you have cards like yip which gives a dice back while keeping your fury going. Having a thin fury deck does allow you to deal 20 damage pretty consistently and, on snaps, usually ends the fight, at least that's what the wins I've had with the Jester tends to show ^^. Now backseating was not my aim, I only wished to tell what I felt when watching and why I felt that way.
@@DjAirsurfer that is the whole dilemma, you don't always get a chance to snap these dice returning cards, and when they require a dice below or above a certain threshold, they may prevent you from playing the next cards and make you end your turn with a few dices left. You are right when saying that there isn't just one correct way of playing but if you don't share with others your own way then how can they improve? Watching this run made me realize that dice creation was indeed more powerful than I gave it credit to but does that mean I need to seek a deck with ten return dice card in it? I hope not^^
I'm not gonna lie the subdivide investment was a 200 IQ move that I thought was terrible at first.

Everybody's losing their minds about suboptimal fury choices, but the real tragedy with NL not duplicating not great cards. The reason to duplicate as Joker is to help with Snap! Sure, subdivide isn't a terrible snap (get four 3s) but there are better options.
And this is ignoring how good some of the base upgrades are, but I don't think we'll ever get NL to look at those. ;)

Inventor is OP but not fun, Witch is weak but a blast to play IMO. Witch gets a huge power boost in episode 5/6 though.
NL actually likes him and want to finish series with 10 videos about him. Doing ep 5 or trying ep 4 once otherwise would make more sense

Honestly I’m starting to actually like Episode 5, it’s worse than episode 1 but at least it isn’t that reliant on luck THAT much. Also the new items are mostly cool
Between the constant misplays nearly every turn and the game being more broken than I have EVER seen it, this episode drove me absolutely insane
I think you can just play episode 5 of Witch and Inventor and come back to 4 later.
Just skip witch and inventor 4 and do their 5th episode first. You dont need to do them in order

I'd play the inventor over the robot any day. Jester is the most fun, warrior is a little boring but parallel universe adds some fun stuff, thief is kinda boring but has some interesting decks, robot is the worst character, inventor has the strongest abilities in the game and when used properly just decimates people, witch is okay. She's hard (for me at least) but I like her unique playstyle.
Anyway. Robot is the worst, Inventor is better.

Why does NL respect scaling in Slay the spire, but completely disrespects it in Dicey? I swear he hates to use scaling items just because they start out small. *sigh*

please only play dicey dungeon as long as youre having fun. dont feel like you need to win every chapter on all characters because you will hate to record it and it wont be fun to watch

THe concept of you skipping certain people to keep your morale at a certain level by only doing the people you like will eventually be you doing people you hate and only losing. Should space it out with a class u dont like and once you get tired or beat it move onto one you do like and then back to one u dont or your gonna end up with 200 episodes of anger instead of splitting it.
Honestly dude, as funny as it is to see you pretilted, the games where you kick the AIs butt are more fun.
