Had ours for a year and didn't use it as much as I thought I would ,thennnn, I took out 3 32 gallon garbage bags of stuffing and now I can't stay out of it. After a year of use, it is now perfect. Wow what a difference!

How was the smell? Did you have to air it out due to foam smell?
The cat might be sniffing the fumes that the microfiber is treated with.
Try to choose cotton linen or wool or natural fibers to avoid toxic fumes (or wash them many times and aireate them as it will reduce the toxic fumes significantly)
