      Thank you! Plumbago seem to put up with abuse brilliantly. I have had some in same pot for maybe 10 years and they still thrive. They root easily from cuttings though will be rooting some as soon as I have enough new growth.🐇

    • @bunnyguinness
      @bunnyguinness  Před 2 lety

      Do you mean the lichen type colour on the doors and windows? We repainted them about 14 years ago and are just about to repaint. I seem to remember it was a lichen/stone colour I copied from a friend. I use Jotuns Demi desk as the repaint interval is around 12 years and they can copy other colours. I have just chosen a French grey with a hint of lilac like you see a bit in Provence for the next repaint. Sorry I can’t give you an exact shade.🐇

    I believe the lovely Angels Trumpet is a brugmansia rather than a datura.

    • @bunnyguinness
      @bunnyguinness  Před 3 lety +3

      These were Daturas and then they went back and forth between Brugmansias and Daturas, yes you are right Paul, they are brugmansias now. When I first grew them they were Daturas, so I am old fashioned and incorrect, sorry should use current name.

    • @paultsworld
      @paultsworld Před 3 lety

      I see what you mean Bunny - I agree with you that it's the name we grew up with that holds the resonance and feels 'right'. I'm relatively new to them so I've only known them as Brugmansias.

    • @janehutterli5112
      @janehutterli5112 Před 3 lety +1

      We lived in Auckland, NZ, for several years where datura grows prolifically. Some people there make datura 'tea' for its hallucinogenic effects. Highly addictive & toxic. I believe it was banned from sale.

      They are plumbagos! Amazing plants got through the winter in the Uk here in usda zone 8, though people often think they are not hardy. You can train. Against a wall and they flower for 3-4 months 😊

    Aren't these fires dangerous with children in the garden ????

  • @margaretd3710
    @margaretd3710 Před 3 lety

    Be very careful with Angels Trumpets!! They are poisonous so you have to make sure that children and your pets aren't able to get to them and eat the leaves or flowers. -- I think they are absolutely beautiful, but I got rid of mine when I learned how poisonous they are. I raise other beautiful flowers and admire the beauty of Angels Trumpets in someone else's yard.

    • @pinkpeony2056
      @pinkpeony2056 Před 3 lety

      Yes, Margaret, I remember a case in Florida where a couple of students tried to poison their teacher with brugmansia. This was many years ago. The plants and blossoms are quite beautiful. If heavily, heavily mulched they can survive zone 6 in the US if the winter is mild. As long as you don't make a tea of it or smoke it, you should be fine.

    You should be ashamed talking about "atmosphere, cover, light etc" and how to create them. If I had the kind of money I suspect you do (judging from the size of your little garden and your humble shed in it) I would just hire somebody to decorate it and another person to present it with the proper way in a video...
