Those storms can be awful. I live in Michigan near Lake Michigan and we get them often. Not usually twisters through. I believe we are more protected by the dunes and the twisters are more common to the east of us.

First of all Mary, Iâm so thankful that your family are safe after such a scary storm. I once had an old hemlock fall on our house and itâs so unnerving! So glad that your garden party stayed on the schedule. Just the other day I was thinking that itâs about time foe Maryâs outside luncheon with her friends/family. I bet your cousins ooh and aahâd when they saw your porch! Of course theyâd want to go in and see your beautiful home! Your white fabric reminds me of the dotted Swiss us girls wore when going to school when I was in school. When I was in school we wore dresses, skirts and tops. I loved dressing up for school. I even like dressing up now. I wear casual dresses at home now.

Mary, I have been making a really nice summer mixed drink for about 40 years, itâs so simple and how I know itâs good, men actually like it.
You need 2 liters of ginger ale, 1 large can of pineapple juice, itâs a 2 to 1 ratio, so I bottle of ginger ale to 1/2 can of pineapple juice. I just recently made it for Memorial Day family gathering. My adult grandson couldnât get enough of it, I left extra ginger ale and juice for him, he said he mixed more the next day. A friend of mine had gone to lunch at an Asian restaurant in our city of Simi Valley, Ca. and she asked what
they had in the way of a refreshing beverage, and this is what they gave her along with the recipe. Also a co worker was retiring and I took my beautiful silver punch bowl and ladle and I refilled that several times with that juice, and I also made a fruit filled ice ring for it, but thatâs not really necessary, anyway, the people in line for more âpunchâ were the men. đ€ To taste test it, you could buy just an individual can of ginger ale and small cans of pineapple. Your table looks so lovely! Oh, I just thought of a couple of other recipes, one for an appetizer, blanch some sugar snap peas, cut along the top vein, fill with crab salad, and a dip for fruit, instant vanilla pudding mixed with orange juice until itâs the consistency of a dip. I see now that you managed to have your garden party without my help!đđđđđđ How funny is John! Sounds like one of my neighbors, one canât get a word in edgewise but still enjoy her company.

So glad you didn't have any major damage from the storms. I live in Fort Wayne IN and I was also fortunate to not have any damage from that big storm, but SW Fort Wayne and surrounding areas had a lot of damage, trees uprooted, trees fallen on and through houses and power outages. It was intense, a picture on my bedroom wall even rattled as It shook the whole house.
They clocked the wind at the airport at 98 miles per hour. Most ever. It damaged one of the airport hangers of which made the national CBS morning news, I was shocked to hear the name of my city on the national news the next morning.

Once again, another lovely garden table setting. So glad the tornado wasn't too bad at your place. We had a tree fall on our neighbour's house while they were eating dinner last year. They were out of their home almost a year till it got fixed. There are so many old huge trees near us. We don't get tornadoes but we do get really high winds and storms. Your so fast getting your place cleaned up.

Good morning Mary :) Your garden party looked just dreamy, and I love the sweet touch of a little fairy rose on each bundle of utensils. I can imagine all the chatting that went on, my and cousins and I could talk forever and a day when we get together. Iâm in north central Kentucky and we got those storms as well, and my goodness did they pack a punch! A friend of ours had a tree fall on her house and it did extensive damage, I feel so badly for her. We lost power for quite a while but thank goodness, it wasnât long enough to lose our food in the fridge and freezer. Weâre actually looking into having a tornado shelter built as our house is built on a slab foundation and the storms we have around here are quite scary at times!

I'm so glad nobody was hurt when the storms went through. It's very scary at the time. I'm in Alberta and we've been having some doozies here too, and no doubt plenty more before summer is over. Last February our front yard 50 year old blue spruce came down in a storm but just missed our house, landing on the front of the garage because the winds were west to east and the house is oriented north and south. We were lucky just to have a couple of small holes in the roof easily repaired but I was very sad about my tree. Now I have a stump right in the middle of my front yard so I planted perennials around it and shrubs where we couldn't before. This year we're having to have the tree people come back and prune dead branches from the ash trees closer to the sidewalk, where they were damaged by the spruce falling. I hate it when trees come down. I'm glad too that your garden party was a success, as I knew it would be. We just pick ourselves up and get back on the horse when troubles knock us down and you're such a great example to us in that regard. Have a good summer Mary! Thankfully our gardens usually recover except for our lovely trees but we can plant again.
