Over 300,000 people have completed the Google Data Analytics certificate so using it as your sole indicator that you are competent in Data Analytics may result in a very difficult time finding a job. Employers want a candidate that has experience and proof of their skills. The exams and certificates mentioned in this video will show that you know the knowledge that you write on your resume but you need multiple tools in your belt to stick out. You need at least 5 to 8 quality case studies in your profile and be able to speak of these case studies in details during your interview. You also need to find out what companies you want to work for and determine what applications and tools do they use for Data Analytics. All companies are not equal with what they use and you need to tailor your skills and certifications that align with the companies you want to work for. Same goes for industry. If you want to get into the automotive industry you need to be knowledgeable about that industry.

To sum everything up, it’s going to be difficult to find a remote data analyst job with 0 experience but it’s ofcourse possible but if you are just limiting yourself to remote positions you are going to make you job search more difficult.

Is 37 too old to become a data analyst? Ive read that ageism is rife within the industry. Also, would you recommend learning Tableau as well as Power BI or will one suffice?

You keep making the case about certificate vs certification, but googling most of these is just another "certificate included" not actual certification...

If you have to pass some examination with the possibility of failing and having to retake it either for free for only a certain amount of attempts or pay to take the exam again, they’re more than likely certifications he is referring to. Certificates are merely given as completion with little examination that faces you unlimited tries at the most part.

Certs don’t matter. I don’t recommend getting more than one cert. They’re only the cherry on top as a portfolio with projects is the true determining factor to demonstrating skills

Don’t agree with this list…. So much a data cert and most important job security cert are security certs like CISSP Security+ and CASP
