The painting is by Ivan Aivazovsky (Ship on Stormy Seas), I've gotten a lot of comments about this.
2:18 Like a raspberry under the tongue.
Very well said!
The reverb and slowed down version gives it so much depth… like it makes it so more dramatic. Crazy song
I love the picture of the ship and this beautiful piece by Chopin.
Definitely the best version I've ever heard. The slow time gives to the music a sentimentalism. Only beatiful.
I've heard this piece about a thousand times, but somethnig about the slowed and reverbed version felt different. Brought me to tears; thank you for making this :)
I agree. This is an absolutely stunning piece of music and this version is close to perfection - the way Chopin developed the piece as if telling a story - a real ballad - is remarkable. And in addition to its beauty it has an elegance to it that is unmatched. Truly love it.
Maybe it’s because since the video had been slowed down the key is changed
5:28 that's so beautiful !
ofc ofc, i love the dominant 7ths
One of the best versions I've ever heard
Thanks to you
I'm glad you've enjoyed.
No matter what version it is, Your Lie In April ALWAYS comes to mind when I listen to this piece
Didn’t believe this would sound any good, but i have to admit its nice to listen to this while reflecting on past years. It adds a sort of ambience and reflecting feel to the piece :-)
Thank you! I'm glad the alterations I made were able to make you feel something special :)
i liked this so much, reverb is really good , i expected it would be too much but its perfect😍
I also worried about this, I thought the notes would get too muddy sounding but I think it sounds alright!
@@resonance6531 yeah🙌🙌
0:39 Sweetest part
That was fabulous!
Slowed version so much better ad reverb was iceing on the cake!
Cheers!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
i can play like 6 minutes of this piece
i learnt the coda in 5 weeks
UNDERRATED
Makes me feel the love I’ve never experienced before in my Filipino family.
Such a completely original, unique, and beautiful composition - have always loved it and wonder when it was first played in the U S and by whom. Had Chopin lived longer and been in better health it would have been great if he came to the U S and performed like Jenny Lind did (opera singer from that era). People here in the 19th century craved European culture and I believe pianos were common from the 1840s on.
Zimmerman interpration is the best always..
I agree! I'm glad you noticed.
I like kassia's better
Facts there’s no better interpretation than his, it’s just perfect.
THE interpretation.
None other compare.
In a matter of respect, we cannot leave Glemser out of this discussion. I had Zimmerman’s recordings downloaded until I found Glemser. Particularly Glemser’s 3rd and 4th Ballades blow Zimmerman out of the water
Esta es una de mis piezas musicales favoritas de Chopin, y escucharla en su versión lenta la vuelve aún más nostálgica y melancólica, además de sentimental. ❤🎶
Chopin es nuestro polaco favorito!
I listen to this everyday
I'm glad you enjoy it... Chopin's ballads are addicting for sure!
I love this so much, it gives me goosebumps lol
ikik it makes me cry everytime
@@LucaS-oi3sj which part of it?
@@matted.1213 the beautiful climax in the middle
@@matted.1213 but the original version more obviously
@@LucaS-oi3sj Ahh i love the a major section a lot too! So passionate sounding
You did a great job on the reverb, but it feels weird listening to it transposed after having listened to and played it so many times 😅
Yeah, I can see how it could sound odd after being used to it a certain way, I try to transpose in a way that isn't too invasive to the point where it gets too muddy sounding and looses its appeal, I hope you found it not too weird sounding. :)
@@resonance6531 don’t worry haha it wasn’t a bad weird it was a “it feels new even though I know it already” weird 😆
i thought only horowitz interpretation was the best but now i think both zimerman and horowitz interpretations are best xd
Both are very good!
I think Rubinstein is up there aswell
I love Seong-Jin Cho’s aswell
Hey Resonance, have you ever seen Over the Garden Wall? This kind of reminds me if the piano tunes playing in the opening scene.
I haven’t, do you watch it often?
@@resonance6531 yeah, i normally watch it in October. It is a mini series. I tend to treat it more like a movie due to how short it is
Chopin 👌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This piece is so beautiful and I absolutely love the slowed and reverb effect, by any chance, what key is this in and is there any sheet music? I might just prefer playing this version ;)
The key is F minor, I don’t think there is any sheet music for this piece in F minor, but you can just play all of the regular notes of this piece and just play all of them down a whole step to play it in F minor instead of the original G minor
g minor
This transcription is in E minor.
If yall wanna watch some beautiful visuals to this song, watch Your Lie in April about a boy pianist and a girl violinist. Its a really pretty and sad story.
bawled for hours watching this scene
2:34
Transposed to E Minor :D

Hi! What programme did you use to reverb the song?
Audacity
5:30, D7😍
who painted the art piece? i know the art piece & am obsessed with the way the artist draws the water, but i forgot their name
Ivan Aivazovsky Ship on Stormy Seas
Pls can u tell me how you make the slow reverb, is it an application? Pls!
I use Audacity, it provides many effects like reverb, speed alteration, and pitch/tempo change.
Thx!!!
What is the name of the painting (and painter)?
Ivan Aivazovsky Ship on Stormy Seas
One day i will hear this music played and i will invite a beautiful woman to dance with me.
It's not "slowed + reverb", it's "transposed down a tone (in F minor) + reverb".
the tempo remains almost the same
Yes, it would be more correct to title my videos this way, the only problem I see is that many people may not know what transposed means, so I gravitate towards using more simple words like slowed. Though I will probably change it from "slowed + reverb" to "transposed" in the future.
what is the name of the picture ???
Ivan Aivazovsky Ship on Stormy Seas
The random high pitch beeps throught the piece???
The original recording unfortunately had these smalls imperfections, they are more noticeable when the piece is transposed down.
What is the picture used?
Ivan Aivazovsky Ship on Stormy Seas
@@resonance6531 Thank you!
@@bobkilla2049 No problem!
did you also change the key?
No, just slowed down
yea it’s in F minor here
@@più_lento_28_13 yea, I knew. It's a entire tone down.
Ain't in G minor anymore haha
Correct, I need to change the title 😅
F minor transposed down
whats reverbed here? I dont get it
The entire piece has added reverb, if you listen to the original recording by Krystian Zimmerman you can hear the difference.
@@resonance6531 k
is this krystian zimerman's ballade no.1 ?
Yes
Maybe give credit to zimerman. good upload tho
Good idea, I will!
There seems to be a strange change in the notes rather than the echo in the voice. It's like it's out of tune but that makes it interesting
Absolutely, that's because the real ballade is written in G minor and this version is played in E minor. At the same time, the piano is out of tune. It sounds absolutely different from the original one. Sensation is not the same.
What’s the painting called?
Ship on stormy seas
