Noah Sears- noahsears?...
30 minute top to bottom version- bit.ly/LongFormatVideos
Ah yes, the long awaited and often asked for Palisade Plunge edit. As it turns out, Noah Sears and I waited a bit too long as the top of the Plunge is currently closed for the season after recent snow. We rode the bottom 7 or so miles up onto the mesa as an out and back. From what I have been told, this is the best section anyways and the other 20 plus miles are underwhelming. That said, I am still stoked to come back next summer and ride this thing from the top to form my own opinion. The bottom section is absolutely world-class in my opinion, with enough jank and exposure to keep me smiling from top to bottom. This trail took a ton of work and passion and it is a welcome addition to the West Slope experience. Kudos to the builders, those rocks don't stack themselves. West slope, best slope. - Sport
The top of this is snowed in for the year as of last week. We did this as an out and back from the bottom. Enjoy.
How did you CLIMB that trail?
@@50mtb44 fueled by Taco Bell 🔔💨
Man I hope CO gets a lot of snow this year we are drying out here in Vegas
Great mtb video! Your content is awesome!
I’ve subscribed to your channel a while ago 😃..
@@50mtb44 It's 99 percent rideable.
That’s the absolute height. Best ever in the genre. I was also much less scared watching Hereditary. Not only did I just go bald but I think I soiled myself.
So beautiful but sooo scary
Damn that trail is like a 10! Was really digging the 80's rock backing track, Kenny Loggins would be proud.
Awesome trail and riding... and wow, the light! highlight @1:05 - "Wuuuu! Oh yeah, Noah" translates to -No, uh, you don't want to test that ledge.
Noah is a boss on slickrock and high exposure. Cool as a cucumber and smooooth. Getting to be winter riding and more drone footage.
Always a pleasure riding with Noah.
I spent time stationed at Ft.Carson and what used to be Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora. I miss getting on I70 and driving west into the high country. Colorado is an extraordinary place. Many adventures and memories will always be with me. SW Michigan is home now. I live along Lake Michigan. Many places to ride here and explore. The lake is my spiritual place of peace. Great video, my brother! Stay safe out there, okay? ✌️
Such a clear view! Stunning day.
Awesome riding, as always Nate. Wow, that exposure though...
Awesome footage and incredible insight to the trails you ride on and trails I want to ride on .
Stellar riding and amazing trail. Trail looks like another world. riding is so fluid, precise, and inspiring. Right on!
Amazing riding and what a trail. I'd have to pass on that one, scary enough just watching! Nice editing as well, the drone clips really add to the feel of the video. Gorgeous shots of both of you traversing the terrain!
I enjoyed so much watching this video. So interesting and also so relaxing to watch. Thank you!
Wow what a trail. Exposed. So great to have the drone footage mixed in with the POV 🤘🏼
Amazing bit of trail!
Beautiful vid! I loved this trail, rode it in late September and it just keeps giving and giving until your at river level.
Love this one as well.
Thanks to Nate I can get my scare on thru your camera lenses. At my age my risk level surely has changed, I appreciate you and your friends skill set and the quality of your video work.
That song had me looking for an 80's montage, neon windbreakers, and final freeze-framed jump shot!
Those views are incredible! Cheers as always for the weekend stoke.
Get after it this weekend!
I've lost count of how many Followcam Fridays I've watched but I think this is my new all time favourite. Just incredible 🙌
Cheers dog.
Crazy beautiful views! 😍
Wow. Great edit. Incredible scenes (and the riding looks good too 😛). Gotta get back!
Dang that's a lot more exposed that I thought it was going to be... Stoked to get out there in the spring!
Some “Canyon of Fools” style stuff at the bottom of that. Looked fun! Serious exposure up top!
the exposure on this rivals the portal trail. What an epic run! thx for sharing - awesome as always
Way mellower than Portal in my opinion.
@@natehills9388 wow - it looked like it was higher up, steeper and longer than portal. I was figuring in the go pro effect as well but i'll certainly take your word. Second half of portal is more technical probably
That trail looked do good, great vid 👍
GOAT 🐐
Wow! Top of my list for next summer!!
Wow, looks like a must do!
Love those drone shots.
Not sure if this trail or Kong is at the top of my "Do not ride" list! 🤣
This one is a green run compared to Kong, haha. It would be really hard to fall off a cliff on this one. Kong can actually kill you.
Sick. I love Fridays! 🤘
Totally loved this video :)
Damn good riding by two of the best riders ,,, that's some sketchy jank 😮😮😮
Great video. What an amazing trail.
It really is!
Beautiful!
Really to fun to watch this at home, Nate!! Our PC and SV boys just arrived there today to ride PP.
I think it's mellow, but many would disagree.
Beautiful as always, and what a trail! Never even heard of it. Gave me some serious armchair pucker.
It just opened officially this year.
Awesome footage, looked like crazy exposure!
Couple of spots that will make you have a bad time if you mess up, haha
@@natehills9388 I'm usually pretty inured to exposure but this one looked intense for a extended periods. Absolutely stunning route 🤙
Super! Amazing scenery and colors! Of course (but this is obviuosly) GREAT RIDE 💪
Sick Riding Dude!! That looks Gnarly Dude!! Sick Video Dude😎🤘🤘
Nice place, no mistake allowed ! Great vidéo 👌🤘
Yes! The drone made it back for this one. Nates Hills the one man film production crew 👏🔥
Damn! That was some exposure - then toward the end looked like you were in the trench on the Deathstar! Bucketlist for sure
I've been going to Grand Junction for MTB trips for 2 years now. Each time we go we've been trying all the different trail networks, and I had no idea this was even an option!!! Next time I go I'll be hitting this for sure, that looks epic! This is now one of my favorite videos of yours!
This just officially opened this season. Check it out next summer for sure.
It's newly completed, opened July '21.
rode this from the mid section of palisade rim loop last week. so rad and so fun , and sad to be back in Canada with the new snow hah. sweet trail ya have down there..
Nice, I am headed to ride it next week. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Awesome I can’t wait! Hopefully next weekend!
The top is snowed in for the season amigo. Put it on your list for next summer.
@@natehills9388 not interested in the top, if weather holds next weekend from lands end.
The drone footage was spectacular. Great trail.
Thanks! 👍
Wow guys, that was epic!
Crazy trail that can "plunge" a guy into places that no man wants to go. Great video.
You got that right!
Rode this with some mates in early October, just a couple weeks before you probably. The shuttles were only running to the shorter drop point, and it was quite wet/sloppy up top, so that top section is certainly seasonal. We loved the trail, but it seemed others aren't so keen on all the exposure. Our local trails are just like this here in New Mexico, so we were right at home. Different strokes for different folks!
Sick trail
Amazing intro 🤩👌🔥 Nice stuff man 👍
80 music FTW;)
Freaking amazing!
1:06 AWW HELL NAW. That's where my fear of heights kicks in massively. Palms getting sweaty.
The wind was keeping us from blowing off the cliff;)
I like Noah's sinister laugh after cheating death slightly, lol
This is CRAZY FEARLESS. 😮. I’m going up in the summer to perfect my HIKE-A-BIKE SKILLS. 😅
Really nice photography. I left Colorado before this was even started but I'd love to do it some day.
Saludos from México!
so rad
Probably a good time to be there with the weather. Some of those views from up there are epic! Don't pedal clip up there in some spots...
Hard to focus on the trail with those views, haha
Super
great intro music, probably the scariest video i watched on this channel
That was pretty intense! Don't know how you guys didn't both catch an edge and tumble to your deaths! Can't wait to try it! Lol.
Just getting lucky out here.
Thanks for the appetizer! We're in Fort Collins and were planning on doing it a fair few weeks ago now. Heard the top is cow pastures and super pedally.... but this lower section is right on the money! ❤
I haven't ridden the top as it is snowed in but apparently there isn't much pitch to work with on the first 12 miles. Bumpy cow pasture things.
@@natehills9388 That's what we heard to! Just got done with Angel Fire and about to slow things down for winter. Great video as always! Love the drone shots ❤
WOW...soooo close to the edge, one wrong bounce on a rock and i hope you have your reserve parachute at the ready...stay safe up there..👍
Wondering when we’d get a plunge cam Friday 👍
I agree with you, Nate, this trail is a Classic. One of the best POVs you've done. We missed that drone. C
Have you tried setting it to film more in front of you and less to the side?
In any case, thank you for the spicy exposed ride.
very sweet
This looks so awesome! I can’t wait to ride all 32 miles of it.
Next summer!
@@natehills9388 Yep! You should do a Nate Hills Palisade Plunge group ride!
Don’t bother. The top 12 miles is pretty damn boring. Just do the bottom section.
The best🔥👏👏
Well guys, that’s some riding, but rather you than me! Well impressed and amazing landscape to do it in. How long does it take to do the whole ride in real time? Take care and much peace to you both!
I rode from Land’s End Road down and it was fantastic! It’s definitely not for beginners or timid intermediates but definitely a good Epic ride. Nice footy!
I need to check that part out in the spring when it melts back out.
I cannot believe someone put a thumbs down! They are either crazed or hit the wrong button.
Fantastic video and great riding once again.
Went by there last summer riding Moab, GJ and Fruita. Definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for giving us a great look at the trail. Must have been great fun climbing that trail. Looks like a lot of exposure. I need to learn to do a nose pivot like that.
I rode some Moab last year carrying my Skydio and those batteries add a lot of weight
Yeeeaaaahhh!
Heavy packs climb the best;) I carry extra batteries for training, haha.
Holy crap.
Sweet!
Nate, hello from Bangkok. Awesome fall day for a ride in Grand Junction. Love the aerials and enjoy the weekend. BTW, where has Sam been? Blue skies, Jg
Best cinematography award goes to.. Nate Hills “The Palisade Plunge Experience”. Drop the mic, dude. You are legit!
Haha, cheers.
I heard the exposure was serious but damn that is no joke. Well rode Mr. Hills
40mph wind gusts help with that.
A lot of exposure on that trail Pretty sick.
Top top top 👏👏👏
Looks a long way down 🙁 nice vid Nate👍
Don’t look down definitely applies to this trail.
I love this Dunhil and mountain
Very cool, just watching made by bunghole pucker a bit, on the list for next year.
Glad I read your comments -- Good feedback on the exposure -- I road up to the water pipe but didn't realize that was part of the Plunge
Hi Giff, your name rang a bell, late 70’s, Telluride. You and a friend possibly named Costa used to come ski with us. I’m John, wife Rita. Funny. I enjoy Nate’s riding!
@@johnbonnell5463 Heck yes I remember you. Those were the days ! We live in Glenwood Springs now -- where you and Rita at ? I got married 1984 , had twin boys in 92. One in Durango the other in Steamboat !
Hi, Nate super video 😉👌 nice trail 😗👌🏞️🚴💯
Thank you 🤗
Awesome from Indonesia 🇮🇩
I have read it’s pretty exposed. Looks like exposed in a mostly fun way. Can’t wait to ride it next spring.
Don’t be fooled by Nate’s skills. The exposure is legit.
I think it pretty mellow actually. Less exposure than Jackson or Portal in Moab in my opinion. I hear lots of complaining about the exposure but I didn't really walk away with that impression. Its amazingly fun and scenic.
The lead guy's rear wheel is in an abusive relationship.
Haha, accurate.
JUST SUBSCRIBED TOO YOUR CHANNEL BRO!!!
Like always, the more I watch, the less I want to do enduro. I guess it is not for everyone. But thumbs up for you!
It's an acquired taste. Like Bourbon.
YEP FREERIDAY :)
👍
exposure is nuts
So much scarier in person.
It's fully open and dry now. Just don't go on a hot day.
EXPOSURE 😱
Great video!
Lots of wind noise tho. Do you have a deadcat on your camera? If not, you might try gluing one on the two microphones. It helps cut the wind noise a lot!
Been running a dead cat for 6 years. We were riding in 50mph gusts.
Idk if I've recommended this but I thing you should try the lake Rebecca single track trail is not the most insane trail is also I little long but a major no no is that I came acrossed a handful of people when I went on it unless your fine with that
Glory Hole! LMAO! Killer footage.
Couldn't help it ;)
Ever find yourself in SoCal, I got some bonker trails to show ya
what city do you live in nate? where is the geographic center of all this awesomeness?
Wow, is the exposure really that bad or is it the POV fish eye? Otherwise it looks great!
Would you recommend to someone passing thru town? Asking because trailforks has mixed reviews
