If someone like that actually did good things he could be oddly excusable, but still impossible. He can't think and feel like he does and do good, even for himself or people he supposedly cares about, because he simply doesn't care... he has no values other than the love of money and he turns around and squanders that too. How a businessperson can be so undisciplined and disorganized and not end up on skid row is an anomaly at best, but he certainly shouldn't be a dog catcher let alone president. I just don't get how anyone thinks this man should be in any position of power or influence. If he was a cell, he'd be a cancer cell.
I fell out laughing when Stephen mentioned Mike Spence would be a keynote speaker and then fell back into a deep sleep. That was too funny! It's why I love Stephen.

@Agent Fungus Ive seen Colbert talk about those people but I highly doubt it's a majority of conservatives and if it was it was they didn't watch because no one who actually believed what Colbert's character claimed to would ever use the "arguments" he did to back up their "position." @@zoeherriot I don't have names, but there were cabinet-level people speaking at Obama's 2012 DNC. I doubt the Trump admin. would do something like this if they didn't have firm legal precedent on their side. They have the GOP and all its resources behind them.

What they did appears to be illegal. And just because someone else did something illegal, doesn't automatically make it fine for them to do it to. So the DNC in 2012 - that was stretching the law, for sure - but it probably did not violate the hatch act because none of the cabinet members did on camera presentations, and it wasn't held in a federal building. I would still condone them being penalised if it was considered illegal though.
But Pompeo has no such recourse - it's pretty black and white and he even went against his own memo to the state department on presidential appointees even being allowed to attend a convention.
But... seriously - the GOP just break the law every goddam minute (especially Trump) -It's one problem I have with the DNC. THey tend not to break the law, and don't take the GOP to task properly for doing so - and so they are not playing on a level playing field. It's a weakness on their part:

Deliberately slowed the mail
Kellyanne Conway has repeatedly violated the hatch act
Trump and Ivanka used the office of the president to endorse a product
Attempted to use a federal building for a partisan event
Appear to have attempted to use the presidency to impact a business (Amazon)
We have confirmation FROM THE GOP that Trump probably lied to Mueller
Trump tried to get the FBI building moved so that it would not be possible to have a competing hotel near his hotel
Trump is continually taking funds into his private properties from the government (and artificially raising prices) while doing so
The firing of the AG in NY was probably illegal (to be determined)
Chad Wolf appointment - illegal
Like - the list goes on and on and on - and don't for a second think the DNC has anything on Trump when it comes to illegality. They just don't have it in them.
When you list your own family members as references on a resume because you have no other people who can realistically and honesty vouch for you.

Yes, three jobs... that means she probably doesn't have health insurance, and no vacation time. In Sweden, there is a law that even parttime workers get the same benefits as full time. For example, vacation time, a temporary worker gets 13% added on to the base pay. Makes it so businesses can't play the "parttime, no benefits game."
