You wouldn’t be saying that if it was iPhone 💀😭💪
@cak316 one of the reasons I don't buy Apple ANYTHING
Wtff, S10 aftermarket screens are still garbage? Phone is like 5 years old by now.
and buying original costs as much as the same phone used on ebay. Go figure.
Maybe if we pester REWA enough...
@@MarksterC it's almost as cheap as getting it on Amazon. I got mine for 250 dollars more or less.
@@MarksterCwhy even buy an aftermarket screen when you can get a whole used phone with blocked ESN or bad board for less! Just swap the screen and done.
Yup the screen is pushed out a few another more than the originals and the bottom bezel is larger by a lot
Not to mention, if you use an LCD on the s10, the in screen fingerprint reader won’t be able to work because LCDs aren’t translucent in the area where the fingerprint reader is on the display
Same for midrange phones but at least for midrange you can get 1 to 1 copy oled displays that work just fine with the fingerprint sensor. Just hars to find them at times since everyone sells the cheaper lcd . But for some reason I've never seen such a copy for s series phones.
@@orange_tweleve Midrange phones with OLED displays and in screen fingerprint readers would have this same issue when using LCD replacements
I don't think it would be as big an issue on S10 as it uses an ultrasonic sensor so doesn't need a translucent screen
@@moveitstudios-roblox544 no wonder less phones used this aside BBK n Samsung
Ummm, lcd is illegal
Since the customer only wanted his data I assume the only reason he wanted replace the screen is to have a just-in-case phone. And a just-in-case phone that preferrably doesn't get any use doesn't need an OEM screen, 3rd party will do just fine even if it is a little worse.
"Little worse" seems delusional here 😂
But I was thinking the same, he recovered his data and can use the phone if needed.
that makes the most sense. cause if you’re not gonna daily it, why should you care about spending 120$ more if it won’t see frequent use? lol
And this is why everything important on my phone goes on an sd card in the phone and gets synced up to my pc automatically.
Dont need to fix the phone to get my data back if ive got a copy on my pc and on the sd card.
I have a oneplus with after market screen as exactly what u mentioned a just in case phone and as a storage for old photos and vids
They are cheap and as long as there is a screen it works for me
@guesswho2778 be careful using sd cards as backups. They tend to fail after 100 or more complete R/W cycles. Might consider having a few redundant backup sd cards for when your main one inevitably breaks.

In Egypt we can't buy the original anyways because of global shipping and payments restrictions, so we always use these, and in fact the one you used is worse than most of the ones we have here, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still worse than the original
I guess the one he used is an LCD not even an OLED

Theyre very expensive but they still exist (over 8k EGP for an S10 screen)
Original replacement displays for Samsung phones are sometimes actually more expensive than just buying a used one off ebay or sending it to Samsung for a repair. A broken screen totals the phone.
yeah i had one for my a51 recently. original was like £35 plus and god knows if i figure it out in terms of install and a new phone was like £100. luckily i went to holiday in a poor country and they managed to scrape off the old really fked up glass and replace it for £25. now i don't have to worry about destroying the cameras on my good phone by using it as sat nav on the motorcycle.
"he wanted to get his data off the phone"
This is why all phones should be made to be able to work as a generic USB drive by default when plugged into a computer no matter how corrupt the OS is or if the screen no longer works. But "security". :-/
(Yeah the guy wanted to be able to use the phone again, but most people just want their photos and other data off their dead phone)
I accidentally bought a 3rd party screen for my s20 ultra after I broke it for the 3rd time and Samsung and ifixit were put of stock. 120hz didn't work, chins wjere massive and the screens touch capability would sometimes freeze up.
This was a couple of years ago? I did the same thing. Everyone kept telling me they heard an echo everytime I spoke.
Always go with The Guru's advice, or you will get ripped off by a cheap screen

No, in this case the Customer is right.
"The Screen is very expensive to replace"
Thats because it's a really good screen...
I love me S10. Been using it for over 4 years now and it still packs a punch.
It's a great phone.
I always buy my screen replacements on Aliexpress and they work like the originals
Aliexpress is underrated ❤
Yeah I’ve never bought original always aliexpress and never had anything this bad. There are multiple grades and vendors usually give you the choice between the trash he used in this video and decent slightly more expensive ones.
@@l.a1532 Aliexpress used to be bad tho. Lmao

Moral of the story, if a professional gives you advice, just go with it (except if it’s apple)
Why would i spent 120$ extra is this phone would be a back up phone? It makes no sense at all
I guess the man is just looking for the phone to work enough to be able to see and transfer everything he has there. Because as a carry phone, it's screwed.
S10 never dies ngl
Love mine, got it 2 years ago and works perfect. Bought for parents too, great phone for under $200 for like-new refurbs!
My s10e still going strong after 4 years
My s10+ has a cooked battery but thats cuz i use it for 4 years now
Got a s10+ on my bday 2021 and its still going strong :) by far one of my favorite phones ive used
S10 is one of the best phones Samsung ever made, the only two problems are the short battery life and the Exynos processor
An alternative though, you can find s10 and s10+ screens with some defects on the oleds called "test LCD". Price may be as low as 10% orig depending on the defect
I totally agree with you..
I recently accidentally cracked my s21 ultra screen.
I ordered a screen from ebay at only £147 , lol..i thought it was a good deal until i got it installed.
⚠️the screen does not support 120hz, the touch sensitivity is not as responsive, it lags like crazy and some how it keeps opening my banking apps on my phone (like it has a malware/ i signed out my accounts on my phone due to hacks from after market pieces)
My advice is, if you damaged your screen just buy the og screen or get a different phone lol..its not worth it to get after market parts, my s21 ultra feels like an s3
"some how it keeps opening my banking apps on my phone"
bro, this is so bad 😂
Seriously, thanks for the warning.
Bruh I don't think it's possible for a screen replacement to do that specifically. Ghost touches can be true though
@@sharkieisliveit’s definitely just ghost touching opening the bank apps
Why would you buy a screen that costs almost as much as the phone itself? Just buy a new phone :S
@@RETIREDBUGKILLER do you have any idea how much an s21 ultra costs sir?
Yeah did that with my Samsung and at some point I did a system update and the screen stopped registering any taps whatsoever
We have a local phone repair place and they use the worst after market ones, they're like yellow/orange and barely last at all
In India we got best quality aftermarket screens in just about 50- 60 usd 😅😂
You never replaced a Samsung galaxy S series screen before? Lol
For s10 it's 150$ something around 12500inr
nope, samsung's flagship display is very expensive
I got an aftermarket screen for my note 20 ultra, and it worked fine when I first installed it, but as soon as the screen was back on the phone all the way, it didn't work anymore. 400usd just *gone*
Why are the bezels so big
Crappy screen but if you don't have the money at least you have an option in that thing. As the dude stated though, he just wants to be able to use it in the future, presumably as a back up phone.
You mean bezel so thicck
@@orangeyellow-me1pz makes sense but I have another question if there are cheaper models with larger bezels are there displays that have thinner bezels than the original?
@@NoturlilbuddyThe hell is a bezel
We just used one for a Note 20 Ultra at the repair shop i work at (same supplier) and its not absolute garbage for newer phones, but it still doesn't look great.
Usually you can get a range of options for aftermarket screens, ranging from TFT to OLED. You just have to pick the one that works for you on a price to performance ratio
My S10+ is still going strong and I love it. Weirdly, the cover that came with the original screen has been on since I got it. It's scratched and whatnot, but if you take it off, it's looking brand new. Havent even taken the back protector off either since I just slipped it into a case. Was thinking of upgrading eventually to a newer model but havent seen good updates on galaxies lately.
Thanks to you i recovered old s8 that was knox locked that i bought from a friend few years ago, also you can buy original used screens that have a line on them for cheap
Original Screens that have a line on them will one day go blank...
The s10 with a fake screen looks like a s10 clone😂😂
I got an aftermarket with a frame for my S10E and replaced the damaged. I got a good one and comparable to the original, although the glass has distortion but it not distracting when in use.
Your right my guy
I had an s10 plus rn i use my main my display got a little burn but do not affect the touch
I have a S10 Plus too I dont want to Crack it I love my phone😢
I put a screen protector on mine, and ~3 years later (I bought a Galaxy A51 in 10/2021), the entire phone is still pretty much just as good as I bought it, and it was even a used display model too (it was the last one they had at the time).
That camera was big that I thought it was just a broken circle
Idk where you get your aftermarket screens from because the ones for my shop are fine.
We give two options, aftermarket which is 150 or original which is 300.
Labour and 3 months warranty included.
The screens are formidable and the only way to tell its aftermarket is the slightly bigger gap. Touch and resolution is pretty much the same, and slight colour differences.
“Is that the S10?”
“Good question”
I’d say the same for all phone screens tbh. One time I took my iPhone X for a screen replacement and they replaced it with an LCD which had a chin! I argued for an hour with them about what a “replacement screen” means. They said I had to ASK for an OLED. The OLED should be standard, as it is with the original phone!
Watching this with my samsung S10+ and it still work properly 🤟🏽
There are aftermarket replacements that are of high quality, almost 1:1 with the oem. You just have to look more
Its important to note that for most other devices, aftermarket screens are perfectly fine (with the exception of especially shady brands) but for whatever reason aftermarket samsung screens are almost always garbage
Somebody should believe the pro
You have changed glass screens for 130or 140$ on ali expresss or at least soft oled wich is a pretty much a 1 to 1 mimic of the original
How 'bout ordering a aftermarket screen, let's say a Samsung S6/7 where the notch/camera hole isn't much of a problem. Do you still recommend using an original screen?
Wow... I usually try to go with official but the last few times for an S22 repair they sent damaged screens so I had to go with a higher-end line of the AM and it works perfectly. I never go lowest of the low if I don't have to...
I remembered last year that I broke my Samsung A30s phone and went to the phone repair shop to fix my phone by replacing the broken LCD with the non-genuine LCD since I have no choice, and you are absolutely right. One month later, my phone acted like crazy on the screen and the highest brightness is BS.
one thing i noticed about aftermarket screens as well is that no matter how hard you look you'll never find an OLED panel It's always LCD
There are few oled factories, and most of them are samsung
The digitizer is the issue where the frequency is not at the right output to the input response. You need to find a cheap Chinese replica that knows what they are doing.
Some will be 1/6 the price of a authentic part. NEVER support the authentic part as these will be inflated with a massive mark-up instead of being offered at cost or below cost.
It is nice having the front camera off to the side
I changed mine for an aftermarket one amd the only issue is that is a bit darker, but still work good
It responded as fast if not faster than my phone and my phone is pretty responsive, the best thing is it's functional and still comfortable to use, there may be some differences but with how cheap it is, it's a decent deal.
Once I got a "refurbished original" screen for my phone. The OLED was fucking pink-ish and the bezels were covering half of the buttons below
This is why I kind of like Apple's "Unknown Part" message. I just wish it wasn't used for greed. It's genuinely useful to know when you have a crappy part.
At least they give you the option of any screen
Unlike Apple 😮💨
It's the same issue with aftermarket Huawei screens aswell...
The 10 in that S10 stands for 10 inches of bezels 💀
Surely No green line on screen so thats a win for the afternarket 😅
Because of this video I just realized I got scammed out of $300 and went to get it fixed. The guy said he'll order a new part and tomorrow I can go back and get it replaced. Hope this time its not an aftermarket rip off.
"I want to be able to use my phone in the future"
"Sir, I repair phones. I can't facilitate time-travel"
The aftermarket screen has been mewing
I use them before they're pretty clear and I never have problems with them and the touch always works fine
If that's an LCD replacement then another problem is that installing an LCD panel in a phone that originally had an OLED means that there's a gonna be quite a bit of extra power draw (since LCDs use a backlight). Also, if the controller is crap, or if the firmware is garbage, that can be very bad news (PMIC replacements are an extremely common repair I do on phones that have had replacement LCDs installed in place of a broken OLED), and even if it works perfectly with no issues, the impact on the battery life is very noticable.
Bro the screen made a 1000 dollar phone look like a dollars store pre paid phone
I learned to not ever use aftermarket screen when I saw one of my friend use it in his iPhone 4 lol
I'll glad we use the website/supplier l, so I know that's the good stuff
the the s10 screen is just as much as buying a used one that works
My only rule is never to bug a Samsung to start with
That depends on how good you are at finding good OEM screens. There are some OEMs that are as good and tough as the original ones but they are NOT cheap but not as expensive. My Samsung A30 still works and its amoled replacement that cost 70$, is as good as its stock. Installed it for about two years now. No issues so far...
Only use aftermarket screens on the a siries
Man every time I see a Galaxy S10 I get hit by 4.5 years worth of good memories. Rest in peace, champ ❤
Why no one is talking about the dotted multipurpose gloves😂😅
If the screen on an OLED phone is broken you can throw it in the trash. Simple as that.
When I broke my Galaxy S22+, (all sides cracked). I looked around for phone repair shops but ultimately The single Original Samsung repair facility offered by far the cheapest price.
They replaced everything, making the repaired one indistinguishable from a brand new. Bought it for $1200 back when it was released. (VAT included. )
The service costed less than $300 and since the repair center was very close It took under a week. New back, new camera housing, new front, new screen, new side panels. Same Serial number and both IMEI identical. 🙂
How do you compete with Samsung official repair centers?
It turns into a chinese clone now 💀
Those bezzels ☠️☠️☠️🔥🔥🔥
They tend to break easier too
Fixing Samsungs makes fixing iphones look like a breeze
Well, all the way back in December 2021, my dad replaced a screen of galaxy a50, it was an alternative but the only difference beetween the original and the alternative was alternative had an lcd panel and the original having an oled panel, FOCK IT ITS GONE AGAIN THIS TIME FOR OVER A FOCKING YEAR!!!!!!

Bro got 1% battery on that phone💀
And one thing you forgot, the front fingerprint sensor can't work
Its funny too because the aftermarket screens arent exactly cheap, just cheaper
I swear I payed like $180 USD for my S10 a couple years ago lol
Those screens almost cost as much as a whole new phone, you might aswell just buy another refurbished one at those screen prices
You can get aftermarket soft oled screens for the samsung s series these days including the s10 and they are actually pretty good and cheap. Way better then the old incell aftermarket lcd screens you see here
I think I am going to stick with my cracked s10+
💀💀yeahh im buying the expensive version now💀💀💀

Once i also got my screen replaced aftermarket and I confirm it was literally trash bugging and glitching for no reason
That’s why when my S8+ needed a screen replacement, I just bought a new Xiaomi phone that’s a whole lot cheaper than the screen replacement and also faster than the S8+!
I was really close to doing this 😂😂.. I just need the glass screen replaced and Amazon is filled with these
