There is a replacement for the 36v drill, the DV36DC. Been out for a while and before this one, but of course hasn't actually been announced or advertised anywhere. This one is the 18v version of that, which is why it looks like it might be a replacement for the old 36v, it's the new 36v body running on an 18v motor. Anyway, good review and it would he nice to have a comparison and review of the new 36v, this 18v, and the old 36v all together to see what's really cooking in HPT drill world haha.

I'm debating between this DV18DC and the DeWalt 708. I'm invested in both systems already. So, I think I like the HTP because it has the option of being a hammer drill.

I just wish the drills didn't have such a high pitch whine compared to other brand's drills. Otherwise, MHPT drills are phenomenal - great grip, trigger, and clutch on them.

i believe the DV18DEX replaces the DS18DBFL2E and the DV36DC replaces the DV36DAG and the DV18DCQ4 replaces the DV18DBL2Q4 and the DS18DDX hasn’t been replaced yet
