The O's have been bad for 3 weeks now. They're not hitting and they have the worst pitching in baseball in that time frame. They're slumping bad.

@@DaveysWonderfulWorld yeah. The last 3 weeks they're scoring just 3.8 runs/game. That's not the worst part. They have the worst ERA in the majors in that time frame at 5.78. It's not looking good.

For some reason, something weird happens with Corbin Burnes when he pitches against the Chicago Cubs.
The last few times he faced Chicago as a starting pitcher (before this game), these were the outcomes:
Aug. 29, 2023: L 1-0
Mar. 30, 2023: L 4-0
Jul. 6, 2022: L 2-1 (No decision)
May 1, 2022: L 2-0
Apr. 7, 2022: L 5-4 (No decision)
The last time he was a starting pitcher at the time and saw his team beat the Cubs was on September 18, 2021 with Milwaukee, 6-4. Since then, Corbin's lost the last 6 starts (including today's game) against the Cubs.

Corbin's only had 4 games prior before this one where he's given up 3 or more runs there.
But lately, Burnes seems to have gotten tattooed recently by the HR. That's now 13 HRs he's given up in 19 starts, and the 4th start in a row to which it has happened.
Something seems a bit off with Corbin Burnes in the last few starts, and it's looking a bit concerning due to the fact that, well...he's either not getting much help from the offense, or the bullpen is letting him down in games that could matter later on.
