Hi Dan the clicking of the starter is usually down to a drop in voltage their are 3 black plugs above the engine clean and check them but the best way to fix the problem is to fit a relay above the starter this ensures a full 12 volts when you turn the key to start.
This is a great video! Thank you sir! Coming in handy been visiting my father in law and he has 88 396 massey Ferguson he hasn't had anyone to drive it for him, so know that I have time it's time to bring it to life. The look in his eyes is priceless. This videos are awesome thank you!
Another good video, well done. I note you didn't change the cab filter ? When we gave ours a first service, we took the cab filter out to find it 100% clogged, mind you, it was the original and was over 30 years old. The dealer advised they had seen them with a mouse nest, I advised him there was no room in mine for a mouse to make a nest.
Presumably you cleaned out the air pre-cleaner on top but just didn’t put that bit in the video. It still looked a bit cloudy and brown at the end. Much nicer tractor than all these modern day electronic Fendts and Fastracs that we see today.
Only Massey that I know of where you don t have to pump on one side and go to the other side to look for airbubbles/tighten bleeding screws is the 9240 with Cummins engine, both pumps left side, someone had a bright idea.
I hope those filter hrs aren’t correct 😳😳😂. Check oil level in front axle/ planetaries!!! Don’t ask why I suggest this 😡😉. I have added another solenoid to the starter circuit. The starter and motor will outlive us both 😉
I am not a mechanic so I'll describe it the best I can, hope u can make video of hydraulics. Tractor has leak in the back were u connect hydraulic coupler lines but not at coupler it is at top of were the 4 female couplers box are ? Look like to cones with long hex screws? If I take apart could it be o rings?
Excellent video Dan and how you Explain step by step not Working in the industry now wish some of the instructors were as clear as you have explained.
good to see you service tractors the right way,

That tractor sounds soooo good.
Best of luck with it
Good video Dan the old tractor will wonder what is happening getting a good service
For it's age and hours she looks good
Hopefully we see working soon 👍
Great video Dan. Good to do the service 👍🏼. Enjoyed watching.
I csn not believe these are considered classic already. We bought a new 3090 on 2000. Still on the farm with under 4000 hrs so far.
Great seeing the old tractor in safe hands.
Nice one Dan, looking forward to the next 3095 instalment.
Don t forget to look for dirt under that top sieve in lifting pump, cause that s where the corrosion is going on in that zink material.
Great video as always keep up the great work and videos any tractor you get is always in good hands dan
Excellent vid, love the way you explain things , makes it so easy to understand! Lovely tractor, can’t wait to see it under work
She’s a beauty. Very straight and sound tractor. 👍👍
Great video thanks Dan keep it up pls chief 👍✌️

Excellent video very tidy tractor looking forward to seeing her at work in some of your future videos 👍

what a great tractor we had one on the dairy farm where I worked many years ago it was h reg it went on the foreger at silage time
Awww... Any 3000 series always makes my day,😊 at least its now in safe keeping with you Dan, 🙂 I'm still jealous you've got it !!! ☹️👍
Try reaching through over the top of engine to tighten the bleed screw on the opposite side on a modern day tractor 🙈
Hi Dan,lovely tractor I would love to own one it would look good parked beside my 698 great video as always very well explained 👍
Back end filters? Lovely example and rust free cab! Good investment

Nice video dan i did notice the engine oil cooler radiator and egine rad could do with a steam off or blow off with air line to stop it overheating.
Hope the diesel tank is not dirty and no diesel bug .
Perkins purr
Thanks again.

Air filter for 24 years didn't look too bad but just wonder how efficient it was after being cleaned a few times 🤔 good video as usual 👍
Don't forget the front diff and hub oil
I used to often forget
Another great Vintage Thursday video Dan - sounds as sweet as a nut!
Never fill the oil filter with oil it can cause an airlock as its after the pump

Have checked the oil but won't be changing it as the axle needs to come apart soon to do the king pin bearings.
Have modern tractors really offered much more than this era? Other than much bigger bills?

Great video dan, no cab filter? Looking forward to see it on the beet drill next year!!
