Quite evident that the van rammed head on with the transport truck on the right, most likely killing its occupants and the thief in the Uhaul, Uhaul most likely went airborn, could have crashed into other vehicles.....maybe more behind the truck. Apparently the scene is carnage.....

This is one of the worst highway accidents I have seen since I came to Canada over two decades ago. It was close to home and the way it happened was completely terrifying. One of the worst case scenarios I had imagined while driving in these fast roads had come to fruition and again, very close to home. What I can't understand is how the police engaged in a pursuit against traffic on a freeway. I can't simply understand that. My deepest sympathies to the families.

Does opp knows anything about risk assessment? OPP has put public lives at risk by pursuing the suspect while cruising on the wrong side of the hwy.
OPP was on the line trying to reach a Durham Sargent to call off the chase. OPP generally does good work.
When I would drive out to Toronto and back on the 401 I would always see people speeding flying pass me while I'm only doing 100km/h.
