- In this episode I will explain what I dislike about the Apple AirPods and why I went out and got the Jabra Elite 65t to replace them. Both are True Wireless Earbuds with charging cases. The Jabra 65t looks better, has more functions and sounds better.

I got the Elite 65t Active since I use it for running. I sweat a lot. Highly recommended over AirPods.
I have both. Both are good. Jabras sound far superior.
I used the jabras for 1 year, I’ve used the AirPods for about a week. Jabras have better sound with an actual seal. Airpods allow me to use each bud independently. I like both of them for different reasons and I will continue to use both of them since I have multiple needs. Via an iPhone user
Loved the way you reviewed them. I just picked up Elite 65t two days back on google express for $100.
I bought a Jabra Elite Active 65t last year and i have never reget it. That was my first time buying an expensive earbud 😂. But that was worth it! It is perfect for me. I wear it all the time during workout and it never fall off my ear. I have no problem with the rubber earbud tho. And also ive no problem with the case being popped open easily since i’ve never droped it 😅.
I hate the airpods they looked ugly. Lol. I’m glad i didn’t buy it.
I like how honest and funny that you are, which I rarely find in reviewers!
It's also easier to open if you just push above that little open space above the word jabra.
At least on my copy, you can not just flick it open with your thumb like I can on the Airpods. They seem to have a tab that tries to keep it shut. Pushing on the sides makes it much easier to open with a flick of the thumb.
AverageTechFan that's true because the jaybird runs flick open to easy
3:47 DONE..... , hit the like button n subscribed. finally someone said it, i thought i was the only one.
hmmmm never even thought about that, so True!!
This video is exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't decide between the two. I like the looks of the Jabra much more, but was going to settle with the Airpods because my husband has an iPhone. Your video clarified compatibility perfectly.
I just returned a set of Jabra Elite 65t's. They sound great and do look very nice. Audio sounded pretty fair. But when speaking into the mic on a phone call, the other party heard my voice and although it was fairly clear, it sounded as though a digital audio special effect had been added. A Phase shifting or a sort of Flanger effect. (popular electric guitar effects) I believe this is related to the passive style of noise reduction used. With all of the microphones and the phase relationship to the speaker, this is where I think the problem is. I agree about the rubber ear fits. Overall I give the Jabra 65t a 3.5. I have not tried the Apple earpods. I only use apple products that have been thrown in the trash. I repaired a laptop recently. Not bad for free. The Jabras do look very nice. I may try the 75t Actives.
Sometimes it looks like Apple is trying to test how loyal are their customers by making stupid products like those earbuds, and funny enough, their customers are pretty stupidly loyal if they decide to buy this earbuds that looks like a cheap 3$ earphones for that amount of money while having so many great products on the market.
love your no nonsense style!
a magnetized case may affect the speakers (thus Jabra decided against it?)
I'm always amazed how loyal Apple fans are despite having the choice for better options that are also cheaper.
I usually don't comment on review videos , but i felt this time that this review was actually honest, and made by a "real person" and not some CZcams over-energized-clearly-sponsored persona . Most of the reviews regarding the topic on CZcams tend to be kind of bias towards the apple airpods . personally i use apple products , but i always disliked their earbuds ... they always sound average (minus) and they never fit right ! so thank you for this honest review :)
Seriously surprised by the sub count. Deserve a lot more subs
Good job Craig!! Get out there and fly that drone!! :)
But before you fly it be sure you have it registered with the FAA. Don't risk the fine! I liked and subscribed. My 65t's may be defective. The sound quality of the person I talk to hears odd sound and alteration of my voice. I'm an O.C.D.'d audio nutcase. Perfection is law.
I do agree with earpods design you look funny when you wearing that
To me they look like Mini toothbrushes sticking out of you ear.😫😫😫😫😫😫
This the most bad design of Apple ever ,,, Steve Job never accept this
When it first release I thought it was ugly too but after a while more and more people are accepting the design including me. IMO they look ok
They look hilarious.. having them sticking out the nose would be not much funnier
@@xujiachen1905 Na they still look ridiculous
I was on the fence between these two. This helped a lot!
Jabra elite it is.
Finally an HONEST Review!! And everything I've ever said about both. Can't sleep in airpods waaay to hard. I think they will be phases out really quickly
Just bought a pair. Thank you.
Good review - thank you
Returned the AirPods since they kept falling out of my ears, got the Jabras instead. So far I’m loving them!
Excellent and Honest review! Thanks for making it easier to make an informed decision!!
While they aren't truly wireless, the bose quiet comfort 30 are awesome. And the are active noise canceling.
I know. I really want the Bose Quiet Comfort 35s or probably even higher on my wish list is the Sony WH1000XM2. I keep hoping I will find either of them on some sort of flash sale on Amazon or Best Buy. So far, no luck and I just can afford to be buying expensive headphones just for fun. Maybe someone in Ottawa who has a pair can contact me and I can bring them on the channel and compare them to some of the other Headphones I already have. I'm sure I would be thoroughly impressed.
AverageTechFan the wh1000xm2 are just, marvelous, infact im watching this video with one. I’m from holland so our currency is euro. When this was brand new, this thing cost 380, now it is getting older the price will reduce, right now in holland its about 300 euro a piece now. I do have to note you about the noise canceling mode, the first time when you use it, it will feel like some pressure beeing on your ears, after a while using the headphone in anymode, the noise cancelling will get less and less painfull? At this stage where i am with my headphones its basically, i feel nothing, and the anc feature is just so amazing, in a plane you hear basically NO engine sound, especially when you are listening to your music. Although this headphone is amazing and stuff, i dont think its really worth upto its premium price tag,The brushed aluminium just looks amazing, and the touch control panel also is very responsive, but there are some huge flaws, the touch panel will be sensitve sometime, but you just have to restart it. Also when the cans are getting older, you will have some squeeking sounds when you move them back and forth (left and right earcup). Please consider those things when you own it.
Clear, quality video! Nice review too!
Great video
Sold! Great review the good and the bad.
Thank you for ranting exactly how I feel about the AirPods!
Why white?! Lol
Can Apple not at least make black?
I’d buy a black pair the second they are released.
lol
What do you have against white?! HUH?! ¨
Racist! /s
How about they make them in colors like the apple iTouch.
i love this video! just subscribed :) you definitely deserve more subs!
amazing personality and humour!
Great review man, thanks 🙏
Thanks Osoner. Appreciate you writing in with the positive reinforcement
totally agree about how the Airpods look and sound, great review. Much appreciated
I Have The Jabra 65T as well and some times I feel I'm not wearing anything. Really amazing and far superior sound... Apple, a little advice... let others in the sound industry lead the market. Some of your products are good by luck not because you spend money in RND to listen to consumer's voices.
This is the review that I was looking for thank you very much I was thinking the same thing thanks again
Thanks for the review, I’m going to purchase one today
They're also easy to knock out.
Agreed. If you jump around at all or lay horizontal to do sit-ups or push-ups etc, they often fall out. So not a good workout option for me unless you are in a vertical position.
Thanks for this advice, I was considering them for yoga practice.
The AirPods looks almost exactly like the EarPods just without the cable. I am using the AirPods since almost a year on a daily basis wherever I go. Really absolutely gave me a strange look or something ever.
Yes. They do look like their old wired earbuds without the cord. Not really a leap in design. It's the big long stem which stick out that makes them not appealing to look at. If that was shorter, or they made it in black, it would have been better.
Funny, Funny, Funny... Just have to see the review over and over!
Completely agree, I had the airpods but returned them because they don't have good controls at all, especially if you have an Android phone. I then picked up the 65t and they are definitely the best wireless earbuds.
Sorry for the delay. I have been away from this channel for a while but will be back now that sailing season is almost over and I have the Mavic 2 Pro to review. Yes the 65T are much better. I just wish they weren't so damn slippery and had a magnet that held them in the case because I drop them all the time. One day I'm gonna drop them down a sewer grate. haha
Thank you so much! I was really very confused about purchasing the AirPods! and I bought the Apple AirPods!! well, believe me or not I found all good and bad things you just mentioned, So, I had to return them (that was one of the thing made me buying the Apple AirPods.... I can return them!!) Now I am convince buying the Jabra Elite 65t. Thanks once again you being very honest and fare about the products.
I really enjoyed this review though I was listening with my Jabra Elite 65t.
Samsung just came out with their new Galaxy Buds and they are AWESOME! They also have Ambient sound which makes it so that you can let your surroundings in and you don’t have to take the earbuds out. You can also enhance voice audio.
You go on and on and on and on and on......
A real everyday man kind of review. Nice
i love your honest review lol
I really like your review mate also the funny stuff you was saying kept me watching lol
Happy wife is happy life - yep! If that isn't a driver right there...
Hillarious :D You're so right :P - thanks for the confirmation, I'll go with Jabra elite 65t
Jabra is good but talk to someone in a loud place does not work, the other person can hear everything around you and not you. Have yoy noticed that too taking calls in loud places?
That's the same with airpods, it's even worse on airpods because they only use one mic per pod the elites have two
I bought the AirPods when they first came out. No one wanted them everyone made fun of them but now everyone wants a pair or everyone from middle school kids and up are using them for fashion. Gave mine to my son he’s 11 and is super cool with them lol. I just purchased the 65t elite no looking back now
Which is better
Jabra elite 65t or Rha true connect wireless?
Hey Craig,
Haven't commented in a while but wanted to chime in on this. I'm usually a big Apple fan, but I find all of their earbuds to be extremely uncomfortable - going all the way back to my first Ipod. Love the new channel!
Hey GLC. I agree with you. I have always found the hard plastic earbuds that Apple has put out to be uncomfortable, there is no noise isolation, and they often fall out of your ears (especially the wired ones) when you exercise. I am not sure why I bought these 5 months ago? I guess I was brainwashed by loving most all things Apple. Although, my love is waning and They are starting to lose me. The latest Macbooks were a real disappointment. The no earphone jacks in the phones was a kick to the nards and now these crappy looking and feeling AirPods. It feels like Apple does no market research of what people want anymore. Sad. Once innovative and ahead of the pack, but, now falling farther behind their competitors in almost every product line.
Hahaha, a scooter! That's the truth. I am looking into the Jabra elite 65t's
You mentioned that you don't like to sleep with the airpods in ( I actually find that they work pretty well for that). I was curious though - how do the Jabra Elite 65t compare in terms of sleeping? It looks to me like they stick out of the ears quite a bit, and it makes me think that if you were on your side they would likely press into your ears and head and be uncomfortable.
Great review. Great great!!!!
Thanks for an excellent review/comparison!! BTW...which Smartwatch are you wearing??
i love such an honest review. It is definitely not worth the hundred of dollars lol(airpods).
You hit head on about Apple not really doing their market research.
Hey man, not hating but I have the Jabra and it seems you don't screw them in to your ear right. If you want the real isolation, that's where it's at.
Great review! Thanks!
Thanks.
The stem holds the battery.and the charger port.i agree with you on most of the other stuff but I don’t think they could’ve fit much else into those things
Apple makes earrings now? That’s what my grandma said when she saw the airpods
Thank you for your honest opinion on Apple!. Most fan people don't like to admit that Apple sucks now. I liked Apple at one point but now don't like it at all. They are so slow to adapt new or ongoing tech which Android devices has had for years and has fallen behind and it's frustrating that I gave up. Prime example, Quickcharge and even then it's not the full version and they make you pay for the Quickcharge cable and charger.
OK, I get it - you hate the Apple Earbuds :). They never appealed to me..... I have very narrow ear canals so they would not stay in my ears and I would lose them pronto. I like the Jabra ones but I prefer to use my Phillips bluetooth in-ear headset though they are bright green which is just a bit obvious lol
Ha Ha. I think I was being vague? In case it wasn't clear, I am not a fan of the Airpods. ha ha. My most comfortable overall listening experience is an over the ear headphones I have with active noise cancelling. But I am not one who thinks walking around in public with big Headphones on your head is cool. So these Jabra 65t are a good compromise and allows me to wear them in public. Although small and with no wires, the sound is Good and they have a with a lot of features. It's just not as rich of a sound as full noise cancelling headphones. But we can't expect that on a tiny earbud speaker. So not a fair comparison.
That was a great review and comparison. I agree with you 100%. The apple ones looks UGLY. I have chosen never to buy them. I finally just for the Jabra Elite but was disappointed to find I can not connect it to my laptop. i.e. listening to you tube etc. Seems like they have Jabra Evolve (more expensive though) for that. However, my daughters airpods work just fine on laptop. So to me, that is a big difference.
Hi Craig,
New to the channel and enjoying it. Came for the sailing, but love the tech coverage. I do video editing and production for my day job, and spend most days when I'm in the office with headphones on/in. Last year I bought a pair of the Jaybird X3's and love them. amzn.to/2IQCbcy . The battery life is fantastic and they are comfortable (with the memory foam tips). You said 'Truly wireless' several times...what did you mean by truly wireless? Do you mean each earbud is a separate connection and no wire between them? Just curious. Thanks for the reviews.
Thanks. I have X3s as well. They are good. "True wireless" does mean that the earbuds are not connected to each other by a cord. Without a annoying cords pulling on your neck the earbuds feel lighter and less likely to get pulled out of your ears.
I am a audio freak... This sound great!
How does these stand against the
Jabra Elite Sport True Wireless you'd say?
You can hear what's around you with the Jabra...you have to download the app and set the hear through setting.
You don't need the app to turn hear through on/off
I had to file down one of my apple EarPods with a fingernail file to prevent pain...worked like a charm...still uncomfortable to lay head on pillow though.
I had a bluetooth adapter Jabra back in 2003, with 30 meters distance LOL
The best thing about the Jabra's is they connect to both my android and ios phones simultaneously.. no other truly wireless earphones do that..
Ya it is a good feature until one of your products is just barely out of range and while you are lying in bed it keeps telling you it has reconnected over and over to the other device. Then you have to go find that other device (usually my ipad downstairs) and turn off the bluetooth. ha ha. So not all features work out to be a benefit. :-)
Wait I'm confused. What's the benefit of having two phones connected at once? Like how would anyone actually use that feature?
They are just the number one selling wireless ear buds out.
Great vid, thanks. Can you do a comparison review between the 3 different versions of the Jabra Elite (Jabra Elite 65t, Jabra Active 65t, and Jabra Elite Sport)? I have a drawer full of Bluetooth headsets. But, keep going back to my outdated Jabra Wave headsets. Have wrestled over buying the Apple Earbuds many, many times. You have resolved that conflict within me, thanks. I am trying to decide which Jabra Elite to buy.
I would love to do a comparison of all 3. If someone in Ottawa has the other 2 pairs and wants to bring them over to my place and make a comparison video with me, I am all for it. But, I can't afford to be buying every sexy piece of tech just to compare everything to each other all the time. I need to get a community of Ottawa Tech Fans who want to help me make videos by bringing their "Hot" tech to me to try. That would be fun . :-)
You just need some nice make-up and mascara with those apple earrings...
Another annoying thing about these wireless ear buds is if you lose the case like I did they want $70 for a new one. The case is small and light and fell out of my pocket on a hike and I never noticed it was gone. Come on $70 for the case. Their cost is probably less than $10. Something to consider.
I agree, my AirPods do look ridiculous in my ears. But not because of the shape or color... they're very similar to the wired EarPods that ship with millions of iPhones that people. My AirPods stick out away from the side of my face at a slight angle. All the other people wearing AirPods sit like yours do, nice and flush along the face.
Other than that I enjoy my AirPods but do see the appeal of the Jabra. Although I think the Jabra case would annoy me more than looks of the AirPods. The AirPod case doesn't have any of the issues the Jabra does.
BTW, you can get some nice inexpensive vinyl wraps for the AirPods.
Thanks. Yes, the case is the big flaw of the Jabras. They really should have made the charging spots magnetic so that the earbud just suck in as you get close. Now if you throw the case in a lose bag there is a decent chance you will find the earbuds loose in the bottom of the bag when you get to your destination. Getting dirty and maybe crushed by the other things in your bag. The Jabras also stick father out of your ear so you really can't keep them in your ear while you nap. For sleeping with earbuds in the airpods are OK but the best for low profile is the Jaybird Freedom 2s. I sleep with them in almost every night. Even when the timer stops the podcasts I fall asleep to the earbuds seal your ear canal and act as earplugs. Then I don't get disturbed by snoring or other noises. I should do an episode on that.
Haha thanks a lot!
Really helpful useful
Sorry for the delay. I have been away from this channel for a while but will be back now that sailing season is almost over and I have the Mavic 2 Pro to review. Glad you like it.
I bought it after watching your helpful review. It isn't perfect but the most useful. Thanks and I'm gonna watch the review of mebic pro
Glad to hear it. Thanks
You should compare the airpods with jabra elite active 65t
He has all that apple gear, but he just chose to use the samsung galaxy watch 😂😂
Jabra has hearthrough
I agree.
thx mate!
What type of phone do you use when you're using the Jabra Elite's?
I have the Samsung Gear icon X 2018. And now I also have the New Galaxy Buds. I was having trouble with my Gear iConX 2018 losing volume. The Galaxy Buds are a lot more comfortable too.
Airpods no noise isolation ..... I'd go with jabra freakin awesome
thanks.
Yea they are great thanks for reply and great review. Question is how do you Pair one ear at a time
At work I’m only allowed on ear bud?
When you put on the jabras in your ear midway through a phone call, does the audio transfer automatically to the earbuds from the phone like in the airpods?
LOL! Loved it Thank you...
Beats x are great. Have the apple chip so sync is a breeze and they have the lightening cable.
Im sure they are good. I have one pair of beats. They sound good but they are the on ear type and after a while I get "ear fatigue". No really, that is a real thing. ha ha
@@averagetechfan7106 yes you're right. BeatsX gave me ear fatigue. There's no bass and the treble tore my ear
I use the Rowkin Bit Charge Stereo. Not a fan of this category of electronics in general. I don't think you can make a tiny wireless earbud sound good, look good, and/or last long.
The sad part is that they have sold so well that I don’t see Apple changing the design anytime soon.
Have you watched a CZcams video with them? If so where they in sync? Thanks
Sorry for the delay. I have been away from this channel for a while but will be back now that sailing season is almost over and I have the Mavic 2 Pro to review. Yes the Sync is good with these. They have the latest bluetooth, so I think that helps the sync normal.
Can I ask which is more suitable to med student? Comfort and sound quality is important
whatever zhu jabra elite for sure
It as if I am in your body as you are saying exactly what I thought when I made my decision, and as a result, Apple was not my decision.
I just got a pair and I must say the sound quality is not as good as I expected (sounded a little muffled) and the EQ doesn't seem to do much (??) maybe my expectations were too high? There was some lag on some videos but not too bad. Also sometimes (not sure why?) there was no sound at all but after putting the pods back into the charger for a few minutes it was ok but a little disappointing
Craig is that a Garmin Fenix 5X on your wrist? If so will you be reviewing it?
I wish. If so I would do a review on it for sure. It is the Garmin Fenix 3 HR. Once it finally breaks I will be in the market for a new "Smart Watch".
i just got the Fenix 5S a couple weeks ago and so far no complaints. Just curious how you liked yours and it's GPS features.
I don't have a 5 but I like the watch I do have.
I’ll be entirely honest, I really don’t have the opinion that most do regarding the AirPods. I really think they don’t look bad! I mean, they don’t look good but I don’t think they look bad. Plus, I like the way they are a slim profile. I don’t think people should be self conscious about them being a fashion faux pa. I mean who cares what others think right? I honestly don’t but I may be in the minority in this regard. I just do, say, and wear things (in this specific sense) that I don’t mind the look of. It’s not to say I don’t get we;f conscious from time to time but I wear audience iSine’s inpublic and those things look pretty ugly so meh I couldn’t care less about aesthetics regarding audio drivers. I don’t own them but I may due to convenience since I use apple devices but I’m leaning to the Bose quiet comforts. Finally, if any of you don’t feel good wearing AirPods for any reason under the sun the that’s just you and I completely get it so we all need to understand a single product can’t please everyone.
Love your non PC style! Reminds me of me..lol
Can you use one Jabra at a time like the airpods? With my airpods I usually switch back and forth between them all day long. Rarely, if ever, do I have them both in at the same time.
Creed0514 from my experience u can have the right one in while the left one is the case
