Originating in Kingston's shanty towns in the late 1950s, Jamaica's rudeboys were young rebels in sharp mohair suits, thin ties and pork pie hats. The style is now back in fashion, as curators of a new exhibition hope to show.

after that clown said it wasnt about the music or the clothes. i turned it off. he is completely off base. Its not back.. These people are just playing dress up like halloween, and do not have any ties to the music because they did not grow up with it at the same time affecting their lives and mirroring the social climate. they are just picking up a fad, a trend, and exploiting it.

I remember the black Rudeboys in the early eighties and yes they wore suits sometimes, but most of the time they looked very street, Harrington jackets, Fred Perry, hitched up Sta Prest and loads of badges on the jacket. They looked a lot like the Skinheads minus the boots.
