Making the Most of BigtreeTech Touchscreens, Including the TFT35 v3, by Updating the Screen Firmware

- The BigtreeTech touchscreens can work out of the box with BTT boards. In this video, I will walk you through updating the screen firmware for the BigtreeTech TFT35 v3 (amzn.to/3K4MTIx). The same steps should work for the following screens:

Excellent video! It has really answered many questions for me. I am however having an issue where in Marlin mode I can adjust temperatures for each hotend. While i touch mode I can only see one hotend (i have a dual extrusion machine). In touch mode I can only toggle between bed and T0...... Do you maybe seen this before or am I just missing how you do change between hotends in touch mode?
I have not seen it before but take a look at the BTT screen config files. It is part of the files you put on the SD card and flash. Take a look at the options. It might be a setting in there.
Thank you for posting this video. What screen should I get for my Ender 3 V2 with Sprite pro Extruder to replace its stock screen? Is there one that fits its casing or is it something I would need get and print a casing for. All videos I see are for replacing standard Ender 3 or in this case a Ender 5.
I have used the BTT TFT 3.5 v3 on several printers. I think it depends on your budget.

Was hoping to customize this firmware for a laser frame, so that it streams the grbl gcode to the stm32 controller over the tx/Rx four wire connection. Can you help with this?
I have not added a laser to any of.my printers. Post your code and I can take a look.
Great video. Finally did an update to my TFT35 after owning it for 4yrs. I do have a question. I'm looking to remove the (un)load/load button & replace it back with the extrude button. I prefer the manual 1mm/5mm/10mm extrusions instead of the (un)load/load. Would that be a Marlin code? Or in the config.ini? Been searching through it & haven't found anything yet. I've disabled all M600 features already.
You might be able to do it in the config.ini but I am not sure. Although I have not used them, have you looked at marlin macros?

Does anyone know if SKR Mini E3 V3.0 can handle a 50Watt heater cartridge without turning to toast ?

at 13:53, what application did you use to open up the Marlin folder? My laptop won’t allow me to open it for some reason

@@minimal3dp i do have one more question. So around 23:16, i followed all the steps for the config files in the Marlin folder and tried to build it, but it said it failed. Plus the screen setup in your video doesn’t look the same to what I have
@@groovy_racc2252 you shouldn't have to build you are just editing the config file. Use the existing bin to flash. You place all your files including the bin and config on the root of your SD to flash.

@@minimal3dp i am using miracle icons as well. And thats what I did, I edited the files like you did in your video. Are you saying I need to grab a firmware for my printer, a BIQU B1, and put it in Marlin Auto Build?
Hello. ı use mks genl v2.1 and mks tft35 v1.0 screen. But i have a problem whenever ı want the start printing from the sd card, the tempreate values freeze and the machine does nothing. But ı can use all other functions from the screen. please helpp..
What does you SD card section look like in marlin? Have you tried a different SD?

Is it possible to upload only a file that changes the language to another one?
It should be. You will need to see if the language is available.
Is there a way to change the filament in the touch menu?
Is it only in 12864 mode.....
I give up, I've tried everything and it doesn't work and there's no help on the internet anywhere
I read everything from the video and all the articles, but there is no solution
I have TFT50 V3.0 (V27 softwave)
everything works fine and is connected to btt skr 1.2 pro (no software inside yet)
but as soon as I insert the config.ini into the TFT50, it updates and turns on, then beeps continuously for a few seconds and restarts in 30 seconds, and so on and on without interruption until I turn it off
Can anyone help, I really don't know if I'm doing something wrong

Could you please let me know how to hide the bed icon from the display? I have tried multiple times without success. I would appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue.
Here are the details of the software I am using:
Mainboard: Marlin 2.1.x
Display Firmware: BIGTREETECH TFT50 V3.0.1
I am not sure. Take a look through the config file. There might be a setting.

What are the dots that appear on the top of the screens?
I am out of town for a couple of days so I can’t look. Is the manual on the BTT GitHub to look up?
@@minimal3dp Can't find any mention of it anywhere. Seems it corresponds to maybe heater or data transfer, not sure. I am also seeing the same dots on other TFT35's found online.

Great tutorial, But i will spill some advise here, If you have a Ender 5 Plus, Dont try putting these MiniE3v3 and screens and boards in unless you know everything. I gave up after hundreds of attempts, proper depressed me, Then i gave it to a shop, Proper depressed them too, Three trained technicians and 6 weeks later. It worked ok for around a week, maybe ten prints and now its a nightmare again. Im binning the MiniE3v3 board and fitting Duet3d instead.
I have actually had good luck with the BTT boards. It sounds like your experience was a nightmare.
