- The morning after winning season 22 of Survivor Boston Rob talks to Chris Van Vliet from WOIO in Cleveland. He also talks about the Boston Red Sox chances of winning the World Series this year.

He completely manipulated everyone around him, controlling them mentally. It was one of the best showing of a social game in the history of the game.Yes he was playing with a bunch of dumbasses, but nothing was stopping everyone from just saying fuck rob lets go to the final without him, but he controlled them and brought a little girl who didnt do anything and a phyco that no one would vote for. Complete domination if you ask me
You forgot about the fact that Rob had set up the split vote perfectly. It was a FAIL-SAFE plan but his ally Tyson screwed them all over by not going through with it. Like Rob said in this video, you can do everything perfectly and get unlucky and still lose.
That built the legend of Russell, Russell goes early if Tyson sticks to a easy plan
This is why most people think it's a conspiracy because Rob had that vote set up perfectly and Tyson messed it up so people think production hatched this big plot to make sure Russell stays in the game
@@anthonymort5202 Most people definitely don't think that lmao. I know production has done some shady shit but no I have to disagree with that. I don't really see any evidence for that unlike with Stacy from season 1. I see Tyson being a smart player making a colossal blunder trying to befriend the minority alliance.
What I do think though is it wasn't some galaxy brain move by Russell. I believe he even said he was ready to go home and show his kids what it means to be a good guy and sacrifice himself for Parvati since he was already exhausted from playing back to back but Tyson's error saved them.
ugh all these haters saying this season sucked cause it was HIS show, cMon guys ! He made the show amazing and he DID pay a perfect game ! He's the ultimate survivor !

He's perfect. Handsome, a winner, and such a good man, happily giving his million to his wife. She hit the jackpot with him, not winning the show.

@@chrisluders9592 Ah, man. You're right and I'm disappointed that I wrote that. I remember seeing her on "Winners at War" saying that she didn't feel like she deserved her win because of comments like mine. Ugh. Edited it out!

His self assurance and ability to gain such a strong authority and grasp of the social dynamics right off the bat was incredibly impressive. The way he was able to rally his team around his own agenda despite other conflicting interests and despite entering season 22 as a seasoned veteran with an enormous target on his back was unparalleled survivor game play!
He was playing chess while everyone else was playing duck duck let's just give Rob the million dollars on a silver platter.

@thehappydaggerzandme The thing is, some of the members of that tribe said they were very willing to work with Boston Rob. They cut Russell so early simply because his style of play is very alieniating, you're not good when people hate you because of how you play. On the other hand, Rob has proven that he's a smart strategist who can build relations, look at All Star, everyone trusted him because he comes across as so personal. Lastly, Francesca & Kristina didn't last long, how's that good?

@7009Rice You're right, Rob isn't in the same league as Russell. Rob is a survivor season winner. Russell isn't. Rob plays a social game to get votes from the jury, Russell doesn't. Rob is good at challenges, Russell isn't.

The cast makeup was tailored precisely to Rob's strong suits and Russell's weak suits. The network knew exactly what had just fallen into their laps.
Rob is all about Amber and I love it he picked his wife as his favorite winner besides himself and he's saying his wife gets the money the second he gets the check so he's all about her it's so cute

@7009Rice You seem to forget Rob's 2nd place finish on All Stars (season 8). Rob was only 1 final vote off winning that entire season, and it was a season played against survivor vets. Rob's 2nd best effort was better than any of Russ's 3 efforts. Rob may not be the best ever, but he's definitely better than Russell. Russell's strategy to sobatge his own tribe so they lose challenges, or to piss potential jury members off is just DUMB. There's nothing strategic about that. U keep yr opinion tho.

While that is true, and he played a great game that fell apart do to outside forces, he wasn't capable of salvaging his game. Basically, he's a great player, so long as nothing goes wrong.
By that logic every Survivor is a great player.

at first he made an alliance with steve mike and david but then before he found the clue the started to ignore him so russell had no choice but to make an alliance with stephanie and krista
It took him 4 seasons to win. Sandra played 2 seasons and won both. So how does that make Rob the best player?
It's because of how dominant he is as a player. There are NBA players like JaVale McGee who have a ring while someone like Charles barkley who don't and that doesn't mean JaVale is better than Charles.
Sandra is a better player than Rob, credit to rob he came up with elaborate plans, he adapted, but at the end of each season the winner is the person who played the best game. And sometimes the best game is the simplest game

the goal in survivor is not to be the most controlling. the goal is to get winning jury votes.
Rob did a great job and he made it look so easy, The people on his tribe were dummies I think. The girls followed him around like little puppies and the guys were abit star struck.
Rob proved that you dont have to be a "nice" person to win Survivor. He lied, he backstabbed and controlled every single person on his tribe. He played the perfect game and while i cant say i 100 percent enjoyed this season, i am happy Rob won and that shows that the jury is not always bitter.

Funny how the last four immunity challenges were all puzzles - not a single endurance challenge.
I seem to recall one with stairs that required a significant amount of physical endurance

russell was screwed by his own tribe..its not fair to say Rob>Russell because it wasnt a clean season and they dont even get to be in the same tribe together.

@94aragorn1 If Russell was smart he would have shared the clue to gain trust from his tribemates. He needed to gain trust, because unlike HV, he didn't have an advantage of him knowing the game play of everybody else, but nobody knowing his gameplay.
Rob should win, just so that he will not keep coming back to survivor. Millions of Rob haters will be spared from his disgusting attitude. Thank you CBS for ending his appearance, period !!!

Let's be real here, this season was designed to make sure either Russell or Rob would eventually get to be on Winners at War.
After watching again, seems the entire season was geared towards Rob. Just about every immunity had to do with some kind of puzzle competition. There were absolutely NO water challenges. This was definitely geared to Rob’s strength…🤔🫤

BUT, in the season of Redemption Island, no one else deserved that win but Boston Rob. He played with a bunch of idiots, therefore he's the "least" idiotic in that season and deserved that win. He was the only one there who actually played using the social and strategic aspect of the game. Not to mention he won four immunity challenges.
He did an awesome job. But he was also very lucky. Most of the players were idiots and let him win.
@94aragorn1 Because russel dug his own grave by doing the same old tactic from the last 2 seasons he played... allying himself with the least amount of people and relying on a hidden immunity idol... which didn't quite work on season 22 LOL! Rob owned Russel by adapting and changing strategies! Cheers! =)
to be fair russ played the same twice because the first season he made it to the end and actually thought he won. he didn’t find out until after playing twice that he lost and he made it to the end both times
While I think he did play awesome games in All-Stars and Redemption Island, he didn't even make the jury two out of four times he played. How is he the best? No way.

He didn't even need to play in Redemption Island because all the girls did dirty works for him. I can't believe Andrea was only one who saw trough him. She should have won instead.
Agree except the Andrea overcredit. Andrea was just as dumb as everyone else, maybe dumber, until her first vote out. She only saw through him AFTER getting voted out and returning to the game for a day. Andrea has become a good player since, but this season she was useless just like all of Ometepe.

Idiots who actually think Russell plays a better game then Rob. Sure he went to the finals twice but to play the best you have to win, getting to the finals and not winning just means you played over aggressively, and thats what he did so the jury didnt vote for him. Rob did that the first time in All stars, he didnt win. This time he was clever enough to not make himself totally hated and bring weak players to the finals with him.
Yes Rob is just like Russell minus not having Russell's ability to find idols, but plus being just a bit nicer and more importantly being a WAY better judge of what a goat is and what a goat isnt. Russell would have probably taken Grant and Andrea to the finals instead of Natalie and Phillip.
Rob's a bit overrated.
