    Positions of Arms and Feet
    1️⃣ First position
Stand with your heels together and your toes turned out to the sides, creating a small "V" shape between your feet.
Your arms should be rounded and held slightly in front of your body.
    2️⃣ Second position
Step your feet apart so they are shoulder-width apart. Extend your arms out to the sides at shoulder height.
    3️⃣ Third position
Bring one foot in front of the other, so that the heel of the front foot touches the arch of the back foot. Your arms are usually held as a combination of first, in front of the body and second position, extended to the side.
    4️⃣ Fourth position
Step one foot forward and to the side, so that your feet are not quite shoulder-width apart. Your arms are usually held as a combination of first, in front of the body and fifth, crowning your head.
    5️⃣ Fifth position
Bring one foot in front of the other, so that the heel of the front foot touches the toe of the back foot. Your arms can be held in any position, but they are usually held in a rounded shape above your head
    6️⃣ Sixth position
A relaxed neutral position with your feet parallel.
To execute these positions, it's important to maintain proper ballet posture by keeping your back straight, shoulders down, and core engaged. Don't forget to point your toes and fully stretch your legs to create long, elegant lines.

Two years ago I had the pleasure to attend a course of baroque dance after hating dancing all my life 😅 I have been getting so out of shape lately and thought to myself that dance would help me get back on track so I was very happy to see your new series pop up! Thank you so much! I have been doing some of your exercises before and they were amazing, too ☺

Thank you for offering this series. I love your enthusiasm, you make me feel like a kid again. I am a dressage rider and think that ballet is the answer to improving my position, strength and suppleness in the saddle...and out.

Thankyouthankyouthank youu for posting these videos and making ballet less intimidating and achievable for us normal humans ♥️ I would love to start right away but sice I'm not very strong, I think I'm going to work on building my muscles first ...

well done! but unfortunately the arms in 4th position are wrong. You've passed the arms in the high 3rd position. The 4th position for the arms has one arm in 1st and one arm in couronne. It's with great kindness that I take the liberty of pointing out this detail. 😇🙏

    • @lazydancertips
      @lazydancertips  Před 7 měsíci +1

Thank you 🙏🏻 💕 the 4th position you mentioned and the one I teach are both right. 😊 The one with one arm in 1st and one in 5th, I call it crossed. It’s the same case as a changement battue and a royal. Same step different name. Different techniques call the same steps in many different ways. 🤷🏼‍♀️
After many year dancing I don’t pay attention to “what a step it’s called” anymore.
Usually choreophers care about what you can deliver more than if you know all names of steps.
In my opinion, the Most important thing is to dance. 💃
      So let’s Have fun 🤩
