Planet Hell from this same concert is HARD. It's a mix of her vocals and the bassist's vocals, pretty fast-paced.

My first introduction to Nightwish was the video for I Wish I Had An Angel. I promptly became a fan. I loved the operatic mix with metal. I have found things I love with every one of their singers.
Fun fact. Tarja actually sang this with another Finish group a few years ago. (Steve N Seagulls) She still sounds beautiful.

Wish I Had an Angel was also for me the song to become a fan. I was sad, that i never see them live performig this song with the original singers. And now, 19 years later, Tarja and Marko are together on tour and perform the song live again.

This is Tarja Turunen, the original singer and co-founder of the band. She is classically trained and it was her amazing vocals that helped Nightwish define the genre of symphonic metal! For a really good banger song, try "Slaying the Dreamer" live from the same End of an Era concert. Another really awesome song is "The Siren" again from this concert 😊

Unfortunately for us, they have taken a hiatus from touring for some unspecified period of time. But I'm sure they will be back, as they've just signed a new contract with the record label, and no doubt it was those ongoing contract negotiations that cast question marks over the financial backing to plan a massive world tour. But when they are touring, it is surprisingly inexpensive. My wife and I saw them in Miami in 2018 and even sprung the extra bucks for the backstage, V.I.P. meet-n-greet tickets. And all that was, if I recall correctly, only about 80 bucks a ticket.

This is the first singer Tarja Turunen who was predominantly an operatic style singer. She doesn't sing in any other style until later in her career once she was sacked. Virtually every song was written by Tuomas Holopainen the keyboardist and he wrote everything for her voice. The second singer, Anette Olzon, couldn't sing any of Tarja's songs properly and it's only since Floor that they have started performing music from every album.

Overall, the camera direction is a disaster. You'll see what happens. Since the keyboard player writes almost all of the songs, he is guaranteed to attract attention.
Tarja wanted to become an opera singer and started training for it. She never finished it. Instead, she studied art song, which is classical chamber music, in Germany in 2002/03. Basically what she does today:
TARJA 'Ohne Dich' - Official Live Video - 'Live at Metal Church' Out Now
She then requests a stop from Nightwish to produce and tour her first solo album. In response, she is fired from Nightwish.
The comparison with Floor shows where the problem is. Tarja always stuck to opera singing during her time with Nightwish. That's exactly what Tarja fans want. Floor uses their typical mix of classical and pop:
NIGHTWISH. SLEEPING SUN. (FLOOR JANSEN) - 2016

Sorry, but there are a lot of mistakes in your post. Tarja finished her training with her studies in Germany. Art Song is a course of study for classical solo artists, i.e. opera singers. Classical chamber music is purely instrumental music. She studied in Karlsruhe from 2001 to 2003.
The video you quoted from the Metal Curch concert in 2016 is not what she mainly does today. Tarja has released six rock/metal albums in her solo career and is currently working on her seventh. There are also several Christmas albums and live albums as well as the Best of Album. The Wacken Metal Curch concert is a classical concert with a few musicians similar to her Christmas concerts, but in contrast to this is the "Beauty and the Beat" album, where she performs with a large symphony orchestra and choir.
Her ending on Nightwish wasn't as you described either. Tarja wanted to record another album with Nightwish after Once and go on tour. Afterwards she wanted to leave Nightwish and start a solo career. Nightwish then decided to record the new album with a new singer and fired Tarja.
She didn't write her first solo rock album (My Winterstorm) until 2007, two years after she was kicked out of Nightwish.
Tarja is currently on tour with Marko Hietala, who left Nightwish in 2020. There is already a new song from Marko and Tarja (Left on Mars). Another one has already been announced.

@@AndreasLingelmann Art song and opera are not the same and therefore they are different training courses that have the same basis. That's why Tarja is not an opera singer today, but a classically trained one.
Art Song was created in the 19th century to transform bourgeois music into courtly music. Simply put: Pop meets classical in the 19th century. That's what Tarja essentially does today, in different variations, with a lot of contemporary music.
Chamber music in its origins was the music played in the private apartments of the nobles, whatever that was. In the Baroque period it becomes what you describe. Currently it is being brought back to its origins and it is more classical music in general, performed with a small ensemble. There are now operas that are called chamber music because they are performed with a small ensemble.
In addition to the studio albums, she was also involved in numerous collaborations. She recorded a joint album with her opera school and a pop album with Outlanders. The live album Beauty & the Beat is classic rock with compositions by classical music musicians, in collaboration with singer Mike Terrana. Live at Sibelius Hall is a collaboration with HARUS and other singers and is church music. There is no studio album for the last two albums because they were one-off live projects and go under the name Tarja. There are more.
The Metal Church concert with a chamber music group that plays metal fits in quite well and is pretty Tarja. Tarja wanted to leave Nightwish because she didn't just want to do rock. Tarja sees herself as a classical singer, not a rock singer. That was and is the problem I have with her.
