    This awesome! We’re in the process of buying a 30ft regular travel trailer and we’re thinking of putting a combo machine in it. I can get ours hooked up on the power grid at on the land we’ll be using but still kinda worried if it could cause issues in the camper. I mean I don’t see why it wouldn’t work but this video helps me understand the work we’ll have to put into it to have it. Thanks for posting guys it helps sooooo much!!

    I was raised in a camper my father was the lake supervisor/ Sgt of the lake patrol. I deeply miss the life. We had a home but my family fished and hunted year round so it made since to live on the lake. Im looking at options to buy a used 5th wheel. My main concern was laundry. Im a retired military so running into town is not an option for me. I like the set up.

    Thanks so much for the lovely video and the highly useful info.
    I've lived in my travel trailer when working on the road for close to 7 years now. I initially bought a 22 FB Jayco Feather, since I only had a Jeep Liberty (2009) at that time. It has served me well but, since I now have an F250 Diesel with 15 K Lb towing capacity - I plan to get a 28 or 30 ft travel trailer and have a washing machine installed in it. I also want to ensure a 12 gal water heater in it and an electric coil heater (for "endless showers").
    Good luck to both of you, stay SAFE and perhaps see you on the road, or at one of the RV campsites.

    Glad to hear you like it! I'm in the process of installing a 7100xc ventless in our shed out back! We're in a 38ft 5th wheel, but there are 6 and we've pretty much used up all the available space! We've got a "home base" with our shed, so that's where the washer/dryer is going. Our RV is 50 amp, so I'm wiring up the shed with 30 amp power to take advantage of the included electrical at the park! I've also wired it up so that our space heater runs out to the 15 am plug on the power pole outside, and our outdoor fridge is plugged into the other outlet plug. A lot going on here.

    I'm with you Jen- having your own washer is a MUST. I can live without a dryer, but like one. My problem is I don't have all these technical skills. I don't know how to reinstall cabinetry and make everything work to fit my needs. I would have to pay someone like you guys to do this for me. Where do you find someone who can totally redo the inside of one of these like you have done? I just subscribed to your channel to try to find out more but basically I can't do what you guys are doing. I would like to live in something smaller like you have, maybe smaller. I'm noticing that most RVs has terrible kitchens and they aren't designed for someone who eats all their Paleo meals from unprocessed, fresh ingredients. Same with the refrigerator storage space. I can fill up a regular fridge fast. Laundry and cooking are the only things I thought would be hard about living in an RV. In terms of Aesthetics, I would definitely want to do something about all that ugly wood that you see in most RVs. What you see affects your mood and I like the look of your place.

    This is a great video. I don't own a RV but will be looking for one in near future. I love a 5th wheel because more storage space. Most 5th wheels I'm looking (27' - 30') do not offer a washer/dryer, but after watching your video, I would have more options to choose from now. I am not a handy man like you so might have to hire someone to install one for us.

  • @WD860
    @WD860 Před 6 lety +1

    I've got eight washer dryers of my own, this Splendide, AKA Indesit, has a 6KG/4KG load.
    I'd only ever use Cottons cycles and the max spin RPM the machine has, followed by no less than 60 mins, no more than 90 mins dependant on the load.
    Only difference between this and mine, are mine are all condenser washer dryers and connect to cold only, so only two pipes (cold inlet & drain), other than power, and there'd be no vent, so even more storage in your case.
    I'd recommend a condenser if the Splendide ever packs up, maybe aim for a 1400 or 1600RPM model, as the faster the spin, the less time for dryin'.
    Hopefully it'll last, Indesits/Indesit made rebadged are renowned for bearin' failure and sealed drums (encasin' the bearin's).

One additional thing I have learned is that a lot of people complain about the drying time, which apparently is due to the fact that they are using the non-vented version. Unless you have a one-way valve on your drain, you have a potential health problem with how you set it up.
    Other than that, you have a real cool setup. I'm planning on going full-time in an RV next year, and I think I might copy what you did. (It's those little things about living that are hard to predict until you start in the lifestyle.)
    Thanks!

    • @ToWanderFreely
      @ToWanderFreely  Před 8 lety +2

      +David Messer Our setup is a little unorthodox, my thinking is the washer/dryer has a backflow preventer near where the drain line attaches to the unit to keep drain water from coming back into the unit as it gets pumped up and out. I'm thinking the backflow preventor also keeps fumes, etc. from the black tank from getting into the unit/RV. We have not experienced any problems, but definitely use your own judgement and a one-way valve sounds like a great idea to us! Thanks for the feedback, and our sincerest best wishes for your upcoming travels!

      Hi! I set the dryer to 40 minutes, and that will get my clothes mostly dry. If I am doing towels and want them completely dry, I do 60 min. dry time. I have not actually timed the wash cycle but I think it is around 40 min. The nice thing is that you set the dry time at the beginning, so it automatically goes to dry after the wash cycle is done. Hope that helps!

      To Wander Freely that's great. I guess I was expecting it to be 3 hours for a combo washer/dryer

      Yes, I think that is actually what they were created for. We are extending the use by putting it on our RV.

    We want to get a combo washer/dryer as well but have heard the dryer is not very effective, meaning it takes hours to dry towels. Have you had this problem? If not, what kind of washer/dryer combo did you get?

      +Donna Vorce Here is all the info on the washer/dryer: towanderfreely.com/?p=1444 You have a great question, and yes, it does take longer than a normal dryer would to dry things. When I do towels, I set the dry cycle for 60 minutes. Usually they are just barely damp at that point, and I hang them in the bathroom to finish drying. Or, I dry them for another 20 minutes and they are totally dry by that time. I have never dried anything more than 80 minutes in mine. Hope that is helpful.

      +Donna Vorce As this machine is Indes(h)it based, don't expect much from the dryer. Or any other W&D combo really.
      Best thing for drying is to dry half loads, otherwise it wouldn't dry for a thing.

      And with that being said: come over to Yurop and buy yourself a 220V Miele WT745 W&D combo. Hands down the BEST combo ever made, aside from the USA gas-powered ones I guess.
      It'll dry like no tomorrow without sensor BS, just a plain old 130 min timer and that's it.

    Can it run off just solar

    • @ToWanderFreely
      @ToWanderFreely  Před 7 lety

      We do not have solar. I am sure it depends on how much energy your solar creates. Our washer/dryer unit needs 11 amps to run. Hope that helps!

    Shake out and replace your cloths between the wash and dry cycle and they will have far less wrinkles.

    Thanks for the effort in the video. It would be nice if people that go through the trouble of making a video would at least show the finish product... i.e. let the audience see the amount of clothes you put in the combo, wash them, dry them, and then show what the clothes look like when they come out. So many people complain that the drum in this washer is too small and that the clothes come out wrinkled. I'd like to see if your clothes come out wrinkled, or if you take them out damp and they finish air drying, fold them or hang them out.
