- Bangkok's biggest cat cafe is not the typical poncey coffee shop with cats lying around harassed and bored, out of their ideal habitat, which is outdoors with lots of space and other cats to have adventures with. This cat "cafe" I went to is exactly that: A perfect environment where they get food, attention, open space and exercise, staying healthy, fit and with many friends...and potential enemies!

During the pandemic, i used to go down soi Cowboy at night feeding the cats. One of the service staff in Tilac has about 50 that she's taken home from there.
Well I guess there are a lot of pussies down Soicowboy 5555555.
None of those cats in the open air cat cafe looked like they were starving. they oook pretty healthy really good to see. Magnificent creatures.
Cat/dog cafes....I can't help but think social media is the main reason for their popularity. Before I leave Bangkok, I'll definitely visit this park with some cat food! 🐈

I have been feeding 3 street cats outside my place in Chiang Mai....seems there are at least 2 other neighbours feeding them! :)

Cheers mate, there's obviously a huge number of people who regularly walk round feeding them, and the ones on bikes who drop food off all over the park. No wonder the cat numbers have increased so much in the last 2yrs!
Funny video Pat. Pat is the “Catman” of Bangkok. Whenever we met and walked around, he would stop at every cat. The funny thing is that he can also tell little stories to many cats... I like cats too and do my part to give them something to eat or make them "famous" on the internet with cat shorts (to be honest I'm sure the cats don't care at all). The day Pat and I met I was badly sunburned after walking around filming for hours. I actually thought it wasn't that bad but after watching your video I realized I was probably wrong. I had a complexion like a lobster :D

I myself have a colony of ferals, now up to 14 that are trap neuter release, so they’ve had all their shots and are fixed. I also have a monitor lizard that has lived on my roof for 7 years. She yields the ground territory to the cats and there haven’t been any issues. But she’s an amazing lizard, she was released as part of a breeding pair that the owner either couldn’t afford or didn’t want any more. She picked out my roof after her mate was killed by a neighbor down the street. So we have shared quite the similar experience as Limpini Park here in North Central Florida, where they insist monitors can’t survive. But mine is much smarter, and found her way into snuggling up with the hot water heater after the heat lamps I put out for her with a ceramic heater didn’t work out. It’s been quite the happy little colony here!

Best Cats are Ferule Cats, the Working Cat, they roam around where they feel like and are not looking to be pet and cuddled.
Same as Lumphini cats l suppose but they have the added bonus of food and attention on their terms...
I searched, to no avail, through Benjakitty Park before I left. I guess I should have done Lumphini. I did find some to feed near The Reclining Buddha. Thanks for the Walking Tour on Thursday January 25! We had great weather.
No cats in Benjakitti, there's a dog area though, let them have their park and the felines can chill at Lumphini!
Nice job on this Pat, great to see the cats get some proper attention in your video! My gf and i loved walking around and handing out treats to so many cats on our visit. We noticed the cats at the various Wats must be really well taken care of and they were so friendly, next time we will try Lumpini!
On a side note, listening to the birds in the background of your video and that endless squawking and chirping really made me smile. I recall leaving the hotel around 5-6am each day to watch the monks collecting Alms on the streets in Khlong San and get a nice stroll in before it gets too busy. The sounds of the birds was unreal, it was sooo loud and i could have sworn i was in the jungles of Borneo. But it was smack downtown Bangkok, full of life and happiness. Fantastic!

On our recent trip to Bangkok we were able to do a tour with Pat. At the end we fed the cats of Talat Noi, along with the river boat cruising, this was probably the highlight of our kids trip.

One used to be able to go into a cat cafe, buy a coffee and stay as long you want to hang around the cats. Now there is an entry fee for a limited time (1 hour), and coffee is priced separately. So its Lumpini Park for unlimited free feline company now! BTW, the wats are also sanctuaries for cat families, so those are must-visit places for cat fanciers.
Lumphini is full of healthy clean tame cats!

Note to self, check out the cats in Lumpini Park when in Bkk. We have the spitting image of what would be considered a Korat cat in Thailand. Love him to bits. He's quite vocal & has his unique vocabulary. He was a rescue cat, about 6 months old when we got him. He spent several days hiding under my sons bed before he had the confidence to come out when we first got him. Nowadays, he parades around the place & sleeps in the dogs bed sometimes.
Sounds like it didn't take long to own the place...typical cat🐱
This video proves that cats do in fact *have staff* . So many mousers roaming in Bangkok and many locals are putting out food for them around my condo on a daily basis.

Nice to see you feed the cats, with food cats can very picky what they like and what they don’t like same as humans 😊 Last time I was at Lumphini Park I did not see any cat 🥺, next time when I’m Thailand again I will buy some cat food and go there again. I have not been to many cat cafes but the one that I did visit in Asoke doubles as a rescue haven and adoption center with responsible volunteers experienced with cat rescue. So I can only hope others are equally good but again, I haven't been to any; my cats at home would not appreciate smelling other cats on me when I get home 😅😅
PAWS have a place at Asok and they are a proper adoption centre, those cats aren't gonna be stuck there! You reminded me, l gptta pin their fundraiser on the comments.

Thanks for this video. I like all of your videos, but this one was special. I say this as a cat lover/servant/slave - whatever.. i cannot pass any cat without talking to it or try to pet it if it gives me the honour to allow it.
I am though not against cat cafes. The ones I visited always had safe areas where the cats coud retreat.

They are similar “ doggy day care “ where people leave their cats to socialise while they’re at work or they are cafes where they can grab a coffee and take their cat to okay with other cats
