    I watched a couple of reviews for these shoes, and yours is by far the best one. I like that you mention the story, the purpose, the sizing, the materials, the unique properties, etc. Thank you.

    When I hear "carbon neutral" and "Environmental sustainability" I automatically think the product will be more expensive for the sake of some sort of ideological reason, but not necessarily better quality. For this reason, I typically ignore these sorts of products. However, since I am an old guy and my feet hurt at times, I am looking for a shoe that is softer on my feet but still can pull off the dress shoe look. I am looking for one of these hybrid shoes that do not have white soles (from the side view anyway), and do not have book-binder finish. Anyway, I know this video is about 2 years old, but it is the first time I saw it, and it is opportune for me since I am looking for a shoe like this. I learned that DSW shoes sell Amberjack, so I will try them on in the store.
    Thanks for this video!

      I definitely think it's worth trying out Amberjack's shoes. And I have to say that the carbon neutral aspect does not appear to have played a large part into pricing as these remain quite affordable when to compared to similar competitors.

    Great review! I bought these shoes when they launched and love them so far. Reminds me a higher quality version of the Nike Cole Haan combos.

    I know it is a bit of a nit pick, but I'd be on board with them without the heel loop. I suppose I could just cut it off.. but that would probably just make it look damaged.

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před 4 měsíci

      Cutting it off would definitely make them look damaged. I don't mind the look of the loop honestly, especially cause I generally don't see the heel of my foot when I'm wearing these around.

    I was looking for a pair of shoes that were comfortable and came across these. I always wear motorcycle boots but after a trip to tokyo in them i think its time for something a bit more comfy lol

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před 10 měsíci +1

      These will definitely be a lot more comfortable than motorcycle boots, though perhaps not as durable in tough conditions. I suppose it all depends on how you wear them.

    I've been looking for a super comfortable dress shoe forever. I have gout, get planters and bruised heel bones very easily and frequently. So shoes are extremely important to me and comfort is everything, but I need style too. Cole Haan do the white sole too much and the sizing is horrific, being often too wide for my narrow feet. I'm really hoping skechers decides to make some dressier shoes, because their soft soles are too die for perfection! I basically wear only Yeezys, New Balance, or Cole Haan sneakers. Do you have any recommendations for me for dress shoes? Are these Amberjack going to fit the bill?

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před 2 lety

      Hey Joshua,
      As far as the most comfortable shoes we've tried that are also dressy, it is between the Amberjacks in this video and Wolf & Shepherd. The construction and soles (including insole) of both brands are incredibly comfortable and they require little to no break-in as they don't have leather soles. Honestly, I recommend purchasing a pair that you like from each brand and returning the one that you find least comfortable. There is also a difference in price to consider (Amberjack is less expensive than W&S) though I'd also leave that up to you to decide on.
      Hope this helps,
      Rafael

    These are really nice. I went to look for them and the sizes were not available. Seems like they are either coming out with new designs or not viable in the market. I hope it the first. Any info?

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před 3 lety

      I know they've been quite successful so it's likely that the stock is running low. They've also recently released a suede variety so perhaps a restock of the original leather is on the way. Can't hurt to reach out to them!

    I love the content that you provide, love the show, and keep up the great work. would you advise where I could purchase vintage, used boots other than eBay or amazon? I'm looking for a pair of the Taft Gladiator boot in chocolate, Is there an online retailer that sells these boot s

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately when it comes to used boots, I think the best place would be eBay. Perhaps other marketplace apps like poshmark or offerup could yield some good results, but my first choice would be eBay. I suppose FB Marketplace could also have some decent listings but I've never browsed it before.

    Great review. I’m looking at the suede slate style. How have you found the suede vs the leather?

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem +1

      Both leather uppers are of great quality, it just depends on the occasions you want to use these shoes in, with suede being the more casual option. Also, we reviewed their suede loafers here: bespokeunit.com/articles/shoes/amberjack-loafer/

    Do the laces need tied or can they be worn as they are in this video? Working for an airline and having to remove shoes sometimes for random TSA screening it will help with slipping on/off. Thanks for an answer

    What is the post-sale support for these shoes? Can we re-sole them?

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem

      In our experience, Amberjack has pretty good customer service. Regarding resoling, this is not a service the brand themselves offers, and I'm not sure you'd be able to resole these outside the brand seeing as how it is a cemented construction.

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem +1

      Yeah they moved away from the 100% formal shoe styles about a year ago. Arguably their newer models are more comfortable thanks to the sporty sole, but they no longer look like business formal shoes.

    AJ ships them from the US to EU -despite they are made in Portugal-, so that is not ecologically sustainable! They could ship directly from a warehouse near the factory or the factory itself.

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem +2

      It's quite possible that AJ does not yet have an established presence in EU to justify a European warehouse, or perhaps final QC is performed by the team itself in the USA.

      Hey Abel,
      Sorry to hear about the poor experience. I do believe that Amberjack was running low on stock of The Original so that's a potential reason why you order took so long to arrive. I know that their shoes are generally delivered within 2-3 days.
