    Players Pickleball Rogue2 has the perfect shape. Longer while still having enough width.

      Just got the elongated version of the Rogue2. Can't wait to try it out.

    I’ve been playing with a Gamma Needle for a couple of years now and really like it. Thank you for reinforcing my belief that it does have some advantages.

    Thank you for your time. I've only had two paddles, both Selkirk Inviktas. I'm retired so don't move around as much as I did, uh, 40 years ago. :) So the extra length helps. Both paddles are about 8.5 oz. and I have put lead tape on both, about 5 inches on each of the three sides.

    Thanks. Moved up to elongated early on...older, helped me with reach. One advantage you missed...at net chasing down a corner dink. I have learned to loosen my grip, slide down to to complete bottom of the handle...just added maybe 4 inches to reach. Started with Gamma needle, just bought a Gearbox cp7...I use a lot of topspin and power.

    Just switched to a Rogue2 hybrid from Players Pickleball. Slightly elongated. Mapped sweet spot technology with Gel Core. Very impressed with it and I like having the extra bit of length.

    Thank you for the video and information. Constructive criticism only - there were only 3 differences between the paddles but you repeated that many times. Waiting until the end I was disappointed that it was the initial information repeated over and over.

    Coming from Badminton I found the Gamma Discovery at Dicks and I love the reach and control I get vs a standard paddle.

    I believe the paddle weight has more to do with quickness and power. I have wide body paddles that are much faster then elongated paddles I’ve hit with due to materials used.Depending on size and strength of a player weight and handle length/circumference are more important IMO. I do find it easier and more natural to slice with a wide body paddle I believe due to ball rolling across contacting paddle longer. Slices less likely to pop up in my experience.

    I play with the Engage Encore EX 6.0 which is available in different weights and, for me, falls somewhere in the "middle" ground between the elongated and standard wide body. Compared to the Rogue 2, it is 3/8 wider, wider in the throat, and the handle is 1/2 shorter. I like both.

    As a beginner which would you recommend? Wide body or elongated?

  • @christopherwong6602

    I believe Engage had the blade paddle used by Morgan Evans and Marcin Rozpedski. Glen had the GP from Engage paddle as well that had a shorter stubby handle but larger faced paddle. Omni was made when Glen switched to Selkirk. That's what I remember.

    • @morekingofthecourt
      @morekingofthecourt  Před 3 lety

      So, you're saying Engage was the first to market with the blade paddle? We'll need to find out the definitive answer now!

    • @christopherwong6602
      @christopherwong6602 Před 3 lety

      @@morekingofthecourt I'm not sure if Engage or even the blade paddle was first to market the elongated paddle but it was before the Omni for sure. Morgan and Marcin used it and then Morgan came out with the Selkirk Maxima, but even before those three...Matthew Blom was the first person I first saw to have used the non-traditional shaped paddle. Back in the days of the Pop Paddle Company that he used.

      @@christopherwong6602 would be very interesting to know. I’ll have to find out. Pickleball Central told me Glen P so that’s why I said that. I’ll find out for sure this weekend.

    I tried an elongated paddle, but found the handle length to be an issue.(too short)

      @morekingofthecourt  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, this is an issue these paddles have faced, however, it seems like recently the paddle manufacturers are starting to adjust for this.

    Elongated paddles are for more SINGLES and the STANDARD are much better off in the DOUBLES.

    Totally agree! I mean just look at yours, Ben Johns, Tyson , Onyx Premier are all longer paddles than the traditional block like shape. I go between your paddle ( got it from you ofc ! ) and a gearbox gx6 love the feel of both

    I was in Spain last week and played bp against one of the greatest tennis players ever. He kicked my ass 9 straight games. Dag!!!!!! His paddle was a long necked paddle however the handle seemed to be longer also. What’s up with that. He played pb like he played tennis 🎾 back in the day. I nearly got a point. He did slip and told me his paddle was custom made. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢.
