  • Hello and welcome to Badger Workshop. It is about time I sorted this mess out. I made some storage racks to tidy the garage.

Laughing my socks off in recognition. Fighting gravity, building stuff that needs taken outside to stand up because ceilings!! and, yep, moving to a bigger unit and instantly filling it with clutter that somehow fitted in the previous place despite it being 1/3 the size. The struggle is real ;)
Nice build and very much what I'll be doing shortly to make a storage corner at the Shed.

Thank you. I was worried for a minute that it would not fit

In my 60 years, I have discovered stuff expands to fill whatever space you have. I try really hard to chuck stuff away, but it might come in useful!

I know the feeling, as soon as you get rid of something you need it.

Those are great storage shelves. I'm happy that I'm not the only one who has a garage where does not fit a car. LOL

Nice shelves Matt the simplest way is the best way.
It's amazing to see how much stuff you have got, once you make something like these shelves.

Matt...your face at 3:18...I know it well lol. I had to remove a double door and its frame once to remove a spiral staircase we made. I had that look on my face for about 45 minutes! Glad no one was filming.

Super, watch with a sympathetic smile, I’ve always wondered if I was the only one who made ‘schoolboy errors’ nice to know it happens to the best of us! Well done Matt, enjoyable vid.

I used the same torx screws for my workshop build, they rock! They went into pressure treated 3x2's like it was butter and never ever split the wood.

Interesting video Matt, I think most of us are guilty of filling every bit of space we've got, you never know when stuff might come in handy..lol

Nice build. I did something similar when I recently started renting a garage to use for storage. I thought what I built would hold most of my junk (wife's description) but it only held about one third of it. Back to the drawing board. Speaking of drawing boards, I'm not sure why you put the 5th shelf on? It is so high as to almost touch your garage roof so nothing will sit on it? Cheers

3:16 you could almost see the thought process going on in your eyes, hmm not enough height, can I move the stuff in the ceiling, no, can I move the other stuff, no, did I just record that, yes, can I roll it over, no, out we go :)

Keep the stuff till you use it, it’s only junk till the moment you need it.
Having said that, I’ve a workshop, a cellar and a lockup full of junk and I can’t actually get in to the latter two.
Perhaps selling what I don’t need in a car boot will make me feel better about parting with it.
    Nah, keep it.

Man wants industrial unit but can't justify one, even though he's got enough stuff to fill one. Oh, your face when you paused after it became plain you couldn't upright the shelves - cogs whirring loudly.
