I am still happy with my LG C8 in the gaming room so far. Has a Series S on it for guests to play Halo Infinite or Destiny 2.
Downstairs rocking a 77inch GX atm and still perfect.
I skipped the C/G1 because I don't liked the WebOS version with the full screen stuff.
Will just keep on using these TV's until they burn in or get damaged.
C8 is being gamed on like every day and sometimes 8/12 hours a day (weekends) and still performing perfect after all these years.

If this was available in a 32 inch screen size, I'd seriously consider it. I find if I have too big of a screen too close to my face, my game play is actually worse. For a desk, a 42 inch screen is too close. I know once I had my old 55 inch TV about four feet away from me and it was not a good experience. Things improved a lot when I was six feet away.

Plug in what you need, be sensible about it & keep it movin' The construction is plastic but it's a sturdy piece. It has a single toggle switch & the swivel jacks are useful as well. Plugged in next to Tripp Lite Isobar takes some of these reviews with a pinch of sumthin' - does what it says & functions properly.Had for about a month. I really didn't like having to dart my eyes constantly all over the screen to read, edit, etc. Ended up with an Alienware 38" UW, and am satisfied with it. No issues for me as I have been using the B8 since Black Friday 2018. I just use it as a dual or quad monitor setup but without the bezels breaking up the image. The TV of my parents is starting to fail though, so I am thinking of upgrading to a C2 55" soon myself. To each their own though... but moving your eyes and neck during long sessions behind the computer will minimize strain vatigue (e.g. dry eyes and stiff necks).

Nice. I've been using a Samsung 40" 4K TV as a monitor for years, I tend to describe it as like an ultrawide but with more vertical room. Can have docs or code in a tall thin window but most apps I run at a similar size/res to a 15" 1080p screen - you just don't need to fullscreen any apps. I tend to use similar space overall to an ultrawide much of the time but can have apps higher or lower rather than using a height adjust on the screen itself. This looks perfect as an upgrade at some point.

Regarding screen size. I bought a Dell 32" monitor. It's fantastic. As a software developer, it's the best productivity booster I ever bought outside of a laptop/computer. It makes doing anything on your computer so much better. The only drawback is that I should have bought the 42" version instead.
So my advice to you, if you're on the fence between two different size monitors, go with the larger monitor. Provided, of course, it fits.

    • @gtd9536
      @gtd9536 Před rokem +1

@@bernardogalvao4448 what do you plan on doing with it? For me, I would not get 21:9 monitor. I don't like the loss of verticality when developing software. Furthermore, most monitors with that dimension have less pixels than a standard 4k monitor. You pay more to display less information. The "4k" only refers to the number of pixels in the horizontal dimension. To get the 21:9 ratio, they basically chop off some vertical pixels. So if you are on the fence, I'd go with a standard 4k dimension and see of there is one at 34" size.

It doesn't answer the big question though. Monitors are basically OLEDs worst enemy. Unless you intend to get a new monitor in a year or 3, it will be pretty likely to get permanent burn in within that time frame with heavy usage (or you can prevent it by putting the brightness extra low, but there's no point in getting something so expensive if you're not going to make proper use of it). The guy making this video doesn't quite seem to understand how OLED burn in works and that it's technically the reverse of the classical plasma burn in. As in... that it's more something of a burn out.

Thanks for looking at some of the things i mentioned on your previous video! Shame you couldn't do 4K @ 120Hz. As far as i know a PC with a RTX 3xxx/RX 6xxx GPU is the only thing that can do that with 12-bit 4:4:4 colour. XSX is limited to 10-bit 4:4:4 at 4K 120Hz, and PS5 is limited to just 8-bit 4:2:2... oof. Consoles don't have the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.
BTW, LG have said the 42" will be using the new EX panel later this year. The 42" currently has an older WBC panel which is why there's no pink-ish tint at off angles on the whites, like on the new EX panels. But EX has longer life span and is less susceptible to burn-in (and can go brighter in HDR). So if anyone specifically plans on using a 42" as a PC monitor, it might be better to wait if you're worried about burn-in. The 48" and up all use EX.

    • @Crusty_Minge

@@mujtabamujeeb786 I'm kinda in same boat. But i'll be getting the 75" C2 to use with my 3080 Ti because i already sit several foot away. You can disable the ASBL (Automatic Static Brightness Limiter) dimming in the service menu, but you'll have to get an LG 'service remote' to access that menu (vids on here show how to do it). You can buy them on Ebay/Amazon. I'll be doing this because i think it will be fine with an EX panel. I also use a dark theme on everything. But the place i'll be getting it from in the UK has a 5 year burn-in warranty so i'm not worried lol.
The Alienware QD-OLED doesn't interest me because the text and small icon rendering is awful for productivity due to the weird triangle subpixel layout. It produces a chromatic aberration-like effect. HDTV Test shows it in his Alienware vid, and i _think_ it was Stop The Fomo who did a first impressions live stream where he could see it from around 10 foot away (!!). Although that was a worst case scenario with a white edge on black background, but still. There's also serious problems like an audible fan, or the lack of a screen polarizer so it reflects a ton of light which totally ruins the gorgeous OLED contrast, and the res not even being 4K. Hardware Unboxed also have a good review on the Alienware and they mention many of these issues.

I have the Aorus 43” 4k monitor. It’s VA but the picture quality isn’t the problem - the sheer distance of the corners from your center field of view negates the additional space they provide.

@@chestermoney3 Just turn the brightness down for productivity. I purposefully induced burn in on my 48CX by keeping my task bar up and regularly using test patterns to look for changes in pixel uniformity. I wanted to know what it would take, so I knew how to avoid it and figured the task bar was a good way to run that experiment since it was on the bottom of the screen where it wouldn't be noticeable, and I could just easily hide the task to prevent further degradation. I estimate I probably had the task bar up for around 3500 hours at 50% brightness before I was able to spot a difference. Thats the equivalent of having the same static elements displayed 8 hours a day for 1.2 years. And it is only barely visible and only during test patterns. Who knows how long it would take for it to actually become problematic. Not to mention it is only where the icons that used brightly saturated colors were located.
Linus got burn in because he doesn't care about burn in. If you are remotely careful it is probably not something you need to worry about. Just don't crank the brightness any higher than you need to for productivity and if you have the same static elements constantly on screen all day every day, figure out a way to move or shift them once in a blue moon. IE rearrange window locations, resize windows (easily done with fancyzones) etc.
I have since used the 48CX another 4000 hours with no further signs of pixel degradation. Because as long as you are remotely conscious about it, it is actually quite difficult to achieve. Or you could just do what I did and buy a 5 year warranty that covers burn in. As I am extremely heavy user that uses his monitor 12+ hours a day, mostly for productivity, and didn't know what to expect regarding burn-in. But knowing what I know now, I regret paying for it and won't bother buying a burn in warranty with any future OLED monitor purchase. But all future monitor purchases will definitely be OLED.

I already have the c1 and it’s amazing, no reason for me to upgrade to same tv brand, i would prefer new 42 inch Sony A90K, perfect with my PS5, and the C1 i will use it for my XBOX

I've been very interested in the monitors and TVs, that have been offered lately. Since I have been trying to, upgrade to a 4K TV for a while now. So I can have the full gaming experience, on my ps4 and ps5 (once I am able to buy one) 😁🤔

ps4 and ps5 are not native 4K. the consoles are weak for native 4K. they are upscale and most of the time the upscaling doesn't reach 4K. the console is weak even to upscale to 4K, and newer games will be more demanding.

Not worth risking getting burn in when using it for a PC.

Exactly. That's the main thing - you'll get burn-in after a year. Shouldn't be using an OLED as a PC monitor

I’ve been using the c1 for about a year and a half and not burn in.. take care of your monitor instead of leaving it on all the time . I swear people are so fucking stupid

    Hello, Thanks for the review.
there's an alternative for switching it on and off, and that is "Screen Off", and you can put this option in 'quick access menu'.
This way you will not need to switch it on and off every now and then.
    Excuse my English.

I wish I had not missed the previous video, I actually wanted to ask a question and it's probably too late now.
I fancy this monitor but my graphic card is only fitting for 1440p. I was wondering if playing a game in 1440p on this 4K display would look... tolerable, or not.
In any case I'm glad I found this channel. Stellar reviews.

Ive played at 1440p on my 65in CX and it looks much better than 1440p on my 27in pg27uq

You can always play games in native 4k and use the in-game settings to reduce the resolution to 1440p (resolution scaling). Otherwise 1440p looks better on a 1440p than on a 4k.
