I worked there for 18 months (one month at a time with a 2-day break), living in a company apartment in Pudong, in clear sight of the Pearl Tower and the "Bottle Opener" skyscraper. Playing pool just about every night for a year and a half made me a much better player.
This might be a stupid suggestion, but here goes. What's to stop a player from having a back up cue ready in working order? All he would really have to do is have another one worked in and then if this sort of thing happened it wouldn't not be such a problem. I know they play with one cue only in tournament play, their favorite. But if they had a backup ready with a broken in tip surely it would be better than what just happened!
I am a keen pool player (8-ball for preference) from the UK. I have a Joss JOS-55 for my main player, but I also have a spare player shaft for my Stinger Break & Jump cue in case of emergency.
Joseph Wolfe retipping a cue takes 5 min. I’m sure even if he didn’t have one someone would’ve gladly helped him out which means he opted to play with the same tip instead of risking it with a new tip. Which to me doesn’t really make sense. No 2 snooker cues play the same so putting a new tip on would be a way better option
@@IFranchisedI It takes quite a while for some players to get used to a new tip. It's not a minor thing to have a tip replaced, maybe it's partly psychological, and maybe not. I've seen Ronnie really struggle with a new tip. Why not have a spare cue with a worked in tip?
I'm not familiar with the rules at this level. If a player damages his cue, can he not replace the entire cue, and why wouldn't he at least have the tip replaced?
They're allowed to replace the cue but most of them are only used to one cue. If they can they will always avoid to change their cues. Replacing the tip is the lesser evil.
Can someone tell the chinese NEVER have the background brighter that the foreground. In this case the carpet is brighter than the table, It's DAMN distracting! And this playing with contrast is common sense!
