Yup, that's right. I didn't go to college, and I wanted to explain some of the reasons behind that and my thoughts and experience as someone who never went to college and if that was the right choice for me, so I hope this is good advice!
If you would like more christian advice or lifestyle advice, let me know and I can make some more videos like this! I hope you enjoyed! Don't forget to check out Nastasia's video, and thanks to her or collaborating on this with me :)

So much this. Unless your kid knows exactly what they want to do with their life, other avenues should be explored as well. Although not the only option, and this may be a controversial opinion, but I think a good option is going the military route if you have no real direction.

i’m 20 yo and all of my cousins are in college or have degrees and I don't. it's so stressful having to explain every time the reason why i don’t study, i have no passions and no dream job. I can't even find a job that I like, I'm still young, I try not to take it too seriously but it’s not easy when people are always quick to judge you and tell you how lazy you are.

It’s easy. Don’t follow your passion. Do your passions outside of career or job. Passion doesn’t always pay. Plus making your job your passion will make you hate your passion. Listen to Cal Newport on this.

I was pressured to go to college but just ended up dropping out after one semester and wasting lots of money. If college isn’t something YOU want to do and the only reason you are going is for other people then you will not have the motivation to continue. Instead of
Putting my money towards a business degree I can put it towards a business and learn on my own for free.

Thank you so much for making this video. I am graduating from high school next year and have never desired to go to college. I'm planning on taking a gap year to do missionary work and then figure out what I want to do with my life. I go to public school so I greatly relate to all of the peer pressure and judgement. I seriously thought for a few years that the only option for me would be to go to college. Your video has really encouraged me! Trusting God and seeing where He guides is what really matters, and for some of us, He just doesn't guide us to college. I just discovered your channel but I'm already a fan!

I can definitely say the worst thing is people asking ALL the time if I'm going to college. It's been a year since I graduated high school, I took a break and honestly I just dont have motivation or feel the need to go to college. I feel so pressured by family and friends always asking me, "are you in college? When are you going to go? What do you want to do?" I really do feel like a failure when I'm being asked those questions.

GIRL Geometry is HARD! I took it freshman year of high school and I struggled. I am 19 and am going to community college for Healthcare Administration (basically to be the person at the front desk of medical offices, hospitals and clinics) I have never had that "aha" moment towards a job (although I have had interests.) It's really hard when you are expected to know what to do at such a young age. I am so lucky to be able to have one year left of a 2-year program and be able to work a part-time job, live at home and go to school full-time. You are so right! The rude questions are probably the worst part. I have gotten judgmental questions (even from people who haven't gone to college themselves) and it kind of stings. But I am happy with the decision I have made!

I tried going to college for one semester and I didn't like it. I sucked at math too. I ended up going to school for dental assistant. I enjoyed that way more than going to college. I worked as a dental assistant for 10 years. I agree, people would ask me all the time if I plan on going to college. I know plenty of people who went to college and they are not any smarter than me or someone else who didn't go to college.

Ohh it's a collab! I thought it was just a coincidence that you both posted a college video practically at the same time haha 😂 but I loved this and I love that you highlighted the fact that we can literally go to college whenever. My dad didn't go to college and now in his very adult age he got his master's degree by the grace of God and it couldn't have been more timely for him. The truth is we all have a different story, a different life journey and that should be okay. I'm beginning university in September and I found a program that I think is perfect for me and after months of being indecisive about what I want to do I'm really excited that I've found it 😊

Architect? Me too, when I was 10. In high school I took 4 years of mechanical drawing and learned that I was going to have to learn a lot of law, not just drawing, so I tapped it down to draftsman, but I was also taking art classes. I didn't get along with the teacher. She wanted me to do modern art, I wanted to do realistic are. You can see where this is heading. My 1st year Algebra class I did well in, but Plain Geometry, I barely made it, so don't feel bad. I finally decided to go into Commercial Art, and still think I could do well in advertising. I was accepted in Evangel Liberal Arts College in Springfield, MO and Ridgewood School of Art, in Ridgewood, NJ. I chose the former and found out they only had 1 commercial art class. Still I majored in art and minored in Bible until my Junior year, at which point I switched them, making Bible my major and art my minor. I was not pretty much unemployable I worked at a TV studio as their entire art department for a month or so until I got them through their Fall Promos and then was replaced with someone with experience. I finally ended up moving back to New Jersey, taking on a job as a school custodian. From there I found a job doing light maintenance work and then building security in Manhattan. Around 1980 Jesus began speaking to me saying, "I was in prison and you came to Me." So I tried to get into prison ministry. Through another set of miracles I found a position as a federal correctional officer in New York, where I served for 20 years before retiring at 50 years of age. At the beginning of this we were sent down to a training center for a couple of weeks. We were given 2 tests, a mid-term and a final. If the accumulative grade wasn't above a certain level we lost the job. My mid-term was dangerously low, so I began taking notes and reading through them every night. I think I got a 98 on my final and a 92.5 overall. All my life I thought I was below average, because that's the kind of grades I used to get. I'm convinced that if I'd have taken a year off, worked a bit, got my head together, and then gone to college I would have done much better. So, you are right, at least in my opinion, waiting a year instead of rushing into things can be beneficial. Then again both of my kids graduated different high schools in different years as class Valedictorian. My son eventually married and is now working with Pioneer Bible Translators (they have 3 children of their own). My daughter teaches the hearing impaired, and even spent 5 1/2 months in Uganda with Hear His Voice Ministries, helping them set up the school there. God has a plan for each of His children. As His children we need to shove our desires to the side and go after what would please our Heavenly Father. We'll find that's where we will find our greatest joy. A truly awesome post Kendra.

But yeah glad you did you and didn't fall into pressure. Growing up college was all we knew, once you graduate you go to college so I ended up not using my degree with 30k in debt. Yeah big regret. The worst part is when people ask you if you are going to school, I'm like yeah I graduated years ago but not using my degree.
