    I'd replace "pay your parents" with "pay your own phone bill, buy food for yourself" etc.
    Just handing your parents 50 doesn't really mean as much as owning and paying for your own bills.

      @andrewchr Před 6 lety +41

      If you're living in the same house as your parents then either you pay them an average every month to compensate for food, water bill, electricity bill etc. Or get out and rent on your own which will certainly give you a lot more freedom and responsibility... plus you get to bring girls home at the end of the night ;)

      I went abroad to live and work. I was away for long years. I couldn't see my mother's last breaths as she died. I've lost my father the same year. You never know what life brings to all of you in the family. Honestly, it's hard to live with playing the film in my head again and again and trying to change the unchangeable.We are not here to stay forever. It is a good idea to show your parents that you care and you are a good person with good intentions in life. That 50 bugs is symbolic and it although financially means little and also it isn't for showing your generosity, but still perfect to make your mum and dad happy to feel you are on the right track. A little touch of evidence that they have done a good job. It is basically just to be nice to them. If you only buy a bouquet of flowers for your mum and one of his favourite old tunes for your dad time to time, it makes the case not much different only you name it an other way.

If thing starts to fall apart in your life, just a scrap of paper saying BA or master could help avoid you from being poor or live the worse life. Not going to college in the society will leave you with a lot of risk and have a high chance of being homeless when you grow up.

    Honestly you are so right on this. I come from a not wealthy family but my country provides support for studies. I finished school and thouht I NEED TO STUDY. So I enrollend. Bullshit, you don't need to study . At least not when you're young. I quit, because studies takes so much of your free time (if you have to do it properly in order not to waste the money), that you have hardly time for anything. I found that i wanted to try more things out, so i started to do it next to my studies, but in return my grades dropped and i would have been kicked out from the goverment support. It is not smart to study something you have no clue about or you are not interested in. Work can be found everywhere and while working developing skills is the best thing you can do. But you shouldn't be lazy for this. Because if you really wanna have a decent income, you really need to educate yourself. But you don't need a Professor who probably never worked himself/herself OUT HERE and tells you "You need to do this, you need to do that, this theorie is important it's applied for blablabla" no theorie helps you in the real world. YOUR SKILLS COUNT.

    This was super helpful! I want to go into politics, so I will need a degree...but I'm also trying to go the debt-free route in college. That goal, however, is kinda difficult since I'm paying for all my own school. I'm thinking I'm going to need to take a gap year in order to afford my schooling, so I'm trying to plan carefully for that year by watching videos like this. Also, as is the case with most homeschoolers, I've considered the entrepreneur route, so studying videos like yours has proved a great resource. Thank you!

    are just used to their parents paying for everything. I went to a prep highschool under a wrestling scholarship and basically the entire class never worked a real job, or if they do, they work 2 hours a day for little ice cream shop in their town. Last summer, I balanced 2 part time jobs, one landscaping and the other at a pizzeria, sometimes I would even end up working both on the same day. I have the work ethic to accomplish anything and I know what I want to do. I am going to open a gym and train people. Right now I have a job working banquets at a country club and I will be making $33,000 minimum a year. After 4 years, while everyone else is at college and in debt, I will have at least $120,000. The gym will cost no more than $100,000, so after that, I will maintain a growing revenue with the gym and continue working at the country club, increasing in my position. I am willing to do this. I don’t want to sit in a classroom and stress about my education for the next 4+ years. What do you think? Is this sustainable?

  • @SolidPayne

    First off, university can help a lot if you want to be a job that’s very high pay however, this doesn’t mean that you need a university degree just to get by in life. Take a break after H.S but after a year or two go back to school for a few years.
    College is pointless on the other hand.

    One is to sell them on the more marketable majors like: STEM or business.
    then, for the students who do. not want to. major in a maketable major, there is still the idea that its the professional networks and. connections you make that really get you a job. Problem is, there is tens of thousands of students graduating with marketable degrees from prestigous universities, and some of them are having a hard time finding a job.
