- Easy Homemade Focaccia
Recipe
500g Strong White Bread Flour
425ml of lukewarm water
10g Fresh yeast or 3g Dried yeast
50ml of Olive Oil
12g of Salt
25ml of lukewarm water
I used a flour with a protein content of 14g pr 100g. If you use a flour with a protein content below that you may want to reduce the water slightly. Aim for the consistency of the dough in the video
Use whatever topping you like. I baked this at 230 C Conventional oven for 30 minutes

Yes you can. The more you use the more compact the crumb will be. Try with 20-30% of the flour being whole-wheat to begin with and see how you like it 😊
Hi Chris, do you feel there is an advantage in using fresh yeast versus dry instant yeast?
I use whatever I have. I find that fresh yeast is best for rich doughs. It gets to work faster. Sometimes the high amount of fat used in a dough can have a negative impact on the dry yeast. So yeah, I tend to use fresh and dry for bread and fresh for rich doughs like brioche, croissants etc 😊

Hi Chris could this dough be used to make Pizza in a home electric oven? Or do you have a recipe for Pizza. Thank you for your reply. Patricia
You could yes. The dough wouldn’t need to be as wet. You could mix the dough in a stand mixer for about 12-15 minutes then put it in an oiled container and leave in the fridge overnight. The next day weigh them. Around 250g for a normal size pizza. Shape round and let them rise covered. Bake on a pizza stone or a pizza steel. As hot as your oven can go 😊☘️

What’s the name of your flour. I can only find 12.7% at my grocery store
It’s a Danish Brand. Try reducing the water a little then if it’s too soupy and runny 😊
